OBSERVATION HOURS

You are required to complete 45 observation hours. Make the most of them. Use those hours to go and explore different campuses and grade levels. Once you have found a campus that you really like and think you might possibly want to one day work there, finish your remaining hours on that campus and begin meeting the staff and administrators.

SUBSTITUTING

Not only is substituting a great way getting some much needed experience in the classroom but it is also a way to start making those much needed connections with the school/isd of your choosing. Any principal will tell you they would much rather hire a familiar face then just some name on an application. So get out there a start meeting your potential employers.

FYI when you are on a campus treat everyday like your being interviewed!!

To start subbing go to the VISD website

Click on the Human Services link

• Then click on Contact Information and find the message below:
