#here are two actual outloo1s on the world possessed !y every man and the ancient

story tellers were fully conscious of these two outloo1s. #hey called the one the carnalmind and the other the mind of Christ.

4e reco"ni5e these two centers of thou"ht in the statement: #he natural man receivethnot the thin"s of the pirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he1now them !ecause they are spiritually discerned. % Cor. 2:6

#o the natural mind reality is confined to the instant called now7 this very momentseems to contain the whole of reality everythin" else is unreal. #o the natural mind the

past and the future are purely ima"inary. %n other words my past when % use the natural

mind is only a memory ima"e of thin"s that were. nd to the limited focus of the carnalor natural mind the future does not e8ist. #he natural+mind does not !elieve that it couldrevisit the past and see it as somethin" that is present somethin" that is o!9ective andconcrete to itself neither does it !elieve that the future e8ists.

#o the Christ mind the spiritual mind which in our lan"ua"e we will call the fourth+dimensional focus the past the present and the future of the natural mind are a presentwhole. %t ta1es in the entire array of sensory impressions that man has encountered isencounterin" and will encounter.

#he only reason you and % are functionin" as we are today and are not aware of the"reater outloo1 is simply !ecause we are creatures of ha!it and ha!it renders us totally

!lind to what otherwise we should see7 !ut ha!it is not law. %t acts as thou"h it were themost compellin" force in the world yet it is not law.

4e can create a new approach to life. %f you and % would spend a few minutes every dayin withdrawin" our attention from the re"ion of sensation and concentratin" it on aninvisi!le state and remain faithful to this contemplation feelin" and sensin" the realityof an invisi!le state we would in time !ecome aware of this "reater world this

%n this story =esus is the awa1ened intellect of man. 4hen your mind functions outsideof the ran"e of your present senses when your mind is healed of all the formerlimitations then you are no lon"er the insane man7 !ut you are this presence personifiedas =esus the power that can resurrect the lon"in"s of the heart of man.

0ou are now the woman with the issue of !lood. 4hat is this issue of !lood@ runnin"wom! is not a productive wom!. he held it for 2 years she was incapa!le ofconceivin". he could not "ive form to her lon"in" !ecause of the runnin" of the issueof !lood. 0ou are told her faith closed it. s the wom! closes it can "ive form to the seedor idea.

s your mind is cleansed of your former concept of elf you assume you are what youwant to !e and remainin" faithful to this assumption you "ive form to your assumptionor resurrect your child. 0ou are the woman cleansed of the issue of !lood and you movetowards the house of the dead child.

#he child or state you desired is now your fi8ed concept of yourself. ut now havin"assumed that % am what formerly % desired to !e % cannot continue desirin" what % amconscious of !ein". o % do not discuss it. % tal1 to no one concernin" what % am. %t is soo!vious to me that % am what % wanted to !e that % wal1 as thou"h % were.

4al1in" as thou"h % am what formerly % wanted to !e my world of limited focus doesnot see it and thin1s % no lon"er desire it. #he child is dead within their world7 !ut % who1now the law say #he child is not dead. #he damsel is not dead she !ut sleepeth. %

now awa1en her. % !y my assumption awa1en and ma1e visi!le in my world what %assume for assumptions if sustained invaria!ly awa1en what they affirm.

% close the door. 4hat door@ #he door of my senses. % simply shut out completely all thatmy senses reveal. % deny the evidence of my senses. % suspend the limited reason of thenatural man and wal1 in this !old assertion that % am what my senses deny.

4ith the door of my senses closed what do % ta1e into that disciplined state@ % ta1e noone into that state !ut the parents of the child and my disciples. % close the door a"ainstthe moc1in" lau"hin" crowd. % no lon"er loo1 for confirmation. % completely deny the

evidence of my senses which moc1 my assumption and do not discuss with otherswhether my assumption is possi!le or not.

4ho are the parents@ 4e have discovered that the father+mother of all creation is mans %,ness. ,ans consciousness is God. % am conscious of the state. % am the father+

mother of all my ideas and my mind remains faithful to this new concept of self. ,ymind is disciplined. % ta1e into that state the disciples and % shut out of that stateeverythin" that would deny it.

