History of HarvestNET AtanEphrataCommunityChurchretreatin1990,Godspokeveryclearlythroughapropheticwordthatsaid“inthefourthyear,IwillpouroutmySpirit.”ThechurchhadjustchosentomodelitselfaftertheearlychurchofAntiochandtookonacalltoprepareforharvestbasedonthefour-yearprediction.TheeldersofECC,agreeingthatthiswasfromGod,concludedthatby1994theyshouldbegintopreparefortheharvestbyplantingachurch.

Inthespringof1994,ECCplanteditsfirstsistercongregation,andHarvestNETwasborntofosterapartneringrelationshipbetweenthetwocongregations.BarryWissler,seniorpastorofECC,continuedtoprovideguidancetothechurchplant’sfoundingpastor,andECCalsoprovidedotherresourcestostrengthenthegrowingflock.In1997,anotherpropheticwordconfirmedtheroleofECCasa“resourcechurch,”andthenextyeartwomorecongregationswereplanted,whichisatrendthathascontinued.WeplantedanewchurchsouthofLancasterCitycalledThresholdChurchin2009,aSpanish-speakingchurchinLancasterCitycalledVidaChurchInternationalinApril2010,andachurchinAnnvillecalledLifewayChurchinSeptember2015.Inadditiontothechurchesplanted,Godconnectedustoothersfromavarietyofministries,andourtinynetworkgrew.Outsidechurchesaskedtopartnerwithus,andprophetsandevangelistswithEphesians4ministriesbegantosenseacalltopartnerforthesakeoftheharvest.

In1999,theapostolicministryofAlanVincentconfirmedtheworkofHarvestNET.AlanbegantoassistBarryandtheeldersofECCinrefiningtheirfocusasaregionalequippingchurch.Alancontinuestoprovideapostolicinput,notonlyintoECC,butalsotoHarvestNET.MarcDupontwasalsorecognizedasanadvisortoHarvestNETbecauseofhispropheticministrytothenetwork.In2013,LarryKreiderjoinedtheoversightteamforHarvestNET,bringingwisdomfromhisexperienceinleadinganinternationalnetworkofchurches.Becausewevalueregionaltransformation,wealsobeganseveralmultichurchministriesunderHarvestNET’sbanner.TheKingdomMinistrySchool,originallyknownastheEquippingInstitute,launchedinthefallof2005totrainleadersforministryinthechurchandmarketplace.KMShasservedmorethan1,400peoplefrom140churcheswhohavetakenclasses.GatewayHouseofPrayerbeganin2006tohonorGodwithprayerandworshipandisnowgoing24/7.Theprayerroomisstaffedbyvolunteersfrommorethan40localchurches.TheGiftInternationalwaslaunchedin2009tocoordinatemissionpartnershipstoministertothepoorestofthepoorinIndiabycaringfororphans,installingcleanwatersystems,andfeedingthehungry.In2013,HarvestNETlaunchedHarvestSENTasavehicleforsupportingandempoweringEphesians4ministersandmissionariesservingwithinHarvestNEToritsmanypartners.In2015,HarvestNETstarteditsmostrecentministry,HarvestNETMinistryRooms,providingprayerforhealing,deliverance,andpropheticministry.

InMay2012,wechangedournametoHarvestNET Internationaltoreflectthegrowinginterestinournetworkanditscontinuedexpansionglobally.HarvestNETcontinuestogrowinEurope,India,andthePhilippines.Leadershipteamsarebeingdevelopedineachcontinentwherethereareclustersofpartnerchurchesandministries.

In2016,theschoolinUSAwasredesignedandnamedTheHarvestNETSchoolofSupernaturalMinistryinordertotrainworkersfortheharvest.Todayover250individualsandorganizationshavepartneredwithHarvestNETtojoinourvision.

