This project will be aligned with your upcoming essay, which will cover the very same content, so having completed this project, writing your essay should feel much easier. Below are the specific directions for the project, but first, some general directions: • You should use regular printer paper (not loose leaf, but definitely not poster board) • You should NOT draw on both sides of the sheet of paper (use three separate sheets) • You should NOT staple or tape your project together, but you SHOULD use a paper clip • The project will be due this FRIDAY, September 23 • Come to office hours Thursday after school in 404 if you need any help (bring your own supplies) COVER PAGE Task: Create a cover page for your comic that represents the overall story, create this after your two pages are completed so you know what you are introducing Requirements: Relevant title of your own choosing, large drawing, color required PAGE ONE Task: Explain the historical circumstances that led to the Neolithic Revolution Scope: FROM Paleolithic Age of Hunting and Gathering UP TO AND INCLUDING the development of agriculture Requirements: Full page with 5-7 frames (boxes), each including a drawing and a caption, speech bubbles highly encouraged, color encouraged but not required Relevant Vocabulary: Nomadic, Hunter-Gatherers, Natufians, Levant, Sedentary, Younger Dryas Event, Domestication, Agriculture, Neolithic Revolution PAGE TWO Task: Explain how the Neolithic Revolution changed history (by leading to civilization) Scope: FROM the spread of agriculture and development of settlements TO the development and growth of civilization (focus on ancient, but you may include ONE frame about modern civilization at the end) Requirements: Full page with 5-7 frames (boxes), each including a drawing and a caption, speech bubbles highly encouraged, color encouraged but not required Relevant Vocabulary: Irrigation, Surplus, Job Specialization, Social Inequality/Hierarchy, Trade, Writing You will be graded out of FOUR in each of the following FOUR categories • Content: The comic includes all of the required elements • Design: The comic goes in proper order, makes sense to the reader • Aesthetics: The comic is attractive, neat, and colorful • Accuracy: The comic does not include any factual errors, represents the history correctly
