A Word From Our Executive DirectorIt is a challenge every year to try to list all of God’s blessings over the past year into one small section of

thisAnnual Report. There is so much that cannot be seen or categorized into the written word: Miracles oflives changedand relationships built; victories of families reunited; testimonies of hearts softenedandmindsenlightened; and yes, some terrible personal tragedies. Some day I would love to write a book thatcontains nothing but the individual, personal stories of our New Horizons family. In the meantime, I will justshare someof thehighlights from theministry and its programs. It is difficult to realize that another year has come and gone and

thatNewHorizonsYouthMinistries hasbeenministering tohighpotential, underachieving youth for over 33 years. We celebratedour Founder’s Day on September 25, a beautiful fall day withoutdoor activities, music by a local youth praise band, a deliciousbanquet, testimonies, and door prizes. We enjoy so much havingour“family reunion”everyyear!

We are deeply grateful to our prayer and financial partners whohave caught the vision with us and have been so faithful. We could accomplish nothing without them. Justlook at what has been accomplished through their support:

Dominican Republic: We have had many exciting changes this year, including the birth of a newsummer program. The Mountain ViewAcademy is an all summer (10-Week) program inthemountainous central regionof theDominicanRepublic dedicated todevelopinghighachievement and self-esteem in boys and girls. This was started as an addition to our 10-week summer camp in Missanabie, Canada and has been rated a great success by bothstudents and staff. The campus was also given a new look this year with the addition ofa large gazebo, a new kitchen, and a beautiful diningcommons.

Missanabie WoodsAcademy: Forty five studentsattended our life-changing summer camp in Canada this

year.Your prayers were answered and we had a safe summer. Our shore-line property was purchased, thanks to many faithful donors.

New HorizonsAcademy: In May, we graduated 26 seniors. Theattendees proudly received their diplomas as grateful parents watched.

During the summer, 17 students and 13 staff conducted a missions trip to NewYorkCity where lives were touched and changed for the glory of God.

The ministry received the blessing of a donated 2001 van. This van not only allowsstaff to travel to parent meetings in safety and comfort, but it has also provided ourDominican Republic staff with transportation when they are working at our headquar-ters in the States. We were very blessed with a largegift that has allowed us to start a Scholarship Program. This is providing assistance to parents above andbeyond the grants New Horizons is able to provide. We are so grateful for this much needed program.

The photos scattered throughout this publication will hopefully help “tell”the 2004 story. Feel free to call the office if you would like any additionalinformation. Thank you for all of your prayers and support. But evenmore, I thank our heavenly Father who trusts us with these young andtender hearts. - Tim Blossom

NEW HORIZONS YOUTH MINISTRIESSTATEMENT OF FAITH

• We believe the Bible is God’s Word, that it was written by men Divinely inspired and that it is the Christian’s supreme, infallible authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

• We believe in God the Father, perfect in holiness, infinite in wisdom, measureless in power. We rejoice that He concernsHimself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from Sin and Death all that come toHim through Jesus Christ.

• We believe Jesus Christ is divine, the second person of the holy Trinity, the eternal and only begotten Son of God,conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, sinless in life, making atonement for the sins of the world by His death. We believe inHis bodily resurrection, His ascension and visible return to the world according to His promise.

• We believe in the Holy Spirit who came forth from God to convince the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgment and toregenerate, empower, sanctify and comfort those who receive Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.

• We believe that all people, by nature and by choice, are sinners but that “God so loved the world that He gave His onlybegotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” We believe, therefore, that those who infaith and repentance accept Christ as Lord and Savior will experience moral and spiritual transformation, and rejoice forever inGod’s presence: that those who refuse to have Christ as their Lord and Savior are forever lost and separated from God.

• We believe the Church is a living spiritual body of which Christ is Lord, and of which all true Christians are members. Webelieve that a local church is a company of baptized believers associated for worship, instruction, fellowship and service.

• As our Lord Jesus Christ commissioned His followers to go into all the world with the Christian Gospel, we accept thiscommission to be the great unfinished task of the Church. Furthermore, we believe all other valid ministries are agenciesministering in behalf of the Church and whose ultimate objective is to build up the Church to the Glory of Jesus Christ our Lord.
