3. In-Service Damage Inspection
This area is generally weak amongst NDT technicians

2. Inspection Following Primary or Secondary Processing
In the vast majority of cases NDT Technicians working on in-service plant will rarely be involved in:
1. Inspection of Raw Products
INSPECTION FOR IN-SERVICE DAMAGE

For Example:Lets take a look at the inspection of corrosion using ultrasonic testing

INSPECTION FOR IN-SERVICE DAMAGE
With this in mind BINDT are working with various training organisations to aid development of a specialist course for the Ultrasonic Inspection of corrosion and erosion.
The following slide details the course modules which lead to certification in this area.

BLENDED LEARNING
WHAT PEOPLE MAY THINK:• It takes away the vital human interaction
WHY USE ONLINE LEARNING?• Online learning can be an enhancement of the learning experience.• Digital technology is now used by the vast majority of people (Smart
phones/laptops)• People will use search engines to find information quickly on a regular
basis, inadvertently learning online.

BLENDED LEARNING
COST AND TIME EFFECTIVENESSNDT technicians can be extremely busy moving from contract to contract. Companies and self-employed technicians have to take into account the cost of travel, hotels which add to the overall training bill.
ACCESSIBILITY AND DISCREETNESS Online learning is accessible 24/7 all over the world and is discrete. Not all people are comfortable in large groups and feel embarrassed. How often I have heard ‘there was too much to take in in such a short period of time’Online learning offers the advantage to work at your own pace.An online tutor can also be available to answer questions and explain difficult concepts.

BLENDED LEARNING
Is it for everyone? No, but it can offer so much.
