New Delhi, Nov 26- The Jammu and Kashmir Day celebrations were inaugurate d by the Deputy Chief Minister at Pragati Maidan, here today.  The Deputy Chief Minister took around of various stalls of business entrepreneurs and departments, who participated in the Indian International Trade Fair (IITF) organized by India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO). As many as 33 stalls were occupied by the business entrepreneurs.  The Deputy Chief Minister was highly appreciative of the way the stall holders displayed their commodities and showcased their talent and skill. He said that the indigenous arts and crafts of the State are famous worldwide and have a great demand for which sale centers and showrooms all over the country need to be established.  Tara Chand said that beautiful handicrafts of all the regions of J&K State such as Bamboo crafts, Basholi paintings , earthen pottery from Jammu, Thanka painting from Ladakh, Paper machie, Walnet wood carving, Namda, Qallin, Gabba etc. from Kashmir are beautiful crafts are required to have vast market facilities because handicrafts boost employment generation.  The Dy. Chief Minister also said there is a large scope to organize such Trade fairs at Domestic and International level for promotion of art and crafts of Jammu and Kashmir. He was informed by the Director Handicraft that Rs.1.25 crore sale has been made since last six days of the Trade Fair. Later, the Deputy Chief Minister lightened the tradition lamp at Lal chowk theater Pragati Maidan where the cultural programme was performed which depicts the rich diverse cultural ethos of Jammu and Kashmir. The focus of programme was folk music and dances of Jammu and Kashmir State such as Rouf, Chajja, Bhand Pather, Geetru, Chakri, kud, Ladakhi Jabro. On the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister appreciated the performances of the artists and said that they have presented the spectrum of “UNITY IN DIVERSITY” which is the hall mark of the State. He said that craftsmen representing in IITF 2010 are the ambassadors of J&K state which is a secular state and every person can enjoy the beauty of the state and state crafts. Large number of people attended the cultural programme, paying ovation to the artists.  The Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce, Principal Secretary Coordination Resident Commission, New Delhi, Director Handicrafts J&K state and other senior officers and entrepreneurs of J&K were present on the occasion. trade fair was 'clean and energy efficient technology, products and services'.

''Bihar has immense potential in tourism sector. Tourists can now not only find theinformation on tourist places and packages, but they can also make reservations forthem and the hotels and guest houses as per their interest and make paymentonline.

 The state government's attempt to provide these facilities online through a singlewindow and at reasonable rates has been received very well by the people,'' saidGajendra Singh, an official of the Tourism Department.

A unique success story in the Pavilion was that of power generation from rice husk in Turkaulia village in the state which has attracted attention of the world community.

Rural BPO, run by youth of Saurath village of Madhubani district was also a centre of attraction at the IITF.

 The places of tourism, rich tradition of art and culture, festivals and cuisines were ondisplay.

Ajay Kumar, an official of Bihar Industrial Area development Authority(BIADA) saidthe Authority has received more then 10 proposals from the investors.

''We received 9 proposals for food processing in Hazipur, Betia and Muzaffarpur andone proposal for a chain of Management Institution. Investors shown their keeninterest to invest in Bihar,'' he added. Handicraft stalls of Upendra MaharathiSansthan and Silk stalls became the centre of attraction among the visitors for theirunique handicraft made by bamboo, coconut shell, bronze teracota etc. A 'Sindurbox' made of bamboo was in much demand in female visitors. Apart from this, stallsof Madhubani painting, bangles, sujani works, handloom works were a hit amongvisitors. Foreign visitors showed keen interest in knowing various tourist places of thestate.
