Variety of artwork to be displayed
Beside 3D design, students have worked on a variety of projects
this year. In the fall students learned about the traditional Mandalas of India
and Nepal and created their own. Each student has also had a turn on the
pottery wheel this year to make one thrown and glazed bowl or cup. There
will also be paintings from students using ideas they learned from studying
Cubism and the work of Georgia O’Keeffe. Also, Ms. Van Praag will have
The Naturals perform live at 6pm. Please make it if you can. It is an incredi-
ble night for the community.

ART SHOW
Students at the UES have worked hard this year to produce some amazing work and they deserve a night to celebrate their
achievements. Every student at the UES will have one art work framed in the show. If you would like to keep the frame, please
consider making a $25 donation to the NHSD H.S.A. with 100% of the proceeds going towards next year’s show and art supplies.
Profits in the past have gone towards technology like iPads, 3D printers, and green screens for teaching students how to create digi-
tal art like photography, 3D design and stop motion animation as well as traditional arts like special tools for ceramics. This year we
learned how to play chess and they designed their own pieces on Tinkercad. There will be some student designed sets printed out on
a 3D printer for the art show. Feel free to play a game while you are at the show. By the end of the year we hope each student gets
to print one of their own pieces.

Volunteers Needed to Make the Show Possible
The Art Show has become a great annual event for our students, but it does take a lot of planning and work to make it possible. I simply would never be able to do it without the help of our dedicated families. Please consider volunteering this year to help prepare and set up the art show. More details on the back.
