1974 REPORT TO THE NATION Scouting's 64th An niversary Celebration READER'S DIGEST ASSOCIATION--BSA NATIONAL PUBLIC SPEAKING CONTEST
The 12 regional finalists of the National Public Speaking Contest are divided into two categories: Scout finalists and Explorer finalists. The winner of each category will receive a $2,500 college scholarship from the Readerls Digest Association; second prize, $750; third prize» $450; fourth prize, $350; fifth prize» $250; and sixth prize, $200. Each finalist was selected in competition at the district, local council, and regional levels. The two national winners will be selected during the national finals at the Washington Hilton Hotel, Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, Feb. 20.
