NEW CITY WEBSITE WORKS WELL ON ALL DEVICES
UTILITY REMINDERS AND TIPS
We launched a new website last month. You will still
find us at MidwestCityOk.org. The new site is designed
to work well on any device you choose — your desktop,
laptop, tablet or smartphone. Because this site works so
well on smartphones, it has replaced our MyMWC app.
Some of the highlights of the
website are new tabs at the top:
Your Government; City
Departments, Business &
Development (for our businesses);
Your Community; and Explore
Midwest City (with links from
around our community).
Under Your Community, you find
links for Job Opportunities, ways to
Contact the City, a form to Submit a Request or
Concern; our Ordinances, and the link to our Garage
Sale Permits.
Also under Your Community is the link to MWC Notify
where you can sign up to receive emails and/or texts
from the City when we have urgent or emergency
information to share.
On our new homepage you will see a
link to Maps. That link will take you
to several different types of maps
produced by our Geographic
Information System (GIS) team for
your use. There are maps of our Parks
and Trails, Bus Routes and Stops,
City Zoning, Restaurants, and several
others.
Scroll down to Calendar and Projects,
and you’ll find our events and
meetings listed. Click on any of them for dates, times,
locations and all of the details!
component of the meter system because it sends out a
signal which can be read via a drive by unit rather than
physically opening the lid.
Many customers don’t realize the cost to replace the lid
or the transmitter is your responsibility. (TIP: Some
customers put stakes around the meter as a reminder
not to mow over it.)
TIPS FOR TRASH COLLECTION
Just a reminder, we aren’t able to collect any bags or
boxes placed next to your cart. If you need more than
one trash cart, we can provide an additional cart for
$7.16 per month. Call 739-1066 for more information.
(When you add another cart, we ask for a one year
commitment for the new cart.)
Make sure to put your cart at the curb by 7 a.m. with
at least five feet of clearance from any object such as
vehicles, trees, mail boxes or other cars.
PAYMENTS VIA DOXO APP
There is an online/app bill pay service called doxo.
This service is not associated with our utility
department or the City of Midwest City. We wanted
our utility customers to know that this service charges
you a fee.
Doxo’s service also sends a check in the mail for the
payment. It does not use an electronic payment to our
utility department so your payment could be late, if
you don’t plan for time for it to be mailed.
MOWING OVER METER LIDS
We are asking our customers to take extra care around
your water meter lids and be aware not to run lawn
mowers over them, drive over them or otherwise put
undue pressure on them. If the cover is damaged by a
lawn mower or other equipment, the cost to replace
the lid is $28.90. If the transmitter is damaged, the
cost to replace it is $120. The transmitter is a critical

TALL GRASS ATTRACTS ... Mice and rats
Mosquitoes
Snakes
Crime
Did you know that tall grass is a pest paradise, attracting many disease-carrying varmints?
It’s because of these community health and safety issues that lawns with grass and weeds over 12 inches are in violation of our ordinances.
For more information, call Neighborhood Services at 739-1005.
Whether it is information about holiday trash collection, City festivals and events, street closings, or other City news, there are several ways to Stay Connected to what’s happening in MWC. CHECK FOR LEAKS
Here’s a tip to find a leak … put a few drops of food coloring or a dye tablet into your toilet tank. Wait 15-20 minutes without flush-ing and check to see if the colors shows up in the toilet bowl.
If so, you have a leak. A quick and easy seal replace-ment should stop your water loss.
