Presidents Report – Craig Hollins Instructor Training with YV went extremely well, the wind conditions were favourable for sailing instruction, but waves were fun for the rescue component. Further discussion on the content and additional requirements, to achieve Coach qualification – National Power Boat Handling Certificate. End of Season – thanks to Simon Chambers, Mick Green and Roy Worner, along with all others involved – positive feedback about the venue and catering. Perhaps we could look at an additional event for Season Opener? Perhaps aligning with the world event for vessels on the water (charity fundraiser for the Americas Cup sailor who passed away). Vice-Presidents Report (Incl Media) – Michael Green Refer to General Business. Membership Report – Peter Nathan Approximately 107 paid up members, with a few being received in the last few weeks. Still concerned about the expiring members who were not financial for the full year, and how this may affect our costs to YV. Mick Green – suggested that as a result of recent Treasurer role changes, and to create a better invoicing system and integration to YV etc, we should consider moving to an e-system for our finance and admin. This has benefits for reporting and providing meaningful information, on usage of club equipment for submission with grants. Mick Green has obtained a few quotes for potential systems, appears to be in the $200-$300 range. Mick Green is happy to take the project on, and suggested that we implement this in line with changes to the Treasurers role. Development – Dan Poynton Dan commented on the YV Course – found the Instructors course very interesting particularly the finer details and syllabus components. Dan also commented that the initial Windsurfing Program provided on the course, appears to be more oriented to a Yacht Club environment. Dan mentioned that YV are interested in updating their pictures and content – perhaps this is an opportunity for the club to partner and provide images, content and potentially via Mick Green – video content. A great recognition of the committee in achieving such a significant part of our plan, and presents many significant opportunities going forward. Country Action Grant Scheme – is chasing feedback as to why we were unsuccessful. The ‘Sporting Uniform Grant’ is available now – up to $1000.

Perhaps we could look at buying some club rashies – ie: a set for a junior development program. Motion to accept Reports as presented. Moved by: Natasa Worner Seconded by: Mick Green Motion passed Agenda Items: Craig Hollins – Events for next season: We need to begin to think about what worked well last year and what could be done better. Simon Chambers – The next Women on Windsurfers event could align with the International Womens Day. Further discussion about using the Labour Day long weekend. So long as prior notice is given, to encourage people to spend the weekend in Inverloch. Craig Hollins – Suggested we consider a Freerace event, proposed a 1hr GPS based event to be held in Inverloch over different conditions. Committee discussed various proposals of events held in Inverloch, Port Phillip Bay, Swan Bay – would further permits be required? Also comments were made regarding the use of GPS’s versus standard sailing approach to buoys and time gates. Consensus that an event should be held, just the format etc to be agreed. Craig Hollins and Dan Poynton will become the Event Coordinators – 3 events Inverloch (November), Port Phillip Bay (February) & Swan Bay / Port Henry (March), with the ISI Challenge ownership being transferred to Doug Hocken. Craig and Dan to develop and report back to committee. ISI Challenge - early December ? Doug commented that we need to see how the events calendar pans out, to see what room we have for this event. Longboard Event – Mid April – this date worked ok with last year’s attendance. Mick Green to continue to be the Event Coordinator. Brass Monkeys – as this event spans over a few months and is up to individuals to sail, this event will remain as scheduled. JP / NP Trailer – Doug Hocken - We are also entitled to Discover Sailing packs if we schedule the Come Try day / Trailer days with the Discover Sailing promotion by YV. Doug to investigate further and advise Craig Hollins. Training Days – Craig Hollins – Do we want do Training Days? If yes, then how many?

Perhaps as a result of poor communication and advertisement of these days last year, may explain why we had low attendance. Before the first Training Days, we need to ensure we have the base syllabus ready for a consistent delivery of training. Potentially 4 days – target groups – Kids Day, Bring a Friend etc: - November, December, January, February & March. Peter Nathan to be Event Coordinator for these training days. Australia Day event, scheduled over the Australia Day Long Weekend. Simon Chambers is happy to pass off the ownership of this event, due to personal circumstances. Dan Poynton suggested that we combine this with one of the training days. The Sail Past should definitely be done, as this gives us public profile. Keeping Kids on Track – we also need to consider what our involvement will be this year – simulator etc ? Season Opener – More of a non sailing social event. Committee agreed that we should use this event along with a sailing day – Doug Hocken suggested that perhaps this be combined with our AGM. Angling Club is suggested for 18th October 2014, Simon Chambers self-nominated for Event Coordinator. Cuttriss St Development Update – Mick Green: The proposal has received final contributions from committee, and we are on track to submit to the Council as required by 23rd June 2014. This will be tabled at the next Council meeting, there is another process before final approval is given. Most likely it will be several months, before we see any action / response from Council. Our outgoing media is being strategically targeted, to promote our need for a permanent base. Windsurfing Australia magazine – Mick Green has spoken to the organizing team, and they are keen to receive any articles. Approx 500-1000 words for short articles, longer articles 3000-3500 words. Any suggestions please refer to Mick Green. Completion of instructors training – Dan Poynton suggested prior to Season Opener in October / November ? The members who attended the YV Instructors Course, have all agreed that they will cover their own costs for the initial course.

General Business: Doug Hocken – Update on Bjorn Dunkerbeck Speed Event. The figure estimated for a two week event in Inverloch, is approximately $20,000 EURO. Bjorn is suggesting mid to late February – this wouldn’t work on water given holiday season, nor availability of accommodation etc. Doug is suggesting we look at proposing the event later in 2015, to allow time to arrange sponsors and to better accommodate a sailing location. Doug has also spoken to potential corporate sponsors for the event – potentially a Wind Farm Engineering company. If we are unable to secure two major sponsors, then we may need to walk away from this opportunity due to the financial costs. Dan Poynton suggested that there may be grants available, for sporting events – including grants available up to $20,000. Doug Hocken – naturally we would prefer to approach sponsors prior to relying on grants. Extensive discussion on suitability of locations and dates, along with further information that Doug is to seek from the organizing committee. Doug Hocken – would like to mention and minute that Mick Green has been nominated for a Media Award, with two other substantial nominees. This reflects the tremendous work that Mick has undertaken, and the prestige for the award. Mick Green – has been receiving demands from Melbourne IT, regarding the domain registration of inverlochwindsurf.net.au. Mick Green has confirmed back that the domain was not used by us, and hopefully this will finalise this matter.

Web hits are interesting – it appears that people are remaining longer on pages. Good hits received from WhereamI and after posting of events. Craig Hollins – will submit articles for Gritty Truth, regarding general fitness. Peter Nathan is continuing to work on the Gritty Truth article, on Oke Surfboard interview. Peter Nathan – WhereamI – This is continuing to get increased patronage, approximately 30 users now. Dan Poynton commented that Vic Health have an app for Team Up – to encourage physical exercise. There are already several Inverloch user groups already promoting their events. Mick Green commented that we may be able to use a widget to burn feed directly from WhereamI to the Team Up app.
