ADELPHI UNIVERSITY CAREER OUTCOMES SURVEY CLASS OF 2018
The Center for Career and Professional Development is collecting annual career outcomes via Graduate Outcomes survey to provide insight into the employment or continuing education status for Adelphi University undergraduates and graduates within an average of 6 months of their graduation date. Additionally, the data provides detailed employment information, salary statistics, and graduate school information. This reports examines career outcomes of 1,325 (770 undergraduates and 555 graduates) Adelphi University students who received their degree from December 2017 ̶ May 2018. Of those completed the survey, 95% of respondents reported either working (76%) or continuing education (19%) within six to nine months after graduation. The Class of 2018 career outcomes rate is 95%, almost 12% higher than the national average.

Summary and Conclusion: Results of this survey inform the University’s progress in achieving Momentum’s
goal “to be relentlessly dedicated to student success” and more specifically, its key
initiative “to prepare students for careers and lives of purpose”.
1,325 graduating Class of 2018 completed the career outcomes survey, an
increase of 56% from Class of 2017, generates 70% response rate.
Within six months of graduation, 95% percent of respondents reported working,
continuing their education, or volunteering approximately 6 months after
graduation.
The Class of 2018 career outcomes rate is 95%, almost 12% higher than the
national average.
Mean average annual salary for full-time employment for Class of 2018 increased
from $64,807 to $69,561 compared to last year.
Salary Comparisons:
o $62,895 – average annual base salary of 2018 baccalaureate
graduates
o $72,247 – average annual base salary of 2018 grad students,
compared to the national average graduate student salary of
$65,725
Northwell Health, NYU Winthrop, NYC Department of Education, St. Francis
Hospital and Catholic Charities were the top five employers.
Healthcare, Education, and Non-Profit/Social Assistance were identified as top
three job industries for Class of 2018.
Asked to indicate the institution they were attending, respondents identified
Adelphi University, Columbia University, New York University, Fordham University,
and New York Institute of Technology most often.
Forty percent of respondents used the Center’s services during their time at
Adelphi including resume review, Strong Interest Inventory, internship/job search,
mock interview, on-campus recruitment, and job fairs.
