Evaluation - Question 5 How did you attract/address

your audience?

Page 2: Neaarly finsihed

During our research and planning we each did an interview so that we got more information on a wider range of people so it helped us choose what would be better in our film. Even though all the results told us a wide range of things the main things that we found out was that they don’t like seeing really cheesy proposal’s as that happens in most romance films, they wanted to see something that the audience wouldn’t be expecting.

The main questions that i asked were:3. What’s the main thing you want to see in a romance

film?4. What wouldn’t you like to see?5. Why do you like romance films?6. Do you think romance mirrors true life at all?I thought it would be appropriate to ask these questions as it

would give our group a good idea on what base our romance film on.

This is a copy of the interview that I asked and the responses that I got.

How did these results impact on how you attracted/addressed your audience?

These results changed the way that we were going to attract our audience because before we did any research we thought it would be better to just aim our film at teenagers under 12 and to put it in magazines because not many used the internet, but after doing some research we found out that it would be better to aim it at people aged 35 and under and to place it on the internet, TV during programmes and in magazines so that our target group saw them.

What did you include within your film to excite or intrigue audiences?

Within our film we used a wide range of things to get the audiences attention, by having the narration and the music playing at the same time which is quite emotional. Also the way that we have photos of past memories in there as well because they could think what’s happening and then the enigma at the end with the male character sat on his own could make the audience think is this really it for him or what’s going to happen.

Where would you promote your film?

We would promote our film on adverts in magazines, and place some trailers onto YouTube as our target audience would be more likely to read magazines and listen to music on YouTube. Some magazines that would be appropriate would be ‘shout’ ‘ok’ or ‘hello’ as when we did our research our target audience would have been more likely to read these compared to any other magazines. It wouldn’t really matter where abouts on YouTube the video is placed, as long as it is near the videos that are more appropriate for our target audience.

Planning

These are our ideas that we first had and ideas of shots on the storyboard

We have chosen the shots that we have so that it is more appealing to our target audience, using shots that would get the audiences attention for example close up’s of the actors faces so that you can see the expressions.
