    Netbackup Important Error Codes

    These are the error codes seen in the Netbackup and also these can be seen using

    command bperror -S -r and in Netbackup troubleshooting guide.

    This problem can occur in the following situation1 when a process tries to connect to the

    Net*ackup request daemon +bprd or database manager daemon +bpdbm and the

    daemon is not running. +)n 4indows& these daemons are the Net*ackup >equest

    Aanager and Net*ackup 9atabase Aanager ser"ices. (t can also occur in the followingsituations1 the network or ser"er is hea"ily loaded and has slow response time or an

    e"aluation license key for Net*ackup e:pired. Bowe"er& the most common cause of this

    error is a host name resolution problem. )ther possible causes of this error1

    < nb'm is unable to connect to bpcd on the media ser"er

    < nbpem is unable to connect to nbpro:y

    < bptm on the media ser"er is unable to connect to nb'm on the master ser"er.These

    errors are caused either by network connecti"ity issues or if a required process such as

    pb:e:change is not running.

    This error indicates that the client and ser"er were able to initiate communications& but

    for the backup policy on the ser"er was not selected.

    < The e"aluation license for the Net*ackup 7ncryption product has e:pired on the

    ser"er& but the Net*ackup client was configured to require encrypted backups. !s a

    result& the ser"er attempts to make a non-encrypted backup of the client. Since the client

    is configured to require encryption& the backup failed.

    completes. This error is due to the dri"e not being reported as busy until the mount

    restore.

    The ser"er did not complete the connection to the client. The accept system or winsock
