For over thirty years EVA has been the “State of the Art” cushioning material in the footwear industry.

Thirty years is a long time, and now it’s behind the times...

We would like to introduce you to the future of cushioning, we call it…

R-MAT

Page 4: New injection technology-rubber

What is R-MAT?

R-MAT is really a new material.

While we call it injection rubber it’s actually a proprietary formulation. However the compound has been specially formulated so it can be used in current day IMEVA injection machines. We pelletized the compound for easy shipping while assuring compound control.

R-MAT applications

R-MAT is primarily used as cushioning foam in the production of world class sock liners, midsoles, outsoles, and midsole / outsole single units.

You want to run faster, cut quicker, and last longer?

R-MAT can help.

AMAZING ENERGY RETURN: R-MAT scores above EVA in both rebound and compression set testing. Meaning it doesn’t like to stay compressed so when you push down it pushes you back up giving you the boost you need to run faster.

Run Faster!

EXCELLENT TRACTION: R-MAT scores above EVA on both the static and kinetic friction indexes. It is even equally competitive or better than rubber. So when you go to plant your foot and cut R-MAT grabs faster, harder, and longer so you can do it with more power and quickness.

Cut Quicker!

Last Longer!

INCREDIBLY DURABLE: R-MAT not only returns energy through rebound, it has excellent collapse resistance so it will continue to return energy long past the average life of a shoe. This coupled with low volume loss on DIN abrasion testing makes for a long lasting cushion. Cushion that lasts longer means you last longer.

R-MAT Material Segmentation.

R-MAT can be used in a number of ways, from a plush sock liner, to a midsole, to an outsole, to a complete midsole / outsole bottom unit, it can even replace rubber as an insert, and more. Each of these applications requires a slightly different adjustment in the formulation and in the mold. Based on those adjustments we have developed three segments of material that will suit most needs.

SPECIAL NOTE: Because R-MAT has smaller expansion percentage than IMEVA we can use bigger molds allowing you to get excellent detail out of your design.

What can this mean for you and your business?

2 - Better Products because R-MAT performs better than EVA. The tests show it... it’s true. There are big differences in compression sets and in traction. These differences allow you to use R-MAT as a midsole / outsole, saving you the molds and production of gluing rubber onto bottoms.

1 -Better Products with no real change in your current process. R-MAT is injected just like IMEVA the only difference is the expansion rate is much less so the molds are not as small. This is a huge advantage as you can get much greater detail into your product.

3 - Everybody is looking for “meaningful new” and that is exactly what R-MAT is. Change is never easy, unless it pays off in the long run. That’s why changing over to R-MAT will reward those who make the change. Better quality performing products mean increased sales and market share. That may not be in your job description, but if what you bring to the table makes that happen, you win and the brand wins.

We could go on and on about R-MAT but you’ve got to feel it to believe it!
