Invitation
The Organizing Committee cordially invites you to participate in the
National Conference on Advanced Physical Methods in Chemical
Sciences (NCAPMCS-2017) to be organized by the Department of
Chemistry, Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and
Technology, Hisar-125001 on February 22-23, 2017. The aim of the
conference is to promote discussion and exchange of ideas on
various topics on the theme of conference.
The University
Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology started its
journey on November 1, 1995 at Hisar, Haryana to impart education
on the frontiers of Science, Technology, Pharmacy, Environmental
Studies, Non-conventional Energy Sources, Mass Media and
Management Studies. Today the university is rock standing on three
hundred seventy two acres of lush green land with Nine mammoth
teaching blocks housing more than forty five Regular Programmes
on Campus and 17 Programmes through Distance Mode with Ph.D.
degree programme in all the Departments. There are 18 Teaching
Departments classified in 7 Faculties for coordinated teaching in
particular and effective governance in general. Further, fourteen
Colleges/Institutes of Engineering, Management and Computers
are affiliated to this University and they are offering B.Tech., M.Tech.,
MBA, BBA, MCA, BCA and B.Arch. programmes. The University is
recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under
Section 2(f) for recognition of degrees on Nov.01, 1996 and under
section 12(B) of the UGC Act to be eligible for central assistance on
Feb. 07,1997. The University has been accredited 'A' Grade three
times by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC),
Bangalore in 2002, 2009 with CGPA 3.26, and 2014 with CGPA 3.28
for a period of five years from 10.12.2014 to 09.12.2019. It has been
thranked 24 amongst the Indian Universities by NIRF (MHRD).
Recentrly, NBA has accredited our five M.Tech. Courses.
Department of Chemistry
The Department of Chemistry is an old and premier department of
the University. The dedicated & competent faculty of the
department has aim to produce the dynamic and knowledgeable
human resources capable of contributing to the national
development and welfare of the society. The Departement of
Science and Technology (DST) Govt. of India has accorded it the
status of " DST-FIST Supported Department".
The department offers Dual Degree B.Sc. (Hons.)-M.Sc., M.Sc.
and Ph.D. programmes in Chemistry. The faculty is actively
engaged in research funded by various agencies in the area of
synthetic chemistr y, catalysis, medicinal chemistr y,
organometallics, polymer nanocomposites and flame
retardency. The laboratories of the department and central
instrumentation laboratory are well equipped with instruments
like NMR, HPLC, AAS, FTIR, UV-VIS-NIR, DSC, GC, etc. A number of
students of the department have qualified NET/JRF (UGC-CSIR)
and placed in various organizations of repute.
The City - Hisar
Hisar was founded as Hissar-e-Firoza by Firoz Shah Tughlaq in
1354 A.D. It is a major centre of higher education and research
with three major Universities of the State, a number of research
institutions, degree colleges, breeding farms and a growing
industrial environment. An Army Cantonment located in Hisar
enriches its cultural life. The university is situated at Hisar at about
170 Km from Delhi on Delhi-Rohtak-Hisar-Sirsa-Fazilka NH-10 and
at a distance of about 230 Km from Chandigarh on NH-65.
Theme of the Conference
Chemistry is a rapidly growing field of science. It has diverse
branches playing a pivotal role in development and benefits of
the society. This conference will cover the advanced physical
methods applied in the field of Nanochemistry, Supramolecular
chemistry, Material Chemistry, Organic synthesis, Polymer
Chemistry, Organometallics, Environmental and Green
Chemistry, Surface Chemistry, Thermodynamics and Kinetics,
Medicinal Chemistry, etc.
The conference will consist of contributed papers in the form of invited talks, oral & poster presentations.
