Antonin Rodet proposes wines for which the
authenticity and quality are guaranteed by the passion and
know-how of the wine-growers, winemakers and cellar mas-ters who elaborate them. Engaged at the source with the
winegrowers, chance has thus little place when it comes to
selection.

Château de Laubade was built in 1870 and is today the premier Armagnac property, composed of 260 acres of
single vineyard. It is located in Sorbets d’Armagnac, in the heart of the noblest area of the appellation: the Bas
Armagnac. The Lesgourgues family has been running the estate since 1974. Since 1998, Arnaud and Denis Les-
gourgues, as the third generation have been actively involved in the quest of excellence, to make Château de

CALVADOS - PAYS D’AUGE
CHRISTIAN DROUIN www.calvados-drouin.com/
The story of Drouin Calvados began around 1960 when Christian Drouin, an industrialist
from Rouen (Normandie), decided to buy a farm and to use the cider-apple orchards to pro-
duce Calvados. His aims were simple: produce a top-quality spirit, the best. The third-
generation is now hard at work. It maintains the tradition that have enabled to become one of
the 100 “sites of excellence in taste” selected by the ministry for culture. In 1955 the Europe-
an foundation awarded the estate its European prestige Grand Prix for the whole of its produc-
tion, which represents the quintessence of Calvados.

CHAMPAGNES & SPARKLING WINES
CHAMPAGNE DUVAL-LEROY
Duval-Leroy is family-owned and was established in 1859 through the merger of two Champagne growers. The company is still
based in its village of origin, Vertus. Handed down from father to son, it has remained independent for 153 years. With two
hundred hectares of vines, Vertus (2500 inhabitants) is now the second largest wine-growing district in the Champagne region,
after Les Riceys. Today it enjoys its status as a thriving community based on its qualification as one of the top Premier Cru
rated areas in Champagne.

VOUVRAY-MONCONTOUR
Château Moncontour is one of the oldest of the Loire Valley, dating back to the 4th century. Since the tenth
century, caves have been excavated in the cliffs to vinify and preserve its precious wine. Though the estate origi-
nated in the thirteenth century, the actual castle dates back to the end of the fifteenth. Even Balzac longed to
own it, and in his novel "La femme de trente ans," he immortalized Moncontour and its wines. The total surface
of the vineyards is 140 hectares (capable of producing one million bottles) spread out over several types of soils
of VOUVRAY and TOURAINE Appellation near Tours. This makes this estate one of the biggest of the Loire Valley.

Records show that the noble Château Ramafort already existed in 1240. Vineyards were planted in the excep-
tional soil around the Chateau in the 17th
century. Formidable changes have been made to the estate in the last
three decades: complete restructuring of the vineyard by the Rothschild family at the beginning of the seventies,
high-tech improvements to wine-growing and wine-making by the owners. Eric Fabre, the winemaker of Château
Ramafort, is the former winemaker of Château Lafite Rothschild.

The 26 ha estate is located between Poujeaux and Chasse-Spleen and as to 90% on gravel of the River Garonne
and as to 10% on limestone soils. These soils have an important influence on the wine making of Château Dut-

certain strength of body which is the hallmark of Dutruch.

Pauillac de Haut Bages Liberal 354 2009 750 $ 320
The name Château Haut Bages Liberal comes from: Haut Bages because the property is situated on the hills of
Bages, a small hamlet between Pauillac and Saint Julien. Libéral is the name of the family who built up this wining
property during the 18th century. Wine brokers from one generation to another over the years they grouped good
plots of deep gravel, the largest of which dominates the Gironde estuary.
The Meyre family has been making wine on the Listrac and Haut Medoc terroirs
since 1810, using traditional methods and the savoir faire passed down from generation to generation.
The vineyards are today spread over 3 properties located in the heart of the Medoc, not far from Bordeaux.

With a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot, De Luze, who is the president of the Alliance des Cru
Bourgeois, has produced a dense, ruby/purple-colored wine exhibiting notes of forest floor, spring flowers, blue-
berry, black raspberry and cassis. This wine looks even more impressive than the 2009, which was another terrific
sleeper of the vintage. A superb cru bourgeois that behaves like a classified growth, this brilliant wine can be
drunk early on because of its sweet tannin and low acidity, or cellared for 15 or more years. Bravo!
This is an absolutely sensational wine from proprietor Frederick De Luze, from his beautiful estate in Soussans in
the northern tier of Margaux. A member of the Alliance des Cru Bourgeois du Medoc.

