One of the main keys to prolonging the lifespan of your extensions is to rehydrate and protect. We moisturise our skin, so why not our hair? A good moisturising barrier will do just this. The best moisture for hair is actually water. Internally, a well hydrated body means that there is sufficient moisture for hair function. Externally, it means that the hair can maintain elasticity and suppleness. As extensions are not fed by the body, it is essential to hydrate and feed them manually. For moisturising your extensions, water is the king. However, your extensions are porous and keeping this moisture in is next to impossible without sealing it in. The best way to trap moisture in your extensions is to use a sealant.Moisturisers/sealants are made of large molecules. These molecules are too large to be absorbed by the hair strand.Instead, what they do is coat the strands and seal in the moisture that is already in the hair. So the key to preventing dry extensions is to hydrate and seal whilst avoiding the drying effects of products that are not designed to help. This is why we always recommend that you test products for yourself. If our results are as beautiful as we claim, and the lifespan of the extension is lengthened, is this not everything that you would want to ask from an aftercare product? “Sulphates” - should you or shouldn’t you?The issue with sulphates is a strange one! Many people say, “no sulphates,” but when you try to get to the bottom of, “why not?” – the water gets very muddy. We researched this extensively, and the 2 best answers that we could find were these:1. SLS & SLES (the most common sulphates in shampoo) were rumoured to be harmful to the environment and should not be used. SLS = sodium laureth sulphate, and SLES = sodium laureth ether sulphate. Most people shortened them to just “sulphate”. This caused the rumour to grow that “sulphates” (all sulphates) were bad. This is not the case.2. It also seems that certain extension manufacturers were unhappy that very effective alternative shampoos became available, which affected sales. They changed their formula to something that was a little more exclusive to them, and then encouraged the rumour that sulphates were not safe. We think it is a good idea to ask yourself a question. If sulphates are fine for “real hair,” why are they not fine for “real hair extensions”? Is it the quality of the shampoo, or the quality of the extension that is the issue? Is it the bond?When you consider that sulphates are still formulated into cutting edge shampoo technology, by the finest leading laboratories on the planet, are used in the absolute top shampoos of the world, and used by the most discerning and well educated elite of society, it does begin to make you think!

Black Rock is designed to correct the signs of premature hair ageing by

accurately darkening the lighter grey strands WITHOUT DYE. Utilizing

exceptional levels of Black* Pigment, the effect is amazing, darkening

not dying the greys to a deeper, richer, younger tone. Years of premature

ageing can be wiped away in an instant application – that will last until

the product is either washed out of the hair or naturally wears off.

Black Rock Styling Clay has a strong hold, so only a little need be

applied. The use of a protective glove is recommended, as the black

pigment will work as effectively on the skin as it will on your hair! Once

fully dry, Black Rock will hold your hair, and will not transfer to collars

or other contacted surfaces. If wetted (sweating or other forms of

moisture), avoid surfaces as transferences may occur. Avoid visible areas
