has reported that in the enterprise mobility management (EMM) sector MobileIron is the undisputed leader within the country. Another finding is that the crown for the most popular operating systems is bagged by Android and iOS is competing neck and neck.

The research findings based on 1,200 interviews conducted between March and August 2016 revealed that MobileIron and VMware AirWatch are the leading contenders with 31.4 and 16.7 percents market share respectively. The report highlighted that the market shares of the two top players haven’t changed significantly since last year.

Good/BlackBerry is not far behind VMware AirWatch with 13.7 percent market share. The other two players, Microsoft with 7.8 percent and Citrix with 7.4 percent market share are outside the medals.

In the smartphone operating system space, Android edges out iOS with 41 percent share of the pie. iOS is just behind with 38 percent whereas Microsoft and BlackBerry trail behind with 17 percent and 3 percent respectively. This report contradicts the findings of many researches undertaken in the recent past which claimed that iOS is the ruling champion.

Data from another study carried out in 2012 substantiates the fact that the world of technology and mobile OS in particular is highly volatile. Figures from that study shows that BlackBerry and iOS were tied for the top with 27 percent market share and Android was just behind with 22 percent.

Microsoft and Symbian were trailing behind with 15 and 10 percent respectively. The market leader four years back, BlackBerry is currently occupying the fourth position and its market share also has decreased drastically (27 to 3 percent).