Now the child unaided !y a man is resurrected. #he condition which % desired and

assumed that % had !ecomes o!9ectified within my world and !ears witness to the powerof my assumption.

0ou !e the 9ud"e % cannot 9ud"e you. 0ou are either livin" now in the dead past or youare livin" as the woman whose issue of !lood has !een stanched. Could you actuallyanswer me if % as1ed you the Euestion:

Do you !elieve now that you without the assistance of another need only assume thatyou are what you want to !e to ma1e that assumption real within your world@ (r do you

!elieve that you must first fulfill a certain condition imposed upon you !y the past that

you must !e of a certain order or a certain somethin"@

% am not !ein" critical of certain churches or "roups !ut there are those who !elieve thatanyone outside of their church or "roup is not yet saved. % was !orn a ?rotestant. 0outal1 to a ?rotestant there is only one Christian a ?rotestant. 0ou tal1 to a Catholic whythere is nothin" in the world that is a Christian !ut a Catholic. 0ou tal1 to a =ew and theChristians are heathens and the =ews are the chosen. 0ou tal1 to a ,ohammedan =ewsand Christians are the infidels. 0ou tal1 to someone else and all these are theuntoucha!les. %t does not matter to whom you tal1 they are always the chosen ones.

%f you !elieve that you must !e one of these in order to !e saved you are still an insaneman hidin" !ehind these superstitions and these pre9udices of the past and you are

!e""in" not to !e cleansed.

ome of you say to me Do not as1 me to "ive up my !elief in =esus the man or in,oses the man or in ?eter the man. 4hen you as1 me to "ive up my !elief in thesecharacters you are as1in" too much. Leave me these !eliefs !ecause they comfort me. %can !elieve that they lived upon earth and still follow your psycholo"ical interpretationof their stories.

(f what are you conscious of !ein"@ lthou"h you cannot see your o!9ective with thelimited focus of your three+dimensional mind you are now that which you haveassumed you are. 4al1 in that assumption and remain faithful to it.

#ime in this dimension of your !ein" !eats slowly and you may not even after you

o!9ectify your assumption remem!er there was a time when this present reality was !utan attitude of mind. ecause of the slowness of the !eat of time here you often fail to seethe relationship !etween your inner nature and the outer world that !ears witness to it.

#he pool is your consciousness. #he an"el is an idea called the messen"er of G(D.

Consciousness !ein" God when you have an idea you are entertainin" an an"el. #heminute you are conscious of a desire your pool has !een distur!ed. Desire distur!s themind of man. #o want somethin" is to !e distur!ed.

#he very moment you have an am!ition or a clearly defined o!9ective the pool has!een distur!ed !y the an"el which was the desire. 0ou are told that the first one into thedistur!ed pool is always healed.

,y closest companions in this world my wife and my little "irl are to me when %address them second. % must spea1 to my wife as you are. % must spea1 to anyone no

matter how close they are as 0ou are. nd after that the third person $e is. #here isonly one person in this world with whom % can use the first person present and that isself. % am can !e said only of myself it cannot !e said of another.

#herefore when % am conscious of some desire that % want to !e !ut seemin"ly am notthe pool !ein" distur!ed who can "et into that pool !efore me@ % alone possess the

power of the first person. % am that which % want to !e. -8cept % !elieve % am what % wantto !e % remain as % formerly was and die in that limitation.

%n this story you need no man to put you into the pool as your consciousness is distur!ed!y desire. ll you need do is to assume you are already that which formerly you wantedto !e and you are in it and no man can "et in !efore you. 4hat man can "et in !eforeyou when you !ecome conscious of !ein" that which you want to !e@ No one can !e

!efore you when you alone possess the power to say % ,.

#hese are the two outloo1s. 0ou are now what your senses would deny. re you !oldenou"h to assume that you are already that which you want to !e@ %f you dare assumeyou are already that which your reason and your senses now deny then you are in the

pool and unaided !y a man you too will rise and ta1e your couch and wal1.

0ou are told it happened on the a!!ath. #he a!!ath is only the mystical sense ofstillness when you are unconcerned when you are not an8ious when you are notloo1in" for results 1nowin" that si"ns follow and do not precede.

