Christmas

We will request a non-refundable deposit of £250 per room to confirm your booking, with the balance payable by 25/11/21. All payments are non-refundable – it’s a good idea to take out suitable travel insurance to provide you with cover in the event that you should need to cancel for any reason.

The hotel reserves the right to change the advertised programme and menus at any time. No adjustment to the tariff will be made for any part of the package not taken.

Twixmas

We will request a non-refundable deposit of £75.00 per room to confirm your booking. Any cancellations after the 1st December will result in full charge being made, unless the accommodation can be re-let. All payments are non-refundable – it’s a good idea to take out suitable travel insurance to provide you with cover in the event of cancellation.

New Year

We will request a deposit of £150 per room to confirm your booking, with the balance payable by 30/11/21. For bookings made after 30/11/21, we will request payment in full at the time of booking. All payments are non-refundable – it’s a good idea to take out suitable travel insurance to provide you with cover in the event of cancellation due to illness etc.

Christmas and New Year at Ilsington is all about rest, relaxation and plenty of good food. The emphasis is on good traditional hospitality with a friendly, family feel. We don’t have non-stop entertainment yet there are events during your stay to add to the festivities and enhance the truly magical feeling of spending Christmas in a Country House Hotel. Our stunning Spa will help you burn off the extra calories and ensure you well and truly relax.

ChristmasTHURSDAY 23RD DECEMBER

Arrive for a fireside Devonshire cream tea with homemade scones, clotted cream and jam.

In the evening join us for a welcome drink in the bar prior to a sumptuous dinner in the Restaurant prepared by our talented chefs.

CHRISTMAS EVE - FRIDAY 24TH DECEMBER

Breakfast and then a leisurely morning with no planned activities.

In the afternoon there is a crib service at the local church - just a short walk from the hotel.

Enjoy a cream tea in the afternoon, making sure not to spoil the 4-Course Dinner in the evening.

CHRISTMAS DAY – SATURDAY 25TH DECEMBER

A leisurely Breakfast served in the Restaurant, with a gift from Santa to those who have been good throughout the year. Try not to eat too much as it is a big day of eating!

A traditional 6-course Christmas lunch is served in the Restaurant followed by an afternoon of leisure; perhaps a walk on Dartmoor or more likely a traditional snooze after the Queen’s Speech.

In the evening the chefs will have prepared a wonderful buffet supper to be taken at your leisure and providing you still have the appetite. Afterwards and for those wishing to partake, there will be a festive quiz in the lounge. An informal and relaxed end to a special day.

BOXING DAY – SUNDAY 26TH DECEMBER

After Breakfast, there will be a bird of prey flying display by Dartmoor Hawking in the hotel’s garden. A fascinating talk and display with a variety of different birds and always a popular inclusion to our festive programme.

Cream tea will again be served in the lounge and in the evening another wonderful dinner in the Restaurant.

MONDAY 27TH DECEMBER

Wend your way home after breakfast or take advantage of our extra night rate and spend a leisurely day with us before travelling home on Tuesday 28th December. For those wishing to stay longer, you can participate in our Twixmas Programme. Please see tariff for details.

New Year and Gala Dinner THURSDAY 30TH DECEMBER

NEW YEAR’S EVE - FRIDAY 31ST DECEMBER

Breakfast and a leisurely morning with no planned activities.

Devonshire cream tea with homemade scones and clotted cream and jam will be served in one of our cosy lounges during the afternoon.

In the evening join us for a glass of celebration fizz in the lounge from 7pm. The gala dinner will be served, altogether, at 8pm in the main Restaurant. This will be a stunning 6-course taster menu created by our talented chefs, taking us through to approximately 10.30pm when the music and dancing will begin. ‘Signs of Life’, a Celtic and Irish folk band, will then see us through to 2022. Please note dinner will be a set-menu, with dietary requirements catered for (advance notice needed). Menu will be available beforehand.

NEW YEAR’S DAY – SATURDAY 1ST JANUARY

Breakfast at your leisure.
