This manual will accompany our classroom sessions with powerpointpresentations,demonstrationsandmatchfootage.PlayersareexpectedtoreviewandstudythemanualpriortotheopeningoftheTrainingCamp.●NationalTeamDressCodeClarificationonNo.1’s–No.5’s:TheNZU18’sparticipatewithaclearuniformcombination:

- Number1’s:BlackSuits.Thisincludesablackblazer,whiteshirt,NZIHFtie(suppliedbytheNZIHF),blacktrousersandblackdressshoes.Absolutelynohats.

- Number2’s:Trackpants/shortsandNZIHFhoodie.- Number3’s:(Foroff-icewarmup)NZIHFblackshortsandanNZIHFt-shirt.- Number4’s:(Formeals)Anypants/NZIHFshortswiththeNZIHFpolotop.- Number5’s:Completemufty.Hatspermitted.Nooffensiveclothingpermitted.

Players Suits / Number 1’s: Players and management will wear a black suit for some publicoccasions. These include travelling to/from games, formal tournament occasions anddeparture/arrivalatairports.Players/parentswillhavetoorganizetheirsuitontheirown.Anyblacksuitwilldo.IfyouwishtopurchasethematHallenstein’s,foryourreferencethestyletagfromthe2012/2013NZU18suitisbelow:

Thesesuitscanbefoundataround$200,anditincludestheblackblazerandblackdresspants.Ifyoualreadyhaveablacksuit frompastNZU18teamsor fromanotheroccasion, thiscanbeusedforthe2017NZU18’s.Passports:It isanIIHFrequirementforallWorldChampionshipthatallparticipants,regardlesswhere the tournament is held, need to provide a valid passport for the Passport Controlmeeting.PleaseensureyouhaveavalidNewZealandpassport.Spending Money: We recommend that you budget accordingly and bring enough spendingmoneyforsnacks,souvenirsandany icehockeygearyouwishtopurchase.$300-$450shouldbeenough.Togs:Wewillbedoingdailyactivitieswhichwill include swimmingatpools.Thereforepleasebringyourtogs.ClothingOrder:Clothingordersareinprogress,andwillbedistributedatthe2016NZJIHLU20Final Round inDunedin (8-11December 2016). This includes hockey equipment bags aswell.YouareperfectlywelcometouseuniformsandNZIHFbagsfrompreviousNZIHFtrips.PlayerslocatedoverseaswillhavetheirgearbroughttotheminChina.Compulsoryclothingitemsinclude:PoloTops(formeals),T-Shirts(foroff-icewarm-ups),Shorts(foroff-icewarm-ups),NZIHFEquipmentBags,NZIHFCarry-OnBagsandNZIHFTies.On-IceGameUniforms:TheNewZealandUnder-18playinguniformsareprovidedby the IIHF(theseincludewhite/blackjerseys,white/blacksocksandblackpantshells).These uniforms are property of the NZIHF and will be distributed to the players in China /Taiwan.Playerswillhavetheoptiontopurchasetheirwhitegamejerseyin2017,atthecostof$100ea.On-Ice PracticeUniforms: Black socks and theNZIHFpractice jerseywill bedistributed to theplayersattheChinatrainingcamp.TheseuniformsarepropertyoftheNZIHFandwillhavetobereturnedtomanagementattheconclusionofthecamp.Itistheplayer’sresponsibilitytokeepthisuniformingoodshape.

Player Expectations: The NZIHF expects all players and management to attend all trainings,games,classroomsessionsandteamactivities.TheNZIHFCodeofConductwillbedistributedinDecember2016.●SponsorshipRaffleTheIIHFhasallowedallteamstohavesponsorshiplogosonourplayinghelmets.Eachticketisvaluedat$100each.Theticketsthatyousellindividuallywillbedeductedfromyourtotaltripcost,sotoassistyourparents,wewouldexpectthatyouselltenofthesetickets.Oneofthewomen’steamsold22tickets.Wechallengeyoutometorbetterthisfigure!The2017NZU18SponsorshipPackagewillbedistributedinNovember2016.Pleaseadviseifyouwishanothercopytobeemailedtoyou.ClosingdateforSponsorshipTicketsis15January2017.●PaymentsThe team bank account is open for payments. Off-iceItinerary:Management has planned an off-ice itinerary for a few hours each afternoon, to take in theeducationaltripsandtouristsites inthearea.This itinerarywillprovideoptionsforplayers,todoactivitiestosuittheirfinancialbudget.Amemberofmanagementwillbepresentatalltimes,to superviseeachactivity.Amongouroptions include theGreatWallofChina,TheForbiddenCity, Tiananmen Square, Summer Palace, Mutianyu and numerous cultural and historicactivities.

●WADASubstancesTestingThe IIHFtakesaverystrongstanceagainstdoping in IceHockey.Therefore,the IIHFperformsrandomdrugtestingaftereachgametoensureeveryplayerfollowstheanti-dopingpolicy.Thepenaltiesforapositivetestarehefty,andincludeautomaticforfeitureofthegameimmediatelybefore the test.
