School of Sport and Exercise Sciences I would like to welcome all new Stage 1 students to the School of Sport and Exercise Sciences at the University of Kent and hope that this will be the beginning of an exciting new chapter in your life. You will have already been sent information and a “Getting Started” leaflet, please find within this pack some information that will be of use to you and help you to settle into university life as quickly as possible. After the initial registration weekend on 15/16 September, the School of Sport and Exercise Sciences is running a series of events during the week 17 21 September which will give you the opportunity to meet staff, fellow students, become familiar with the campus and sort out any questions you may have before teaching starts on Monday 24 September. The Sports Studies events commence at 2.30 pm on Monday 17 th September in the Pilkington Building with a department welcome, giving you your first opportunity to meet the staff and for some you, your co-students. It is important that you attend this event and all timetabled sessions and I will explain in more detail what will be happening during the rest of the week. I look forward to meeting you all on Monday 17 September. Best wishes Professor Louis Passfield Head of the School of Sport and Exercise Sciences WELCOME TO NEW STUDENTS BY THE HEAD OF SCHOOL