Core Values 1. The Presence of God

HarvestNETvaluestheintimatepresenceofthelivingGod.WebelieveGodisarelationalGodwhodelightsinmeetingwithusandloveswhenwespendtimewithHim.WebelieveworshipandprayerareintegraltocreatinganatmospherewherethepresenceofGodbreathesforthpowerandrevealsthegloryofGodonearth.WebelieveintheomnipresenceoftheHolySpirit,butalsothatwearestewardsofHispresencewhenHechoosestomeetwithusinasignificantway.IntheOldTestament,KingDavidpaidworshiperstoattendtoGodandstewardHispresence.WesimplybelievethatJesusisworthyofourworship(Revelation4:11).WebelievethatJesusinvitesustojoinHiminHisministryofintercession.ItisinbeingwithJesusthatwecatchHisheartandareempoweredtointercedeandactsothatHisKingdomwillcomeonearth“asitisinHeaven.”

2. The Kingdom of God HarvestNETvaluestheincreaseandexpansionoftheKingdomofGod.WehonorJesusChristastheworthyKing,andweseektosurrendertothegoverninglaws,morals,principles,power,andvaluesoftheKingdomofGod.WeseektotaketheKingdomofGod“fromthesecretplacetoeveryplace.”TheKingdomofGodiscentraltoallofChrist’steachingsthatHetaughtHisapostlesandcanbesummedupinthefollowingdescriptions:

! KingdomCharacter,CultureandValues:LoveGod.Lovepeople.Liveinfaith.Liveobediently.Liveeternallyfocused.

KingdomProcess:Thisissimply“beingwithJesus.”JesustaughtHisdisciplestowaituntiltheywereenduedwithpowerfromonhighviatheHolySpiritbeingpouredoutBEFOREtheyengagedinfulfillingtheirmandate—totaketheKingdomofGodtothenationsthroughthepreachingofthegospel.WecanbewithJesusinlivingencounterswithHimthroughtimeinprayer,worship,meditationontheScriptures,andsimply“waitinguntil”HereleasesfreshguidancefromHisSpiritanddailypoweronourhearts.

! KingdomPower:ThisistheimpartedeffectandendresultofbeingwithJesus.TheapostlesweretaughttobringtheKingdomofGodthroughdemonstrationoftheHolySpirit’spower.TheywerenotpermittedtotestifyoftheKingdomofGodwithouttheHolySpirit’senablement.GoodoratoryskillsarenotasufficientsubstituteforGod’spowerto

3. The Word & Spirit HarvestNETvaluestheWordofGodascontainedintheScripturesandintheScriptures’partnershipwiththeHolySpiritinalldynamicsofministry.AlongwiththeScriptures,GodalsoleadsusthroughthesubjectivevoiceoftheHolySpiritandpracticallyministerstousthroughHisspiritualgifts.

ManytimeschurchesthatstresstheworkoftheHolySpiritneglectsounddoctrine.ChurchesmayalsofocusonsounddoctrinebutneglecttheworkandvoiceoftheHolySpiritinthispresentage.WevaluetheScripturesasthefinalauthorityinallareasoflifeandpracticalliving.TheScripturesareour“Kingdomtextbook”andalldoctrine(i.e.spiritualthingswebelieve),prophecy,teaching,andprayerarebothinspiredbyandheldaccountabletoitsstandards.

4. Authentic Relationships

HarvestNETvaluesauthenticrelationshipsasthebackboneofournetworkwithinthecontextoftherestofourvalues.This‘authenticity’impliesthatwewanttoknowoneanother,inourweaknessesandourstrengths,andgrowwithoneanotherasweadvancetheKingdomofGodtogether.

Webelieveorganizationalstructureisvaluabletothedegreethatitservesandfacilitatesthesekingdomrelationships.Theideais“formservingfunction”ortheorganizationservingtheorganism.HarvestNETwillchangeoralterstructureasneededtoaccommodatetheseauthenticrelationships.Atitsheart,makingdisciplesimpliesmakingspiritualfamilyor“sonsanddaughters”throughthegospelofChrist.Therefore,wevaluespiritualfatheringandmotheringasessentialforhealthy,kingdom-familygrowth.

5. Team Ministry

HarvestNETvaluesdoingministryasateam.NooneindividualhaseverythingthebodyofChristneeds.Weneedoneanother’sgifts.Wesimplyarebettertogetherandworkasateaminourministries,inourregions,andacrossgenerations.

! MinistryTeamwork:WevaluealltheministrygiftsasfoundinEphesians4andthespiritualgiftsdescribedin1Corinthians12asbeingessentialtothefulfillmentofGod’spurposeforthechurchonearth.Itisimperativethesegiftsworktogetherhonoringandvaluingoneanother.