Continuin" with the story the disciples come to =esus and say ,aster eat. =ohn 6:3

ut he said unto them % have meat to eat that ye 1now not of. =ohn 6:32

4hen they spea1 of a harvest in four months =esus replies ay not ye #here are yetfour months and then cometh harvest@ ehold % say unto you lift up your eyes andloo1 on the fields7 for they are white already to harvest. =ohn 6:3

s a man thin1eth in his heart so is he. %f % could now sin"le out the 1ind of mental food% want to e8press within my world and feast upon it % would !ecome it.

Let me tell you why % am doin" what % am doin" today. %t was !ac1 in 33 in the city ofNew 0or1 and my old friend !dullah with whom % studied $e!rew for five years wasreally the !e"innin" of the eatin" of all my superstitions. 4hen % went to him % was

filled with superstitions. % could not eat meat % could not eat fish % could not eatchic1en % could not eat any of these thin"s that were livin" in the world. % did not drin1% did not smo1e and % was ma1in" a tremendous effort to live a celi!ate life.

%n Novem!er 33 % !ade "ood!ye to my parents in the city of New 0or1 as they sailedfor ar!ados. % had !een in this country 2 years with no desire to see ar!ados. % wasnot successful and % was ashamed to "o home to successful mem!ers of my family. fter

2 years in merica % was a failure in my own eyes. % was in the theatre and mademoney one year and spent it the ne8t month.% was not what % would call !y their standards nor !y mine a successful person.

,ind you when % said "ood!ye to my parents in Novem!er % had no desire to "o toar!ados. #he ship pulled out and as % came up the street somethin" possessed me witha desire to "o to ar!ados.

%t was the year 33 % was unemployed and had no place to "o e8cept a little room onF

4hen % came !ac1 to New 0or1 in 36 after three heavenly months in ar!ados %dran1 % smo1ed and did everythin" % had not done in years.

% remem!ered what !dullah had said to me fter you have proven this law you will!ecome normal Neville. 0ou will come out of that "raveyard you will come out of that

always succeeded. ,y many mista1es in this world my many failures would convict meif % told you that % have so completely mastered the movements of my attention that % canat all times remain faithful to the idea % want to em!ody.

ut % can say with the ancient teacher althou"h % seem to have failed in the past % moveon and strive day after day to !ecome that which % want to em!ody in this world.uspend 9ud"ment refuse to accept what reason and the senses now dictate and if youremain faithful to the new diet you will !ecome the em!odiment of the ideal to whichyou remain faithful.

%f there is one place in the world that is unli1e my little island of ar!ados it is New0or1 City. %n ar!ados the tallest !uildin" is three stories and the streets are lined with

palm trees and cocoanut trees and all sorts of tropical thin"s. %n New 0or1 City you must"o to a par1 to find a tree.

0et % had to wal1 the streets of New 0or1 as thou"h % wal1ed the streets of ar!ados. #oones ima"ination all thin"s are possi!le. % wal1ed feelin" that % was actually wal1in"the streets of ar!ados and in that assumption % could almost smell the odor of thecocoanut lined lanes. % !e"an to create within my minds eye the atmosphere % would

physically encounter were % in ar!ados.

s % remained faithful to this assumption some!ody canceled passa"e and % received it.,y !rother in ar!ados who never thou"ht of my comin" home has the commandin"ur"e to write me a stran"e letter. $e had never dictated to me !ut this time he dictatedand thou"ht that he ori"inated the idea of my visit.

% went home and had three heavenly months returned lst Class and !rou"ht !ac1 Euite asum of cash in my poc1et a "ift. ,y trip had % paid for it would have !een 3AAA yet% did it without a nic1el in my poc1et.

0ou are either the woman of amaria or =esus at the well. 0ou are the man waitin" on

the 'ive ?orches for the distur!ance and someone to push him in7 or you are the onewho can command yourself to rise and wal1 in spite of others who wait.

re you the man !ehind the tom!stones in the cemetery waitin" and !e""in" not to !eclean !ecause you do not want to !e cleansed of your pre9udices@ (ne of the mostdifficult thin"s for man to "ive up is his superstitions his pre9udice. $e holds on to theseas thou"h they were the treasure of treasures.

