April Luncheon The Sounds of Jim McBride Thursday, April 12 11:30 a.m. Our luncheons are back! Raffel’s Catering will be providing delectable box lunches filled with tasty wrap sandwiches, tomato tortellini salad, fresh fruit salad, chips and two Soft Batch cookies. You have a choice of wrap sandwich: Turkey Club Wrap, Ham and Swiss Wrap or Vegetarian Wrap. Full descriptions are available at the front desk. The entertainment for this Springtime luncheon is Jim McBride. Jim is best described as a “One Man Band” playing jazz instrumentals on sax, flute, Celtic tin whistle and keyboard. He also performs traditional Celtic tin whistle tunes and sings standards from the Great American Songbook. A great performer and definitely one you do not want to miss! Cost for this luncheon is $8.50 for members and $11 for guests. Please register with payment by Wednesday, April 4th. You must also select your choice of sandwich at that time. Artist and Instructor Cheryl Pannabecker returns to the SCC with a fun class about Carousel Art. Merry-Go-Rounds have been around for many centuries. American artisans took Carousel Art to a whole new level in the late 1800s.

The class will look at pictures of some beautiful and whimsical creations. Properly inspired, they will then assemble their own carousel animals. SYB Opening Day Parade Saturday, April 21 9:00 a.m.Join the Springdale Youth Boosters as they kick-off the spring sports

season with Annual Opening Day Parade. Many of the youth soccer, t-ball, baseball and softball teams will be carrying banners supporting their team and sponsor. The parade begins at Value City heading west on Kemper and continues around Lawnview to the Springdale Community Center. Please come out and help line the parade route to support our local teams.

Men’s Golf LeagueThe City of Springdale Parks and Recreation is now taking registrations for its 9-Hole Men’s Summer Golf League at The Mill Course. Teams from last year receive priority into the league. The league will run 18 weeks; Wednesday, April 11 through Wednesday, August 15, weather permitting. Beginning March 1, registration will be open to non-members for an additional $25 fee. Please stop by the Community Center and see Matt or call 346-3910 if you are interested.

Do You Believe in Bigfoot?Tuesday, March 20 7:00 p.m.Join us as the research group TriState Bigfoot visits the SCC for an informative seminar. TriState Bigfoot was founded in 2009 as an investigative research team seeking evidence for the existence of a large North American legend referred to as Bigfoot. Their primary objective is to collect evidence for scientific study but the group also researches the creature itself to try and establish a diet and migration pattern. They collect the information and let the public decide for themselves if they believe! You don’t want to miss this fun seminar.

CrowsWednesday, April 11 6:45 p.m. Join volunteer naturalists, Cody and Arnie Hildebrand, as they share the PBS documentary “Murder of Crows” and lead an informative discussion on these very interesting birds.

9:30 a.m.- 2:30 p.m.This is the nation’s first and largest classroom refresher for motorists age 50 and older. When you complete the course, you will feel more confident, comfortable and enjoy driving more! You may even get an auto insurance discount- check with your insurance agent.
