Instincts (Annual Techno- Cultural fest of Indus University) this year celebrated intellectualism, crea- tivity and the spirit of the party. The fest promised a marvellous blend of fun and frolic, devotion,
dedication & lots of happiness. Like every journey which begins with a backpack and ends with an
album of memories, one completely relived the era in the four days of the event and memories that is to
be cherished forever.

AETHOS and SPARX were intercollegiate events. While COLLYMPICS was an intra-
college event. The fest was a colourful combination of various sports, literary, music,
dance and dramatics competitions .It encouraged all the fresh blooms to showcase their
talents and participate in the plethora of events on a stage like Instincts. This was an annual
fest which guaranteed power-packed magnanimous performances and competitions in a fun-friendly environment.

FACULTY ACHIEVEMENTS
1. Dr. Samir Gopalan chaired a session as a key-
note speaker for a National Conference “LATMAN-
Latest Advances in Technology, Management and
Media”, organized by IIMT Group of Colleges, Dept
of Management, Greater Noida, on 10th Feb 2018.
Sir also presented a paper titled “A Study on Readi-
ness Towards Entrepreneurship among management
students”. The Conference received total 169 re-
search papers from across India.
2.Construction Chemicals Conference – Regional (C3R) is conducted every year by Construction
Chemicals Manufacturers Association. Prof. Tejendra Tank was invited to the conference. It consisted of over 150
participants from across India and over 25 construction chemical companies from across the world. It comprised over 07
sessions for the entire day from eminent speakers imparting knowledge on use of construction chemicals.
EXPERT LECTURES
1.Electronics & Communication Engineering Department invited an eminent speaker from GEC, Bharuch (Dr. Anil Shatriya) to deliver an expert lecture on the topic “Fundamentals of Optical Communication &
Recent Trends.”The expert lecture helped the students to know the advantage of optical communication as it draws crucial application in telecom and computer networking industries for long-distance communications in
recent times.
2. Indus “Electrical & Electronics Students Association”
organized an expert talk by Mr. Prathmesh Oza & Mr. Jinesh Patel from eInfochips on VLSI Design, Challenges and Future for students of 6th semester EEE
& EC branch on 28th
February,2018. The objective of
this expert talk is to help students gain first hand information which presents the students with opportunities to plan, organize and engage in active learning experiences both inside and outside the classroom regarding application specific integrated circuit flow, its application, synthesis & verification.

3. Expert Lecture meetings were arranged for students under the auspices of AIMES on 28/2/2018. The lectures were very informative and educative from students point of view. Following were the experts and their topics.

informative, interactive and fruitful.

“Word Engineering” on 15th
February, 2018 for Under graduate
students of IICT. Students were
trained by Mr. Akash Mehta from
“Logic Academy”. Students learned
new techniques of word creation
skills.The seminar encouraged
students to sharpen their communi-
cation with knowledge of word engi-
neering skills.
DAYS OF CELEBRATIONS
1. On 21st February, 2018 the department
of Science & Humanities organized
‘Matribhasha Diwas’ under i-SAHA.
They invited Dr. Nigam Dave, Director
of School of Liberal Studies, PDPU,
Gandhinagar for an Expert lecture on
‘Celebration of Matrubhasha - Art of
As-similation’. A short story / poetry
writing competition was organised for
the 1st year B.Tech students.

2. “National Science Day” was celebrated
on 28th Feruary, 2018. On this
occasion, a Science Quiz Competition
was organised, there were participants
from all the 12 branches of 1st year

winners and participants.

WORKSHOPS
1. On 1st and 2nd February’2018
Civil department had organized two days workshop on “STAAD Pro V8i” which was
coordinated by Prof. Tejas Rathi and Prof. Harsh Soni.
More than 60 students actively participated in the workshop. STAAD is a design software
focussing on Structural Analysis & Design. The program is also used for detailing structural
elements for the purpose of producing working drawings. It is very useful for civil engineers
2. On 22nd & 23rd February’18
Civil department organized two days hands-on workshop on “Building Information Modelling”
coordinated by Prof. Anand Patel & Prof. Pooja Gohil.
62 students had actively participated in the workshop. BIM is a process which involves a systematic
approach to planning, designing, management and analysis of information-rich virtual building models
in most efficient/dynamic manner. The workshop was inclined towards learning applications of BIM in
the construction industry and its benefit to the industry as a whole.

awarded with the title ”Best event manager” of the year 2017-2018 by National Institute of Event Manage- ment held at town hall, Ahmedabad on 9/2/2018 for organizing inter college cultural techno and sports festi val, Instincts 2k18 held at INDUS Uni-versity which was also covered by Ahmedabad Mirror.
