New features SW 2.1 The HAMILTON-C2 is designed to provide respirato- ry support to neonates, infants, pediatrics and adults. With its compact design, built-in batteries and ultra-qui- et turbine, this ICU ventilator can accompany your pa- tient anywhere within the hospital, independently of central gas and power supplies. The customizable Ventilation Cockpit TM on the HAMILTON-C2 provides the exact information you need to focus on what is important. You can choose to display conventional waveforms, the ASV graphic, the Dynamic Lung or the Vent Status panel or even an optional volu- metric capnogram to allow efficient assessment of the ventilation therapy on a breath to breath basis. The In- telligent panel graphics visualize the patient’s ventilator status and dependency in an easy-to-understand form. Software version 2.1 on the HAMILTON-C2 allows you the flexibility to choose your optimal care strategy with a choice between two alternative timing strategies in controlled modes or with the possibility to easily switch between conventional PSIMV+ and PSIMV+ with ad- ditional IntelliSync enabling a more gentle ventilation. A 72h trend complements your monitoring possibilities. New features SW 2.1

The HAMILTON-C2 is designed to provide respirato-ry support to neonates, infants, pediatrics and adults. With its compact design, built-in batteries and ultra-qui-et turbine, this ICU ventilator can accompany your pa-tient anywhere within the hospital, independently of central gas and power supplies.

The customizable Ventilation CockpitTM on the HAMILTON-C2 provides the exact information you need to focus on what is important. You can choose to display conventional waveforms, the ASV graphic, the Dynamic Lung or the Vent Status panel or even an optional volu-metric capnogram to allow efficient assessment of the

ventilation therapy on a breath to breath basis. The In-telligent panel graphics visualize the patient’s ventilator status and dependency in an easy-to-understand form.

Software version 2.1 on the HAMILTON-C2 allows you the flexibility to choose your optimal care strategy with a choice between two alternative timing strategies in controlled modes or with the possibility to easily switch between conventional PSIMV+ and PSIMV+ with ad-ditional IntelliSync enabling a more gentle ventilation. A 72h trend complements your monitoring possibilities.

Timing in controlled modesTiming strategies for controlled modes differ from country to country and from hospital to hospital. Some prefer to set the rate and the inspiration time Ti and other clinicians prefer to set the rate and the inspiration-expiration ratio I:E to define the timing of mandatory breaths in controlled modes. Software version 2.1 configuration settings provide you the flexibility to define which ventilation philosophy you prefer to set the breathing time for the controlled modes PCV+ and (S)CMV+.

IntelliSyncHamilton Medical’s Adaptive Support Ventilation (ASV) has been on the market since 1996 and numerous studies and customer experiences prove its superiori-ty in comparison to conventional modes. Tassaux et al. shows that in spontane-ous breathing patients, the same minute ventilation can be obtained with less signs of increased respiratory muscle load and patient-ventilator dyssynchrony with ASV than with SIMV-PS.1 With IntelliSync you are able to take advantage of theses benefits also in other modes like NIV-ST, nCPAP-PS and optionally in PSIMV+. IntelliSync lets your pa-tiet breathe fully spontaneously if the set guranteed rate can be maintained and thus allows a better synchronisation and facilitates the weaning process.

72h trendingTrends are an important tool to monitor the course of the characteristic ventila-tion parameters of a patient. The 72h trending introduced to the HAMILTON-C2 with software version 2.1 allows you to leave the ICU on Friday evening, come back on Monday morning and have all relevant data at a glance.
