Concept Statement: “Functionality with Comfort in Mind”
This client is a college graduate wanting to live in a tiny house with a urban chic
space that was incredibly warm and inviting, yet fully functional. I wanted to bring a
sense of the outdoors in, so I included a lot of natural wood products and plants
throughout the loft and main floor. I also wanted to design the space with storage in
mind. Underneath the couch there is a storage space for multiple baskets with plenty of
shelves lining the wall. In addition to these shelves, there is storage underneath the
floor. In order to keep the dining space full functional with easy access, I made the
dining room table fold down when not in use. For comfortable living I also included
plenty of casual seating and a hanging chair for a interesting focal point. In the loft, I
also put plenty of floor to ceiling drawers and cabinets around the perimeter of the
room. Overall this space is meant for functionality with comfort in mind.