MultigenerationalTeamwork:In1John2:12-14,threegenerationsofspiritualmaturityaredescribed:fathersandmothers,youngmenandwomen,andchildren.Webelieveandvaluetheseseasonsoflife’sspiritualjourneyandbelieveGodintendsforallthreegenerationstoworktogetherinteamwork.Wevaluethewisdomofthosewhohavelivedlifeandhavegonebeforeusasspiritualfathersandmothers.Wevaluethecreativity,energy,andzealoftheyoungmenandwomen.WerecognizetheneedtoperpetuatethethingsGodhastaughtusandseektobirth,train,andequipspiritualchildren.

6. Health

HarvestNETbelievestheKingdomofGodisaplaceofhealthandvitality.Healthyleaders,healthyrelationships,andhealthyorganizationsreproducehealthydisciples.

! PersonalHealth:Healthyleadersmakehealthyministries.Thisincludeshowaleadermanagestheirtime,theirfinances,andtheirphysicalbody,theirworkethic,andtheir“restethic.”PersonalhealthincludescommitmenttotimewithGodinworshipandprayer,studyoftheScriptures,andinputfromothers.Personalhealthincludesdevotiontoongoingtrainingandpersonalgrowthtohelpthembetterservethoseundertheircare.

! RelationalHealth:Whilewehavementionedtheneedforauthenticrelationshipsinapreviousvalue,relationships—marriage,family,friends,andworkrelationships—needtobehealthy.Forrelationshipstothriveandgrow,theymustbefreefromonepersonseekingtocontrolorimposetheirwillonanother.Forrelationshipstobehealthy,theremustbefreedomofcommunicationinordertoclearlyhearoneanother’shonestperspective.

! OrganizationalHealth:Clearvision,measurablegoals,andanenergizedstaffareallimportanttoorganizationalhealth.Organizationalhealthisnottoodissimilarfromthepersonalhealthcategorymentionedabove.Tobehealthy,itmattershoworganizationsmanagetheirtime,theirfinances,andtheirstaffcare.Itisalsoimperativethathealthydecision-makingprocessesareimplementedandcarriedoutwithdiligence.Healthyorganizationshavegoodorganizationalstructuresthatservethemission,vision,andvaluesoftheorganization.

7. Local Church

ThelocalchurchisGod’sprimaryvehicleforadvancingtheKingdomofGod.Therefore,HarvestNETvaluesexistinglocalchurchesandthecontinuedestablishmentofnewlocalchurchesastheprimarymeansofKingdomexpansion.AllpartnersofHarvestNETarerequiredtodemonstratetheirsupportoflocalchurchesbybeingapracticallycommitted,submitted,andservingmemberofalocalcongregationofbelievers.WeacceptanygatheringofbelieversinChrist,whetherinahousechurch,amega-church,oranysizein-between,wherethereisdefinitiveleadershipofeldersorpastorswhogivedirectionandoversighttothecongregation.Wedonotrecognizegatheringswithoutdefinedleadership/eldershipasalocalchurch,althoughweaffirmJesuscanbeandispresentinsuchgatherings.

Statement of Faith 1. WEBELIEVEthatonlythe66booksoftheChristianBiblearetheinspired,inerrant,andauthoritative

WordofGod.Therefore,theBibleisthefinalauthorityforallwebelieveandhowwearetolive(Matthew5:18;John10:35and17:17;2Timothy3:16-17;2Peter1:20-21).

2. WEBELIEVEintheonetrueGodwhohasrevealedHimself,distinguishablebutindivisible,asexisting

eternallyinthreeperson:Father,Son,andHolySpirit.These,beingoneGod,areequalindeity,power,andglory(Matthew28:19;Luke3:21-22).

3. WEBELIEVEthatGodcreatedtheworldandalsonowupholds,sustains,governs,andprovidentially

allowsordirectsallthatexists.HewillbringallthingstotheirproperconsummationinChristJesustothegloryofHisname.

