NBWA’s Sixth Annual

NEXT GENERATION

SUCCESS IN LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE

BUILDING A STRONGER FUTURE TOGETHER

Aug. 5 - 7, 2018Austin, Texas

Bonin Bough Bonin Bough is an award-winning marketing executive, the producer and host of The Cleveland Hustles and the author of TXT Me (646) 759-1837. As one of the youngest C-suite executives in a Fortune 50 company, Bonin has spearheaded some of the largest global marketing campaigns across digital, mobile, television, print, and experiential, including the premier of the first-ever

3D printed food product, the customizable, real-time 3D printed Oreo at SXSW in Austin.

Bonin’s prominence as a transformative activator has helped reinvigorate traditional marketing by combining innovative tech via breakthrough brand campaigns including Oreo, Honey Maid, Pepsi, Gatorade and countless other billion-dollar brands. He has been listed in Fortune Magazine’s “40 under 40”, Fast Company’s “100 Most Creative People in Business”, The Adweek 50 and PRWeek Power List.

In a world where technology is moving faster than ever before and the consumer is changing every day, we have to look at how to build organizations for this new generation. Bough will share examples of how some companies are transforming their business models to meet a changing consumer landscape.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER

“Every year, I leave the NGG conference

with new ideas that I take home and apply on a daily basis, especially

when it comes to team work within our company, operating better in the market and functioning as a stronger distributor

in general.”Carly LaMonica

LaMonica Beverages, Inc.

LEADERSHIP WORKSHOPS Josh Nacht, Ph.D.Joshua Nacht is a consultant with The Family Business Consulting Group. He brings a complementary mix of perspective and experience to his roles as a steward, scholar and consultant to family enterprises. Nacht works with business families to manage their complexity and create opportunities by focusing on effective governance and transitions. He enjoys working with multigenerational families to integrate diverse perspectives and create strong ownership groups by

developing structure plans for continuity. Nacht will conduct two leadership workshops:

The Role of the Family ChampionFamily Champions act as catalysts for development in their business families by providing leadership, energy and inspiration. Family Champions see the need for their families to improve their ability to own, operate and govern their business and take action to help achieve those goals. This session will be interactive and will consist of information from a forthcoming book on Family Champions, as well as exercises to help attendees think about their own family business situation.

Difficult ConversationsEffective work relationships are based on good communication patterns and interactions. The ability to engage in difficult conversations and have positive outcomes is an important skill. This workshop will explore how to navigate challenging conversations between work colleagues and will give attendees actionable, simple and effective means to improve their communication styles. This session is not family business centric, but will include an exploration of the potentially tricky interactions between family and non-family members and employees.

“I really enjoy networking with other people that are next generation. I’m learning about their businesses, which is helpful because

I recently started working for my dad’s company. So, I learn from their experiences,

and I get ideas on what I could do to improve our family business.”

WORKSHOPSSales Workshops

Tom FoxPrevious generations did a great job of building the beer distribution industry. But they built their businesses off relationships not necessarily by using great sales practices. That is leaving today’s generation with a big challenge to transform the

industry’s business culture in order to compete and thrive.

Tom Fox will lead two transforming sales and marketing workshops.

Tom Fox will share his 18 years of experience in training distributor sales managers and sales staff. He has worked closely with dozens of distributors over the years on transforming their culture to drive a professional sales approach and a system for developing people. Fox will share ideas to help distributors succeed in an ultra-competitive marketplace and will address tactics to help in several areas to improve sales including discussions on:

• Developing or building a yearly sales & marketing plan

• Local marketing techniques

• Conducting sales meetings

• Motivating your sales force

• Essential education/training for sales reps

His goal is to give distributors the tools to close more sales, grow share in their markets and build their businesses for tomorrow.

Quality Workshop

Matt MeadowBrewers Association Draught Beer Quality Ambassador For today’s distributors, the need for a successful draught beer program is at an all-time high. As the number of breweries and new products continue to

increase, so does the complexity of the draught beer landscape and the demands of consumers. Today’s beer consumers are becoming more knowledgeable and discerning. As a result, there is a greater focus being put on draught beer quality. Recognizing this need, the Brewers Association added the role of Draught Beer Quality Ambassador in January 2018 and named Matt Meadows of New Belgium Brewing to be co-ambassador. Meadow works to educate distributors and retailers on issues including:

• Expectations of today’s knowledgeable and discerning beer consumers and retailers

• Responsibilities of retailers, distributors and brewers to meet these demands and expectations

• Maximizing profits with a well-executed draught beer program

This session will also provide resources to distributors to help them improve draught beer programs in their markets while growing profitability and meeting the demands of today’s consumers.

Social Media Workshop

Adventures in Digital StorytellingStories are the most powerful way to change people’s minds and move them to act. In every aspect of how you present your company and interact with customers, you have opportunities to use principles of design and storytelling to be more effective. Former White House Art Director and

LGND President Mike Aleo reveals the methods behind designing an impactful story, drawing from his work with corporations, nonprofits and the White House. Leave this session with new ideas to help build your company’s brand by using social media effectively and strategically.

Ask the Experts and Share Best Practices

Operational Roundtables• Ask questions of the experts. Experts to provide practical

advice to deal with real life issues you are facing in your distributorship.

• Share best practices. Peers to provide practical advice to deal with real life issues you are facing in your distributorship.

• Opportunities for peer interaction and networking.

Sessions to be held:

• Finance - Banking

• Finance- Fundamentals and Performance Indicators

• Warehouse and Delivery

• Technology
