Why Pirate Christmas Carols...? Why not?!

Pirates, rogues and wenches, gather round with ale and add some silliness to your holiday festivities with these songs!

Deck the Ship! (To the tune of “Deck the Halls”)

Deck the ship, the Roger, Jolly!

Fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la ARRR!

With flags of black and parrot, Polly! Fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la ARRR!

Eat the cookies, steal the presents!

Fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la ARRR!

Plunder all, from rich to peasants!

Fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la ARRR!

See the blazing ship before us.

Fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la ARRR!

Walk the plank or join the chorus.

Fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la ARRR! Follow me in every pleasure.

Fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la ARRR!

While I tell of pirate treasure.

Fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la ARRR!

Gather round on crates and benches

Fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la ARRR!

Tip the grog and spank the wenches

Fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la ARRR! 'Fore the ale gets any paler

Fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la ARRR!

Shave another drunken sailor

Fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la ARRR!

Avast, Full of Danger (To the tune of “Away in a

manger”))

Avast, full of danger

The pirates have come They’re violent and nasty

And downright vile scum

the jolly roger is hoisted up high

our crewmen are finished

Prepare to die

With cutlass and pistol

pirates board our poor ship

we’re vastly outnumbered

some rum I do sip I offer my brew to the pirate near

right

He smiles in surprise

and stops briefly the fight

I notice his bright scarf,

gold earrings, fine knife.

And wonder if maybe

I’d like a pirate life? I quickly surrender; the code I

will sign

I say loud and clearly,

“A pirate’s life is fine!”

Silent Night, Deadly Night (To the tune of “Silent Night”)

Silent night, dark, black night.

The sea is calm, pirate's delight.

Round yon cruise ship laden with gold Sneak aboard, the crew we blindfold

Let them rest in peace

Let them rest in peace.

Silent night, Charades night Pirate raid, under moon light

Silent running to catch their prey

Quietly miming what they have to say

First one to talk walks the plank

First one to talk walks the plank

Silent night, groggy night

Sailors quake, at the knife

Pirates as skilled on land as at sea Make the grog-drunken sailors pay heed

Teach them to ne'er drop their guard

Teach them to ne'er drop their guard.

Walk the Plank (To the tune of “Walking in a Winter

Wonderland)

Cannon fire. Are ya listnin'?

Pirates board, steel glistnin' Screams in the night.

A bloodthirsty fight.

"Walk the plank, ye scurvy scallawag!"

In the air, smoke is spreadin' While the pirates are beheadin'

The ship, it will sink

Down in the drink

As the Jolly Roger floats away.

On the high seas, we can steal some plunder

Pillage, burn, and all-around get down!

All who hear will come to fear the thunder

When we and our rapscallions come around!

Later on, we'll set fire

To the jail, and watch the pyre,

Rememb'ring the way

We said it today, "Walk the plank, ye scurvy scalawag!”

No Ale! (To the tune of “Noel”)

Spending stolen loot with a bounty on our heads.

We pirates were spotted. To the docks we fled.

Despite the rush, how could we forget?

But soon we were filled with much tears and regret.

No ale! No ale! No ale! No ale! Six months at sea with no Dark, Stout or Pale!

We look-ed ‘round in the ship that night. Opening every barrel from portside to right.

Dried pork, hard tack, and some peaches with fuzz. But nothing fermented to give us a buzz.

No ale! No ale! No ale! No ale! Six months at sea with no Dark, Stout or Pale!

The captain was a-feared of the angry horde.

So he took out the resumes of the pirates on board.

The candle burned down,

till he found in his file. The deck hand he hired

was a brewer’s child! No ale! No ale! No ale! No ale!

Six months at sea with no Dark, Stout or Pale!

We all gathered round, he had only begun.

“Get me all of the peaches, six buckets and sun!”

The carousing that night

was heard twenty leagues away. If you listened, you’d hear

what we pirates did say. More ale! More ale! More ale! More ale!

Drink Peach Hard Cider and remember this tale!

Ahoy, To Your Ship (to the tune of Joy to the

World)

Ahoy, to your ship!

The pirates come.

And we prepare to board! Our cannons fire true.

And we outnumber you.

So give us all your gold.

Yes, give us all your gold.

Throw down your weapons. And give us gold.
