The Kapow Platform The Kapow data integration and automation platform is the fastest way to acquire, enhance, and deliver information to enterprise applications. Integrate Information from a Wide Variety of SourcesThe Kapow platform delivers access to structured and unstructured data in databases, file and email systems, web applications, on-premise and cloud applications, and content management systems. It handles dynamic sites built with JavaScript and AJAX techniques, accesses databases, and extracts data from Excel, XML, XLS, PDF, RSS feeds and from APIs based on SOAP, REST, XML and JSON.

For sources without APIs, Synthetic API™ technology enables you to wrap an existing application and simulate API functionality without coding. The Synthetic API approach requires no changes to the underlying application but still leverages the application’s business rules and built-in security, while providing bi-directional interaction with applications with full support for CRUD (create-read-update-delete) operations

Build Integration Flows with Design StudioThe Kapow integration and automation platform includes the Design Studio and Management Console. Kapow Design Studio is a visual, fully integrated development environment (IDE) for codeless building of high performance data integration flows.

Its unique point-and-click editor enables you to build integration flows in minutes by navigating an application as you would in a web browser, or natively interacting with existing APIs and web services by directly editing XML or JSON.

Design Studio is optimized to support interactive web technologies using HTML5 and advanced JavaScript frameworks; it offers the ability to save browser sessions to be used as data objects across integration steps for improved efficiency when building data integration flows. It includes an integrated debugging environment for instant error correction and refining flows before they are pushed to production.

The Kapow platform is a secure, scalable offering composed of three layers:

Publish and Govern with Management ConsoleOnce built, integration flows are uploaded to Kapow Management Console. From here, integration flows can be scheduled for batch or on-demand execution, or published as lightweight applications called Kapow Kapplets™ for use by business consumers. Kapplets can run multiple data integration flows in parallel for optimal performance.

The Management Console provides web-based governance and monitoring of the Kapow platform. Role-based administration allows secure, granular control over integration projects, access rights and viewing of integration results. Administrators can define user access to Kapplets using LDAP or Active Directory, or leverage the built-in user management capabilities.

The Management Console also deploys integration flows as REST/SOAP web services and enables integration with data endpoints such as documents, email, Hadoop and SQL or NoSQL databases. It also automatically creates APIs needed to invoke, or be invoked by Java, .NET or BI tools.

Deliver and Explore Data with Kapow KappletsIntegration flows are delivered as Kapplets to the Kapow KappZone™ enterprise library to be discovered and retrieved by business consumers. They can select the Kapplets needed to be installed in their personal My KappZone library and run Kapplets on demand or on a schedule. Kapplets enable users to run and manage thousands of data automations and integrations at any time based on any specified criteria. Users can explore data results presented as tables and graphs by sorting and filtering, and take actions by submitting data to downstream systems.

With Kapplets, enterprises striving to make smart, data-driven decisions no longer have to be held back by the volume or complexity of integrating information. Overtaxed IT teams do not have to spend cycles building APIs or modifying existing ones. Kapow Platform SpecificationsThe Kapow platform integrates readily into any IT environment by supporting a wide variety of enterprise standards.

Agile, High Performance Data Integration Creation: The Kapow integrated design environment includes design, deployment, QA and production support tools, including performance dashboards, a scheduler and viewers for data sources and targets.

Read/Write Access to Data Endpoints: Enable read/write capabilities to Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Sybase, NoSQL databases and the Hadoop/ Hbase framework. Broad BI and data analytics support includes Kofax Atlosoft, SAP Business Objects, IBM Cognos, Oracle Hyperion and Clarabrige. Get access to email, FTP, RSS and web services.

Support for Multiple Data Types: Leverage data transformations for database types (binary, timestamp, varchar, char, etc), HTML, XML, JSON, CSV, PDF and JavaScript. Design Studio has dedicated views for rendering HTML, XML and spreadsheets. Support for regular expressions, data mapping and conversions (string, numeric, date, time). Get support for multi-byte and bi-directional character sets.

Support for Visual Data Exploration: Kapplets can be designed to present datasets in pages that consist of tables, graphs or a combination of both. Interactive filtering is supported so that filtering in the table will automatically update the graph. If a part of the graph is selected, the table will update accordingly to show the selected data.

Flexible, Scalable Deployment: Run integration flows on-premise or in the cloud. Deploy any flow as a Kapplet. Deploy into Salesforce.com/Apex. Deploy into any application server, use any standard orchestration server. Automatically create standard Java, .NET, SOAP and RESTful interfaces. Call out to external programs or REST and SOAP web services. Execute workflows via sockets with SSL or via JMS.

Extensive Security Controls: The platform provides role-based access to the platform and to KappZone, secured with LDAP, Active Directory or built-in user management capabilities. It provides alerts and a complete historical record of any transaction. It authenticates against sites and web services using user ID/password, basic authentication, NTLM, OAuth or digital certificates.

Standards-Based Governance and Management: The platform includes a complete browser- based management console for production management and monitoring. Also works with existing JMX/SNMP-based management tools such as IBM Tivoli, HP OpenView, Oracle Enterprise Manager and CA Unicenter.
