For the past 7 years, she has had Pulmonary Hypertension, a cardiovascular disease that constricts blood vessels and forces the heart to work harder than it should. The problem is that it causes most movement to be difficult, and it can make people really short of breath, even when they just walk across a room. Imagine how you feel after Running Day or a good jog. That’s how Cordelia feels just walking down the hall! Worse, it’s so disabling that it prevents Cordelia from doing the things she loves -- like taking dance lessons and going to school. Imagine being so exhausted all the time that school looks like a treat! Even though there is currently no cure, there is hope for Cordelia and other kids like her! When you come to the D25 Middle School Staff Showdown, you’re supporting continued research for better treatments, as well as increased understanding of this debilitating disease. We can help create a brighter future for those affected by Pulmonary Hypertension. Let’s get Cordelia dancing again!
