THE UNIVERSITY OF ADELAIDE IS SEEKING EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST TO OPERATE THE UNIVERSITY BAR AS A POP UP

A fantastic opportunity exists for an experienced food and beverage operator to partner with the University of Adelaide in the activation of Union House through the operation of the NEW Uni Bar from March 2019.

Attractive incentives for motivated and innovative operators include:

THE VISION

A vibrant and lively campus is a cornerstone of the University’s vision for its staff, students and community. The role of the bar is a central part of the student experience, offering food and beverage and live entertainment on a regular basis.

It is the University’s desire to see the bar able to accommodate and appeal to a wider audience and range of uses. This vision imagines students and staff using the facility for:

• Informal learning and collaboration

• Breakfast, lunch and dinner meals alone or in groups

• Snacks between times

• Celebrations and gatherings for milestone birthdays, farewells and team wins

• Bands, comedy and other entertainment

The University is making a significant investment to re-locate the Student Bar to the ground level of Union House (the current bar will close) where the footprint will be expanded to offer an

accessible and highly visible indoor/outdoor space with full bar and kitchen facilities and a stage area. The outdoor courtyard is a shared space and bookable by others which will require the proponent to work with other groups in the use and activation of the space at different times throughout the two year trial period.

Significant landscaping, planting and indoor/outdoor furniture to accommodate various configurations is also being provided.

This brand new fit out will be provided by the University of Adelaide with an attractive rent free period over an initial two year period.

Bar opportunity commences 21 March 2019

There will be potential opportunity to partner with the University for a permanent bar after the trial period.

The successful operator needs to ensure that a live music program is delivered and supplemented with an additional event program.
