Greetings Friends, Help us raise money for Big Brothers Big Sisters. Go to: www.events.org/JubinClimb We are ready for the mountains once again!!! On July 11th our team of eight climbers will head up Mt. Rainier and Mt Adams (a total elevation of 26,686 ft) to raise money for Big Brothers Big Sisters. We ask for your kind support of this great organization. Last year’s climb was a tremendous success with over $20,000 raised nationally; $6,000 of that coming from all of you. As promised last year, the $6,000 was donated to the Metro Atlanta Chapter of Big Brothers Big Sisters. That donation funded the matching of six Atlanta children with mentors…WOW!!! Now that is a meaningful and wonderful outcome. To help match even one child makes it worthwhile but six is amazing. The money raised this year will once again go directly the Metro Atlanta Chapter. To view the BBBS Press Release from last year’s climb, go to: www.bbbsatl.org As most of you know, the climb was tenuous last year as we were held up in our tents in snow and ice storms accompanied by winds up to 75 mph for over 12 hours on Mt Rainier at 11,100 ft and again for 14 hours on Mt Adams at 9,000 ft. The storms denied us the summit on both mountains but certainly provided us with a very unique and memorable experience. With that said, if we successfully summit both mountains this year it will add over one mile to the total elevation we achieved last year. Needless to say we are training hard….I spend most weekends doing laps on Stone Mountain wearing a 70 lb backpack…not to mention two-a-days during the week. Please feel free to respond with any questions you have about Big Brothers Big Sisters, the climb or the training. We are grateful for your financial support and also ask that you pray for the successful matching of the children seeking mentors as well as the safety of all of the climbers. Thank you and have a great day!!!!

Peace.

Enthusiastically,

Brad Jubin, CCIM

Safety is a Year-Round Priority for REALTORS®

NAR is committed to help educate and empower every one of our 1.3 million members to ensure that they make good choices and practice personal safety on the job.

Look For REALTORS® Safety Tips in each upcoming issue of the Friday Facts.

Safe home, safe garage. Help keep your home safe by covering garage windows. There is a lot about your garage you don’t want potential criminals to know about - such as whether someone is home, or if there are tools or ladders available to help break into your home. If you have an attached garage, make sure the door that connects your house to the garage is a solid core exterior door with a deadbolt lock.

Block identity theft. Contact the fraud department of any of the three consumer reporting companies - Equifax, Experian and Trans Union - to place a fraud alert on your credit report. The fraud alert automatically lets credit card companies and other creditors know they must contact you before opening any new accounts or

making any changes to your existing accounts.

Our goal is to raise $10,000 to cover the expenses for FCBR “Noel

November” event.

Realtors can help by volunteering at The Clothes Less Traveled

Thrift Shop. We need 1000 volunteer hours worked before

November 1 (we have 300 hours logged as of June 1).

Please contact Chris Flanigan for more information about

volunteering ([email protected]).

The Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR®) designation is the benchmark of excellence in buyer representation.

This coveted designation is awarded to real estate practitioners by the Real Estate BUYER’S AGENT Council (REBAC) of the National Association of REALTORS® who meet the specified educational and practical experience criteria.

Four (4) requirements must be met to attain and use the ABR® designation:

1. Successful completion of the two-day ABR® Designation Course, including an 80% passing grade on the exam.

After successful completion of the ABR® Designation Course, you will have three (3) years in which to complete the other ABR designation requirements.

2. Successful completion of one of the ABR® elective courses, including an 80% passing grade on the exam, within three (3) years of completing the ABR® Designation Course (go to www.REBAC.com for a list of elective courses).

3. Documentation verifying five (5) completed transactions in which you acted solely as a buyer representative (no

dual agency). Any transactions closed prior to taking the ABR® Designation Course or closed within three years

after completing the ABR® Designation Course are eligible for credit. Documentation necessary for each of your five (5) completed transactions:

● Copy of the signed buyer agency agreement OR purchase/sale agreement OR disclosure. The contract must verify the agent’s name and/or include the agent’s signature as the buyer’s agent. Providing only the name

and/or signature of the buyer’s agent’s broker is not sufficient. AND

● Copy of the closing/settlement statement verifying that each transaction closed.

4. Membership in good standing the Real Estate BUYER’S AGENT Council and the National Association of REALTORS®.

Please note: The first year membership in REBAC is free with the ABR® Designation course. However, every year thereafter will require payment of annual dues.
