Logistix Solutions Announces ProLogix for Power Users and Larger Models
Many of our users turn to Logix to solve relatively simple problems that require straightforward supply chain models. These might include models that incorporate fewer than one thousand demand points, like all the 3-Digit Zip Codes in the United States, or just demand in the 250 largest cities using population data as a representation of demand.
Some users expand these simple models to include overseas suppliers and ports of entry, cross dock, or pooling facilities to improve distribution efficiencies or service parameters to ensure faster delivery.
Another set of users require more modeling horsepower with suppliers, demand points, and products that are in the thousands of combinations or locations that require international mapping and geocoding data bases with a high degree of precision.
These capabilities often impose additional costs for maps and data, or simply involve more complex solvers and software tools.
In order to satisfy our users’ requirements, we’ve created ProLogix which includes the following additional features and capabilities:
• Larger problem size using Dynamic Memory Allocation up to the limits of your hardware – standard Logix is generally used to solve problems up to 2500 demand points and 250 distribution centers.
• International Geocoding Data Bases including Postal Code and Population data where available.
• Precise driving distance and times using PC Miler or Google Maps Distance APIs.
• Driver and Vehicle Scheduling Optimization to augment Transportation Optimization.
• Special map overlays and business intelligence reporting interfaces to improve usability and presentation.

ProLogix Enhanced Features and Data
• Larger Models and Solutions – Standard Logix is generally used to solve problems with up to 2500 demand points and 250 distribution centers. ProLogix now expands this using Dynamic Memory Allocation to scale performance up to the capacity of your hardware – handling up to 25 product category groupings and virtually unlimited demand points, suppliers and products.
• International Geocoding Databases. Standard Logix includes both 3-Digit and 5-Digit US geocoding data as well as global data that include city and state/province with latitude/longitude data. ProLogix includes these as well as global databases for Spain, Italy, Germany, France, Mexico and other countries around the world with Postal Code data and population data where available.
• Precise Distance and Time Data. ProLogix includes a new capability to automatically look up driving distance and time between any origin/destination worldwide using Google’s Distance API interface.
To use this feature, simply “select” the Distribution Centers or depots from your data as origins and the Customers from your data as destinations and access the Rates/Distances tab and Distance Table feature, “Find” and “Load” the origin/destination pairs automatically to access and load the actual driving distance and estimated time from Google Maps and check “Use External Rates/PC Miler Distances”. You can “Load” previously saved distance tables without using “Find”, “List” distances in the table, “Erase” previously saved distance files, create new distance tables, add to previously loaded tables, etc.
Google limits the number of origin/destination “elements” for a single query, but you can run multiple queries and add to a previously loaded or saved table to build the distance table you require.
• Driver and Vehicle Schedules. Logix Transportation Optimizer has included the Driver and Vehicle Schedule interface as a standard feature. This capability is now only available in ProLogix.
• Special Map Overlays and BI Report Interfaces. Users can now display a Radius of Service in the map display or export the data and solution(s) to various business intelligence and report writers for further modeling or presentation.
