DESCRIPTION
EveryoneOn.org is a national three-year media campaign—currently underway—to raise awareness of the importance of digital literacy. The campaign’s mission is to promote the personal relevance of computer and high-speed Internet use among non-users, and to connect them with free digital literacy training. It is likely that, in many cases, this training will be provided through school and public libraries. In Year One, the National Ad Council campaign will focus on the call to action: "Find free training near you!" It will direct customers to call, text, or visit a Website with a directory of sites where they can receive one-on-one instruction and/or classes. Many Nebraska libraries have been pre-filled into this directory. This edition of NCompass Live will: •Explore the EveryoneOn campaign tools. •Demonstrate how to ensure that your directory entry is correct. •Help identify resources so that Nebraska libraries can be the Go-to-Place for digital literacy training in their community. The EveryoneOn promotional campaign encourages people to learn to do “one thing better online”. People are directed to http://www.everyoneon.org/ to use the zip code locator tool to “Find Free Training Classes Near You”.
Instructions for updating and editing library information are at http://everyoneon.adcouncil.org/assets/19/Training%20Site%20Locator%20Tool.zip. Libraries are encouraged to enter important information about their facilities and the training and resources they offer.
A toolkit for libraries is at http://everyoneon.adcouncil.org/. The toolkit includes public service announcements, customizable materials such as posters and flyers, talking points, a social media guide, and more.

The Public Library Association recently launched http://digitallearn.org/. The section http://digitallearn.org/learn has online tutorials on email, using a PC, basic search, and more tutorials will be added soon. ALSO, http://digitallearn.org/teach includes resources to help libraries teach digital literacy skills and coach adult learners.
