New York is undoubtedly the liveliest and most exciting city in the world and offers your students a truly unique experience – its on and off Broadway theatres are widely acknowledged as providing the very best live theatre and entertainment experiences.

New York’s Broadway Theatre

Give your students the opportunity to experience this spectacular city and visit its world famous sights – the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, Madison Square Garden, Brooklyn Bridge, Wall Street and Broadway!

New York is the acknowledged capital of theatre, art and entertainment in the United States. This tour provides your students with the opportunity to spend several unforgettable days in New York; experiencing the city and its unique atmosphere, enjoying Broadway shows and taking part in Broadway workshops.

The performing arts workshops are hosted by Broadway professionals and tailored to the study and ability level of your students. We offer a range for you to choose from to ensure you can select the workshops that best suit your students.

You will be able to choose from a wide range of Broadway’s leading shows, which you can enjoy from great seats. Popular choices have included Chicago, Wicked, The Lion King, Jersey Boys, Aladdin, Finding Neverland, School of Rock and Phantom of the Opera.

Of course, New York is also home to some of the world’s leading museums – the Museum of Modern Art, the Guggenheim Museum, 9/11 Memorial Museum - the United Nations Headquarters and the Wall Street financial district.

In addition to seeing the famous sites and attractions, you and your students will have the chance to explore at your own pace, visiting parts of the city such as Times Square, Greenwich Village, Fifth Avenue, Chinatown and Central Park, which will provide new experiences that will stimulate and inspire them.

Our five and six day tours ensure that you have enough time to explore this remarkable city and to visit its incredible sights and attractions. Our range of educational programmes and visits will ensure your students gain the maximum benefit from their time away and return with a real understanding of Broadway theatre and the world of live theatre and entertainment!

A sample from our wide range:

Acting AuditionThe Acting Audition workshop gives students the knowledge of how important first impressions are when entering the audition room for the first time. This workshop will focus on the monologue, cold readings and stage presence. The session kicks off with an interactive group activity, and then works on specific material focusing on making choices while in an audition situation.

Making a SceneProfessional actors or teaching artists will advise your group on acting choices, vocal techniques and character development designed to encourage bold and creative acting choices. Working on a scripted scene, the focus in this workshop is on interpreting and bringing text to life in truthful, imaginative and specific ways.

Musical Theatre Song and MovementThis session is taught by Broadway performers. Sheet music will be provided to the group, who will then work with a cast member and a pianist. The workshop recreates a true Broadway rehearsal with the students, who learn the choreography, staging and music directly from the Broadway production that they are seeing.

Step by StepParticipants have the opportunity to experience many different Broadway dance styles. This session can be taught by a performer from the show the group is seeing and feature choreography from that show. Other options for this workshop include a professional dance audition or a specific type of dance (modern, hip hop, tap, etc). Don’t forget to bring your dancin’ shoes and clothes!