4. WEBELIEVEthatSatan,originallythegreatandgoodangelLucifer,rebelledagainstGod,takinga

multitudeofangelswithhim.HewascastoutofGod’spresenceandisatworkwithhisdemonichoststoestablishhiscounter-kingdomofdarkness,evil,andunrestonEarth.SatanwasjudgedanddefeatedatthecrossofChristandwill,attheendoftheage,becastforeverintothelakeoffirewhichhasbeenpreparedforhimandhisangels(Isaiah14:10-17;Ezekiel28:11-19;Matthew12:25-29,25:41;John12:31and16:11;Ephesians6:10-20;Colossians2:15;2Peter2:4;Jude6;Revelation12:7-9,20:10).

5. WEBELIEVEthatthehumanracewasoriginallycreatedbyGodinHisimage,righteousandwithout

9. WEBELIEVEthatwaterbaptismandtheLord’sSupperarethetwoordinancesofthechurchtobe

observeduntilthetimeofChrist’sreturn.TheyarenotameansofsalvationbutarechannelsofGod’ssanctifyinggraceandblessingtothefaithfulinChristJesus(Matthew26:26-29,28:19;Romans6:3-11;1Corinthians11:23-34;1Peter3:21).

10. WEBELIEVEthatthechurchisGod’sprimaryinstrumentthroughwhichHeisfulfillingHis

redemptivepurposesintheearth.Toequipthesaintsfortheworkofministry,Godhasgiventhechurchapostles,prophets,evangelists,pastors,andteachers.WealsoaffirmthepriesthoodofallbelieversandtheimportanceofeveryChristianbeingjoinedwithandactivelyinvolvedinalocalcommunityofthesaints.Webelievethatwomen,nolessthanmen,arecalledandgiftedtoproclaimthegospelanddoalltheworksoftheKingdom(Matthew16:17-19;Acts2:17-18,42;Ephesians3:14-21,4:11-16;1Timothy2:11-15;Hebrews10:23-25;1Peter2:4-5,9-10).

11. WEBELIEVEthatGodhascalledthechurchtopreachthegospelofChristandmakedisciplesofall

nations.Thechurchisespeciallycalledtorememberthepoorandtoministertotheirneedsthroughsacrificialgivingandpracticalservice.ThisministryisanexpressionoftheheartoftheLordJesusChristandisanessentialpartoftheKingdomofGod(Isaiah58:6-12,61:1;Matthew5-7,28:18-20;Luke4:18,21:1-4;Galatians2:10;1Timothy6:8).

12. WEBELIEVEintheliteralsecondcomingofChristattheendoftheagewhenHewillreturntoearth

personallyandvisiblytoconsummateHisKingdom.Wealsobelieveinandareprayingforagreatend-timeharvestofsoulsandtheemergenceofavictoriouschurchthatwillexperienceanunprecedentedunity,purity,andpowerintheHolySpirit(Psalms2:7-9,22:27-28;John14:12,17:20-26;Romans11:25-32;1Corinthians15:20-28,50-58;Ephesians4:11-16;Philippians3:20-21;1Thessalonians4:13-5:11;2Thessalonians1:3-12;Revelation7:9-14).

13. WEBELIEVEthatwhentheChristiandiesheorshepassesimmediatelyintotheblessedpresenceof

Christ,theretoenjoyconsciousfellowshipwiththeSavioruntilthedayoftheresurrectionandglorioustransformationofthebody.ThesavedwillthenforeverdwellinblissfulfellowshipwiththeirgreattriuneGod.Wealsobelievethatwhentheunbelieverdies,theyareconsignedtoawaittheDayofJudgmentwhentheyshallbepunishedwitheternal,conscious,andtormentedseparationfromthepresenceofGodinthelakeoffire(Matthew25:46;Luke16:19-31;John5:25-29;1Corinthians15:35-58;2Corinthians5:1-10;Philippians1:19-26,3:20-21;2Thessalonians1:5-10;Revelation20:11-15,21:1-22:15).

Gateway House of Prayer (GHOP) islocatedinEphrata,Pennsylvania,whereweseektohonorJesusChristnightanddaythroughpraiseandworshipandwherewecontendfortheadvancementoftheKingdomofGodinourregionthroughintercessoryprayer.WebelievethisvisionispartofthemanifestationoftherebuildingofDavid’stabernacle,whichJamesspokeaboutinActs15:15-17.
