Chimo Chimo Chimo Chimo 2222 will be celebrating 3 years as a Parenting Home in June 2011. Our home had two moms. One moved back to live with her mom. We wish her all the best! Our other young lady has been working so hard and now spends 3 evenings a week and the entire weekend parenting her beautiful baby girl. Her journey has been filled with twists and turns but she has over comes so much and has come so far. We are so proud of our lil’ lady! Chimo 2 is also looking forward to congratulating Jenni on her soon to be bundle of joy!
Chimo Chimo Chimo Chimo 7 7 7 7 is waiting for summer to begin. We are so proud of our young Mom who has shown amazing attendance and outstanding marks during her first year at Braemar! She works hard everyday and we appreciate it! Her toddler has begun running (really fast!) and loves to spend time outdoors with Mommy. She looks super-cute in her spring dresses. Our staff team is busy getting ready for our big move to the Chimo 1 house. We are looking forward to having a huge fenced yard for our little sprinter! Enjoy the weather, from Chimo 7.
Chimo 8Chimo 8Chimo 8Chimo 8 Chimo 8 had 5 young ladies who grew together in their independent living skills. All girls were in full time day programs and did excellent in regards to attendance and marks. All girls worked toward obtaining their drivers learners license and two were successful; the other three are continuing the studying process. The girls feel spring in the air and boyfriends have now taken a spot in their supportive circles. Three of our young ladies are moving forward to SIL programs and are quite excited about this big step forward in their lives. One was accepted into the Bridges program, one is on the intake list for the Bridges program, and one will be moving to SOLO this summer. Two young ladies participated in horse back riding lessons and both enjoyed it immensely. All girls are ready for employment and three obtained employment. The house is full of laughter and humorous experiences shared by youth and staff. The team has really enjoyed having these girls and look forward to watching them all move forward successfully

Daisy and Marta have moved on to our SWS Program. We miss both of them very much and wish them well! We are very pleased and excited to have Stacey and Tara join our team!! We still have 3 AMAZING young men living with us. One has had his intake at SOLO and is just waiting patiently for a coordinator. This same young man will be graduating high school from the Learning Store June 9, 2011. M.N. we are very proud of you!!!!!! Our other two young men are also very close to having referrals made to SOLO. J.P is still working at The Brick and will be finishing his grade 11 year at Sturgeon High School this June. B.C is still working at Tim Hortons and is finishing his grade 11 year at Vimy Ridge Academy. We are all looking forward to Camp YoWoChas in June and the Tim Hortons camp in September.
Chimo 99 Chimo 99 Chimo 99 Chimo 99 Since April we have been working out the kinks and trying to make this a wonderful home for our two boys. With the help of YYC and everyone at Chimo we developed a great program. We also have been very fortunate in having the opportunity of starting a new program with such fabulous youth. One youth has successfully completed the Chimo Life Skills program and found a job. And the other youth is on his way to graduating Junior High and slowly working towards his dream of playing soccer for Man United. Other successes include both boys achieving high scores in multiple XBOX and PS3 games.
What’s happening at SOLO?
Warm weather has finally arrived after much anticipation. Transitions office again hosted a great Easter dinner that was enjoyed by all. But we did run out of mashed potatoes. We had 11 youth graduate from our transitions workshops. Kari coordinated an awesome dinner for us as well as cooked the roast. Thanks to Kari and all of you who helped out in the preparation of this dinner. I believe the youth really enjoyed it. Big thank you to Lauren for again coordinating our spring cloths give away and a thank you to all of you who donated cloths etc. and helped out with this event. We will again be hosting a summer BBQ at Queen Mary Park hall and I am sure it will be a blast.
Thanks to Nancy and all the girls of SOLO for all your hard work with our youth!!! We are preparing for
a very quiet summer with much relaxation. LOL.

We have a fantastic group of 7 youth who are totally
rocking out the program. They are very dedicated
and serious about making positive changes in their
lives and developing new skills. We regularly have a
lot of fun doing activities and follow up with
insightful conversations on how to carry the new
skills over into their personal lives. Great work !!!
I just would like to mention that we will be hosting
the “Summer GroupSummer GroupSummer GroupSummer Group” from July 25th to August 26
th,

September I plan to take a one year maternity leave.
I am looking forward to training a new coach to take
over. I know that I will greatly miss the program
while I am gone, but I am looking forward to my
new role as MOM! I hope you all have a great Sun-

One of these young men will going on a school trip to Drumheller and visiting the museum as well as going to the water park at Sylvan Lake. We have said good bye to some of our relief staff and hello to a couple of new faces. We are busy looking for summer day programs and activities to keep the boys busy. One of our young men has decided he is ready to move on from Chimo 5 and he has given his notice that he will be transitioning from the home this summer to live with friends. This young man has been a long term resident and he will be missed around the house. Summer is a time for fun and excitement which I can assure we will have plenty of here at Chimo 5.
