Work Experience

August 2015 – March 2016 – Maersk Oil Production Technician – Worked as a Production Operator on the Janice Alpha FPU. Roles include starting up/shutting down and monitoring of oil, water injection, produced water re-injection, gas lift, gas export and gas dehydration systems in accordance to company procedures.Daily routines include monitoring of pump and compressor pressures and temperatures as well as back flushing of produced water hydrocyclones. Checking and topping up of lube oils and seal tanks along with carrying out first line maintenance where required and competency allows.Adhering to company procedures and drawings isolation of plant equipment, flushing and purging where necessary and carrying out line walks ensuring valves are correctly tagged and in the correct position before re-instating the equipment.Carrying out requested work scopes as requested by Production Team Leader and closely working with other disciplines to ensure work is carried out in a safe and prompt manner.

June 2015 – August 2015 – Wood Group PSN Ad-hoc Production Technician – Worked as a Production Technician on the North Everest Platform during a major upgrade of its processing facility. Role consisted of creating and applying isolations to various equipment from T.E.G Contactors to fuel gas coolers as well as monitoring and recording P.B.U on them whilst isolated.

Carry out routine checks on utility equipment whilst the process is shut down and record on the Prolog system used on the Platform, whilst reporting any deviation from normal operations to the Production Supervisor.

May 2015 – June 2015 - Petrofac Ad-hoc Production Technician – Worked as a Production technician on the EnQuest Producer during the commissioning stages of the FPSO. The role consisted of assisting commission engineers where applicable and carry out line walking exercises to ensure P&IDs are correct and ensuring any deviations to documentation is updated and reported accordingly.Also preparing installation for first oil, ensuring valve positions are correct and all fittings, flanges, valves, pipework and instrumentation is correctly tagged as according to P&IDs.Loading with supporting technicians and supervision/engineers is an integral part of the position to ensure safe and efficient progress is achieved during the commissioning of the FPSO.

March 2015 - May 2015 - Chevron Ad-hoc Production Technician- Worked as part of the Erskine intervention team as an individual Production Technician ensuring steady production of High Pressure, High Temperature gas. This included gaining experience with high pressure fitting and methanol injection down hole and also in production header. Daily routines included organising intervention workscopes such as isolation and permits prior to wireline crews arriving on the platform. Carry out isolations on high pressure equipment and checking P.B.U. Experience using the DCS system for starting and stopping pumps, operating valves and general pressure/level and flow rates were carried out using this system.Bleeding down annulus on various wells was a regular routine using high pressure equipment.

March 2009 - March 2015 - Wood Group Production Technician - Work for Wood Group on the Beatrice field as part of the core crew Production team. Job consisted of carrying out routine readings of plant equipment and well readings, including annulus pressures (including bleeding down of annulus’s) and choke settings. Starting up and shutting down plant equipment as per procedure and in a safe manner. Carry out isolations on plant equipment and ensure all permits are being worked to accordingly by carrying out site checks and audits. Carry out bunkering of potable water and diesel from supply vessel and carry out samples of each in the platform laboratory. BS&W samples taken from the crude export pumps, OIW samples taken from the oily water separators and Gas sampling is a regular procedure carried out on the platform. I have carried out short term cover in the Control Room as required. Also took on the role of training new members of the team to the high standards that the platform and I expect.

March 2007 to March 2009 - Opito Production Technician Apprentice - Trained as an apprentice Production Technician on the Beatrice Platform where I was trained up to carry out all the required duties of a Production Technician on the platform as an individual and as part of a team. During this time I was expected to complete an SVQ level three in Processing Operations.

August 2005 - March 2007 - Opito Production Technician Apprentice - Took part in Opito Apprenticeship at Aberdeen College completing various courses in Processing Operations.