Established since 1850, Alain Geoffroy estate is family-owned and grows around 45 hectares of vines and pro-
duces Chablis wines that uphold the tradition and authenticity of the terroir, fresh and fruity wines with a great
mineral imprint. Today, Alain Geoffroy estate continues to cherish its vines so that they not only give us wine to

LOIRE VALLEY
Château Moncontour is one of the oldest of the Loire Valley; it was created around the 4th century. Since the
tenth century, caves have been excavated in the cliffs to vinify and preserve its precious wine. Though the estate
originated in the thirteenth century, the actual castle dates back to the end of the fifteenth. Even Balzac longed
to own it, and in his novel "La femme de trente ans," he immortalized Moncontour and its wines. The total sur-
face of the vineyards is 140 hectares (capable of producing one million bottles) spread out over several types of
soils of VOUVRAY and TOURAINE Appellation near Tours. This makes this estate one of the biggest of the Loire
Valley.

front of the Château de Chaumont sur Loire. The story of Clos de la Briderie is the story of a 5-generation vine
grower family in love with their job and with their “terroir”. Since 1891, the tradition of a biodynamic agriculture
has been carried on. This natural method of wine making seeks to reinforce and encourage beneficial exchange

Domaine Marcel Langoux
Opposite Sancerre on the eastern bank of the Loire, is the town of Pouilly-sur-Loire. In Pouilly the landscape is
gentler and the soil contains more limestone and flint than in Sancerre. This soil, it was believed, give the wine
more pronounced gunflint or smoky flavor, hence the name of the wine: Pouilly-Fume. The word fume means
smoke in French. The philosophy of wine making in Pouilly-Fumé (same for Sancerre) has traditionally focused on
preserving the pure, uninhibited flavors of Sauvignon Blanc and the grape’s naturally high acidity.

In 1964, Odette & Henri Bour created the Domaine de Grangeneuve. Winegrowers for many generations in Alge-
ria, they finally chose the north of the north of the appellation, in the heart of the Rhône Valley, where there was
hardly any vine at the time. They took many years to deforest, clear and prepare the land, plant and wait for the
vines to start being productive. In 1974, a wine cellar completes the job so that the wines are to promote the soil
and the efforts undertaken in viticulture. Today, the four Bour children have taken over and Henri Bour is in
charge of the Domaines
The names “Tuilière” meaning “tile” comes from the discovery of Roman tiles, pottery and oil lamps when creating
the terraces to grow the vines. Domaine de la Tuilière is located at a 300-meter altitude. South of the Rhone’s
Valley on the hillside of Mount Ventoux that grows the vines under typically Mediterranean climate.

Known since the Middle Ages as an integral part of the Bordeaux "high country", the Buzet vineyards stretch be-
tween Agen and Marmande. Originally monastic, Buzet was developed subsequently by the Agen townsfolk. The
phylloxera crisis diminished it to little more than a memory, but from 1956 it has become a symbol of the renais-
sance of the high country vineyards. Today over 900 hectares fulfil the age conditions needed to produce this
vintage. A rigorous selection process allows the best plots to be selected for its production.

CHÂTEAU DE POURCIEUX
The Château de Pourcieux from the time immemorial has been an Important site of viticulture and ranks among
the most venerable vineyards of Provence. Roman vestiges bear witness to its history; beneath the chateau its
cellars contain monumental vats dating from the XVIIIth century and a collection of oak hogsheads which are as-
sembled on the spot and are still in use today. Since 1986, Michel D’Espagnet perpetuates the family tradition.

The first vineyards were purchased during World War I by Louis’s wife while he was away at the Russian Front.
Their 60 hectares are concentrated around Ribeauvillé, in the centre of Alsace on the best hillsides. In 1934, a
new wine processing plant was built. It was among the most modern plants of its day. Now, Etienne Sipp has sig-
nificantly enhanced the quality of its vineyard, progressively turning it into organic.

While staying in Hyeres in the winter of 1892, Queen Victoria stopped at Chateau de la Clapière to admire the
estate’s beauty. On that day, a little 8-year girl held out a bouquet of violets to her and talked with her for a few
minutes: it was Victoria Constant, my great-grandmother. Years later, when my grandfather Henri came to ask
Charlotte Constant’s parents for her hand in marriage, he offered to entrust them with the estate’s management:
that was how Victoria gained access to the chateau of her childhood dreams.

Wine has existed on this estate since the 1st century A.D., and it was King Henri IV who gave it its reputation.
Enchanted by the beauty of the site and the quality of the wines, the good King ordered his ministry, the Duke of
Sully to introduce the wines to the French court, and to plant trees on the estate. The very first mulberry tree of
France was planted in 1594, at the same time as the plane trees that still adorn the Chateau’s terrace today.

vinced of the potential of their vineyards, decided to join forces and create a project whose main aim was the
marketing of quality wines. Sharing their vineyards, working hand in hand and using techniques passed on from
father to son since time immemorial, these entrepreneurs together founded the Bodega Virgen Blanca.
