Prepared forSuccessThe BSN Completion program is aunique collaboration of six universitiesacross the University of WisconsinSystem. This partnership givesstudents several convenient options inwhich to pursue their degree. Nomatter which institution you choose asyour "home", you will receive a qualityeducation because the six corecourses are taught from experts acrossthe system. Through the UW-Eau Claire programyou will establish relationships withother BSN Completion students whenyou come together face-to-face in theclassroom for a few immersive

sessions during the first and lastcourses in the program. Theseopportunities also offer anenvironment where ideas areexchanged and lifelong connectionsare made between colleagues.

Why UW-Eau ClaireAccreditationThis program at UW-Eau Claire is fullyaccredited and approved by theWisconsin State Board of Nursing andthe Commission on Collegiate NursingEducation.

Hands-On ExperienceAs a clinical cultural immersion courseopportunity, gain new experiences bytraveling to the Rosebud Reservation,home of the Lakota Sioux Nation,where you will promote healthcare forchildren and families within the

context of the community.Additionally, you will provide care atthe Rosebud Comprehensive HealthCare Facility and in the communitywith the Public Health NursingDepartment. Alternatively, you mayparticipate in a community/publichealth project closer to your home.

Course Work / Pre-ProfessionalCourses• Six core nursing courses (18 credits)

and upper division nursing electives(6 credits) are offered online. Eachcore course originates from one ofthe six participating universities. 

• Nursing electives are also offered ona rotating basis. 

• Online courses require computeraccess. 

• CND 310 (bridge to professionalnursing) and CND 480 (capstoneclinical) are hybrid courses, meaningthey are taught partially face-to-faceon campus and partially online.Selected sections are offered at thedistance education site inMarshfield, Wisconsin, dependingon enrollment.

• The clinical component of CND 480can usually be arranged near thestudent's place of residence andmeets the UW-Eau Claire Service-Learning requirement.

• All students must have a WisconsinRN license by designated deadlines.Nursing application deadlines areMarch 1, April 1, June 1, October 1,and November 1.

Program OptionsLiberal education classes may be takenat any college or university that offerscourses that transfer to UW-Eau Claire.Nursing courses are taught over theinternet, but are only available tostudents registered at the College ofNursing and Health Sciences at UW-Eau Claire or UW campuses inMadison, Oshkosh, Milwaukee, GreenBay, or Stevens Point. Internet nursingcourses originate from all sixparticipating universities.Prepare for Graduate EducationThe RN/BSN/MSN option is a programthat facilitates the progression ofqualified BSN Completion students

into the master’s degree program atUW-Eau Claire. The program enablesyou to enroll in selected graduatecourses (e.g., Nursing Research andLeadership in Nursing) whilecompleting the BSN degree.

Special AdmissionGuidelinesEnrollmentFormal application to the BSNCompletion Program must be made inthe semester prior to enrolling innursing courses. Students may applywhile in the final semester of theirtechnical college program. Thedeadlines for filing applications to theCollege of Nursing and HealthSciences are March 1, April 1, June 1,October 1, and November 1.Admission RequirementsIn order to be considered foradmission to the BSN CompletionProgram at UW-Eau Claire, applicantsmust have:• Graduated with an associate degree

from a nationally accredited ADNProgram (e.g. NLN, NLNAC, ACEN)with at least a 2.50 GPA

• A current Wisconsin R.N. license*• Admitted to UWEC in good standing• Completed at least 30 transferable

credits with 2.50 overall GPA• Completed at least 3 of 5 required

science courses with a least a 2.5GPA

• Fill out and submit all materials inadmission packet, including theapplication, application fee, officialtranscript from associate degree ordiploma program, and evidence ofWI RN licensure.

NOTE: Official transcripts from alleducational institutions attended,including high school, are needed.
