Dear Student,

We are pleased to inform you that you have been

accepted into the Quidditch Association at Texas State. Term

begins on September 15th. We await your owl by no later

than September 8th.

The Quidditch Association at Texas State is a unique

organization that brings the magical sport of Quidditch to

life. Fourteen members will be selected to compete on the

Intercollegiate Team against other universities. All othermembers may compete on behalf of their House in the

House Games that will be played throughout the year. House

points will be awarded for games and attendance at

meetings and events. An End of Term Feast will be held in

the spring and the House with the most points will be

honored.

General meetings will be held every other Thursday at

7:30 p.m. Members might also expect such events as

monthly movie screenings, a Halloween Feast, the First

Annual Horcrux Hunt, a Yule Ball, and various other

fundraising events as well.

You may submit your completed New Membership

Packet and dues to the BobQ.A.T.S. booth at the Student

Organization Fair on September 7th and 8th or submit it to an

Officer at another prearranged time. If we do not receive

your New Membership Packet by September 8th, we cannot

guarantee that you will be sorted at the Start of Term Feast.

Students will not receive a membership t-shirt or be able to

participate in member-only events until after dues have

been received.

Liability Waiver/Membership ContractThis document is a release form for the purposes of the

Quidditch Association of Texas State. The purpose of the QuidditchAssociation at Texas State is to allow the members of the TexasState University community the chance to participate in the sportthat is Quidditch. The sport of Quidditch is a co-ed, full contactsport. As a full contact sport the signer understands that theinstances of injury or death may happen. The signer agrees that it isby no means the responsibility of the Quidditch Association toassure the complete safety ofthe players. And that it is the responsibility of the signer to providetheirown safety equipment for the game of Quidditch. This means that

the personsigning this is in full understanding that they are putting their ownsafety atrisk, and are not being forced to do so by any party what so ever.By signingthis document you are hereby completely releasing Texas StateUniversity, the Quidditch Association of Texas State, the officers ofthe Quidditch Association of Texas State, the other members of theQuidditch Association of Texas State, and the InternationalQuidditch Association and its affiliates from all liability ofyour injury or death. By signing this you understand that this is a

bindingcontract between you and the Quidditch Association. Any attempt tohold theseparties responsible will be a breach of this contract, and may resultin legalaction against you. By signing this you are also submitting that youdo notsupport anyone taking any legal action on your behalf against TexasState University, the Quidditch Association of Texas State, theofficers of the Quidditch Association of Texas State, the othermembers of the Quidditch Association of Texas State, and the

International Quidditch Association and its affiliates. And that if sucha third party should take legal action it is your wish to the court thatthe charges be dropped because you were in full understanding ofwhat you were getting into by playing the sport of Quidditch.

By signing this you do hereby agree that you will do everything inyour power to assure the safety of both yourself and those aroundyou. With the signing of this document the Quidditch Association of

Texas State agrees to allow you to participate in its Quidditchgames and events. The Quidditch Association of Texas Statereserves the right to forbid any person from participating in itsgames and events. Anyone found breaking this agreement will beprosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
