RECOVERY OPTIONS TO CONSIDER WHEN PREPARING FOR A WINDOWS 10 UPGRADE1. Backup and recovery options :

• Create recovery media for your current Windows install (some people have been unable to use the rollback feature after upgrading to Windows 10)

• Backup all data files

• Create a full-system image backup of your computer to an external storage device prior to computer for upgrade using your preferred backup program or Windows Backup and Recovery.

• Windows 10 roll-back feature accessible for 30 days after Windows 10 Upgrade completed. (If it’s been less than a month since you upgraded to Windows 10, you can go back to your previous version of Windows by going to Settings > Update & security > Recovery.

Selecting either Go back to Windows 7 or Go back to Windows 8.1. This won't affect your personal files, but it will remove any apps you installed after the upgrade to Windows 10. )

HOW MUCH TIME SHOULD I ALLOCATE TO COMPLETE UPGRADE?1. Actual Upgrade should take about 1-3 hours per computer.

2. Preparation for upgrade will include uninstalling non-compatible third party software on your computer. (Hard Drive Protection Hardware, Ant-Virus and Malware Software, ADA software)

3. Install required drivers for Windows 10

4. Install third party software for Windows 10.

5. Recommendation is to practice on one computer and take good notes on installation process. Use of USB devices to store Windows 10 drivers and third-party software installs to avoid repeating downloads to each computer.

UPGRADE OPTIONSWhat will work best for you?

1. Download the install using Windows Update and wait to install at a convenient time when the computer will be available for several hours to complete the installation and customization.

2. Build an ISO (International Organization for Standardization) image using Media Creation Tool to be installed on a USB device.

• Can more easily control deployment of upgrade software.• Don’t use bandwidth in library for multiple downloads of the

same upgrade updates at one time.3. Upgrade all public computers to Win 10 or just some of the public

computers?

UPGRADE PROCESSWhat to expect1. Recommendation to choose the Media Creation Tool to build an ISO

Image that you can use on all computers.2. User must be logged on with an Administrator account and the