4hen you do !ecome cleansed and you are free then the wom! your own mind isautomatically healed. %t !ecomes the prepared "round where seeds your desires can

0ou cannot !e distur!ed when you feel you are what you want to !e !ecause if you feelyou are what you wanted to !e you are satisfied in that assumption. #o others who 9ud"esuperficially you seem no lon"er to desire so to them the desire or damsel is dead. #heythin1 you have lost your am!ition !ecause you no lon"er discuss your secret am!ition.0ou have completely ad9usted yourself to the idea. 0ou have assumed that you are what

you want to !e. 0ou 1now he is not dead she !ut sleepth. % "o to awa1en her.

% wal1 in the assumption that % am and as % wal1 % Euietly awa1en her. #hen when sheawa1ens % will do the normal natural thin" % will "ive her to eat. % will not !ra" a!out itand tell others % simply "o and tell no man. % feed this state % now li1e with my attention.% 1eep it alive within my world !y !ecomin" attentive to it.

#hin"s that % am not attentive to fade and wither within my world re"ardless of whatthey are. #hey are not 9ust !orn and then remain unfed. % "ave them !irth !y reason ofthe fact that % !ecame conscious of !ein" them. 4hen % em!ody them within my world

that is not the end. #hat is the !e"innin". Now % am a mother who must 1eep alive thisstate !y !ein" attentive to it. #he day that % am not attentive % have withdrawn my mil1from it and it fades from my world as % !ecome attentive to somethin" else in myworld.

0ou can either !e attentive to the limitations and feed these and ma1e them mountainsor you can !e attentive to your desires7 !ut to !ecome attentive you must assume you arealready that which you wanted to !e.

lthou"h today we spea1 of a third+dimensional and a fourth+dimensional focus do notthin1 for one moment these ancient teachers were not fully conscious of these twodistinct centers of thou"ht within the minds of all men. #hey personified these two andthey tried to show man that the only thin" which ro!s him of the man he could !e isha!it. lthou"h it is not law every psycholo"ist will tell you that ha!it is the mostinhi!itin" force in the world. %t completely restricts man and !inds him and ma1es himtotally !lind to what otherwise he should !e.

e"in now to mentally see and feel yourself as that which you want to !e and feastupon that sensation mornin" noon and ni"ht. % have scoured the i!le for a time

interval that is lon"er than three days and % have not found it.

%f % could completely saturate my mind with one sensation and wal1 as thou"h it werealready a fact % am promised Jand % cannot find any denial of it in this "reat !oo1K that %

do not need more than a three day diet if % remain faithful to it. ut % must !e honesta!out it. %f % Chan"e my diet in the course of the day % e8tend the time interval.

0ou as1 me ut how do % 1now a!out the interval@ 0ou yourself determine theinterval.

4e have today in our modern world a little word which confuses most of us. % 1now itconfused me until % du" deeper. #he word is action. ction is supposed to !e the mostfundamental thin" in the world. %t is not an atom it is more fundamental. %t is not a partof an atom li1e an electron it is more fundamental than that. #hey call it the fourth+

dimensional unit. #he most fundamental thin" in the world is action.

0ou as1 4hat is action@ (ur physicists tell us that it is ener"y multiplied !y time. 4e!ecome more confused and say -ner"y multiplied !y time what does that mean@#hey answer #here is no response to a stimulus no matter how intense the stimulusunless it endures for a certain len"th of time. #here must !e a minimum endurance tothe stimulus or there is no response. (n the other hand there is no response to timeunless there is a minimum de"ree of intensity. #oday the most fundamental thin" in theworld is called action or simply ener"y multiplied !y time.

#he i!le "ives it as three days7 the duration is three days for response in this world. %f %would now assume % am what % want to !e and if % am faithful to it and wal1 as thou"h %were the very lon"est stretch "iven for its reali5ation is three days.

%f there is somethin" toni"ht that you really want in this world then e8perience inima"ination what you would e8perience in the flesh were you to reali5e your "oal anddeafen your ears and !lind your eyes to all that denies the reality of your assumption.

%f you do this you would !e a!le to tell me !efore % leave this city of Los n"eles that
