Program Overview Hospitality Services is a broad term used to describe a range of careers available in the hospitality industry. Do you want to work in a fast-paced organization that needs happy, smiling people? Do you like to work with your hands? Do you want to be part of the “front-of-the-house”, dealing with customers, or are you more comfortable working in the “back-of the-house”? You will enjoy the variety offered in the curriculum, and the hands-on experience gained, which could potentially lead to jobs such as room attendant, front desk clerk, food service, cook or a job in the maintenance department of a hotel. You will also spend two days a week in a placement at a restaurant or hotel that will give you the practical experience to complement the theory learned in class. You also have the opportunity to take two certification exams in Sanitation and Beverage Services, thus graduating with the confidence and required skills to work in this industry.

Program Overview The Massage Therapy program focuses on the assessment and hands-on treatment of the muscles, fascia and joints of the body to improve or maintain optimal physical health, function and mobility. Massage Therapy historically has been viewed as a wellness strategy and is increasingly recognized as an important avenue of rehabilitation for people recovering from surgery, sports injuries or motor vehicle accidents.

You will learn and implement a variety of techniques including: Swedish massage, facial and rhythmic techniques, trigger point therapy, remedial exercise, stretching techniques, wax baths, whirlpools and steam cabinets. In Centennial’s on-site Massage Therapy Clinic, students interact directly with clients that come with a wide range of complaints while having the guidance and support of an experienced Registered Massage Therapist faculty member.

Program Overview

This two-year program combines strong conceptual thinking with a practical knowledge of machines and how they work. You will learn engineering theory and develop computer-assisted drafting and computer-assisted manufacturing (CAD/CAM) skills. Centennial’s Mechanical Engineering Technician program employs the project approach to learning. This includes small groups working on specific projects, learning how to plan, schedule, create, design and build as a team.

You have the choice of continuing into a third year technology option and specializing in modern manufacturing and production processes.

Program Overview This program combines courses in engineering theory and practice. It focuses on the design and development of various mechanical devices and equipment. You will obtain a thorough grounding in engineering sciences and skills, including computer-assisted drafting and manufacturing (CAD/CAM), as used in industry. In addition, a new course has been added to introduce the engineering technologist to Finite Element Analysis using ANSYS Software.

About one-quarter of the program time is spent on project work. Projects simulate workplace assignments, relating classroom theory to the actual design, manufacture and testing of projects.

Program Overview

This program prepares you to work in the automotive industry with an emphasis on motor vehicle technology. Theory and practical training equip you for challenging positions in a variety of careers.

The first semester is common to both the administration and technical streams, which allows you time to choose which is right for you. Moving into second semester, the administration stream covers accounting, marketing and statistics, as they relate to the automotive industry. The technical stream focuses on applied mechanics, vehicle dynamics and properties of materials, providing a good understanding of component design.

As part of the curriculum, you will train on automobile assemblies in fully-equipped automotive shops. Both streams provide the same vehicle technology, and in-school content as the Automotive Service Technician (AST) apprenticeship qualification, and prepare students to enter the industry as well as be successful on exemption testing for licensing qualification.
