Usually merchants need to have a separate POS device / EDC terminal at their establishment so that a customer can buy goods & then make a payment using his / her card.
Mswipe’s solution eliminates the need of conventional POS devices and telephone connectivity. Mswipe solution works with smartphone platforms (iOS, Android, RIM) and feature phones (Java enabled). GPRS connectivity is required for the solution to work. It thus provides portability and ease of use.
Swiper – called the “m|swipe”: This is a small device which has a 3.5mm audio pin integrated with it. The m|swipe can be connected to a mobile phone via the phone’s headphone/earphone socket (jack).
The solution consists of two components:
Mobile application – called “m|pos”: It provides an interface for carrying out all the transactions and communication with the m|swipe.
Steps to be followed by User:Connect the m|swipe to the mobile phone via earphone socket.Press the Left Soft key to start the application. Incase the Left Soft Key label does not show Mswipe, go to:Menu>Applications>Apps and Games>mSwipe
