It is the largest club in our high school, and also the most altruistic club our school has ever had. Therefore, we have a lot of noble people in our club, who are willing to help the community. Heritage DayKey Club kicked off to a great start this year! We had a great time at Heritage Day! If you didn’t go, you really missed out. Everyone from North Brunswick got together and enjoyed the day at Babbage Park. I learned that I should really be proud of my diverse, outgoing and generous community! At Babbage Park, Key Club did face painting. We received over $100, while managing to have a fun time painting faces. If you weren’t there this year, you really did miss out! Make sure you go next year!

Harry Potter Night at Barnes & NobleHarry Potter, one of the best fictional characters to ever strike our imaginations. We all wanted to do magic, we all waited to get that letter from Hogwarts. Sadly, we learned that is not possible. But guess what? Some people put on their wizard hats and robes, and managed to experience what being magical would be like. Fairooz Khondker said, “It was a great event where we volunteered and had a lot of fun. The kids were there for a scavenger

hunt, and we basically looked over and participated too. There was also a costume contest! So I guess, it was pretty cool.” Thank you for everyone who volunteered for this, and for those who didn’t, don’t worry! We’ll have a lot of fun opportunities like this one.

Judd Game NightWe should all try our best to help those with disabilities. They are not different. We wanted to have fun as children, and so did they. That’s why we had Judd Game Night, an event in which we provide children with arts and crafts, which we were sure they would enjoy. Key Clubbers came together and organized games for these children such as ‘Bat Craft’ in which children used big black pompoms, googly eyes and black construction paper to make bats. Overall, the kids loved it, and the volunteers committed a good deed.

9/11 Memorial Site Clean UpWe are fortunate to live in a community with so many amenities. We live in a community that provides us with safety, happiness, but more importantly, Starbucks. So once you’re done with your delicious double chocolate chip Frappuccino, don’t toss it onto the street. Somehow, Naini Bansal, Sai Gundlapalli

SO FAR SO GOOD!!!

The CarnivalIt’s time guys! It’s time for Key Club’s biggest event of the year. The one that got us $2500, which all went towards funds for neonatal tetanus. It’s happening again on November 30th. Check out the pictures on the right for last year’s carnival! To those new to Key Club, you will have a memorable time at the carnival with all your friends. For those returning, we have a higher aim. We have to raise a lot of money. We have 356 members, which is much more than we had last year. So let’s make a difference guys! Since it’s not that far away, the best way you all can help is by joining committees. It’s advised that if you want to be an active volunteer, run for a board position next year or help out for a successful, fun, charitable carnival, you should join a committee.

SPONSORSHIP COMMITTEESponsors are the most important part of the carnival. The Sponsorship committee is in charge of going around to local businesses and getting their sponsorship. There will be a flyer to use. If you are interested you must be DEDICATED as this is the most demanding committee. Hours

will be rewarded for those who manage to receive sponsors. Jonathan Lin and I, Sai Ramesh, will lead this committee. For more details, feel free to e-mail us.

ACTIVITIES/GAMES COMMITTEEThis group will be in charge of taking out or innovating old games, creating new games and ideas, and getting the materials for those games. Mohammad Haji and Nico Patel will lead this committee. Their e-mails will be posted on the last page.

PUBLICITY COMMITTEEThis committee will be working to get the word of our carnival out. People in this committee will be making posters, signs, newspapers. They will have to reach out to the Board of Ed, PTSO, and they will make a Video. Pavithra Vetriselvan and Alisa Adwaney will head this committee.

INVENTORY COMMITTEEThis committee is responsible for making sure we have all the materials needed. They will be in charge of prizes, the prize inventory, poster making for our games, and the layout of the Commons. Ibanca Anand and Nehi Patel will head this committee.

for short) is an annual event where hundreds of Key Clubbers from all over New Jersey gather for a weekend of celebration. DCON 2012 was a huge success! This year, DCON took place at the Ocean Place Resort and Spa in Long Branch, New Jersey.Attendees watched Key Clubbers show off their talents at the talent show, rocked out to music with their friends, walked "the boardwalk of service", elected the new District Board, heard phenomenal speeches, and much, much more. More information will be given out on DCON 2013 as the year progresses. Keep this in mind, because if you are looking to have an enjoyable experience

WHAT IS D10?New Jersey is one of the 33 districts in Key Club International. New Jersey, itself, has 23 divisions within the state. NBTHS is part of Division 10. We are very lucky, since Mohammad Haji, an avid participant in Key Club, is Lieutenant Governor for D10! That means we get more opportunities and more representation from our high school in the District. Thus, all the schools in D10 may plan events that we should try to take part in. So here are some divisional events ahead of us!

DCONDistrict Convention (or DCON

through Key Club this year, you should go to DCON!

ELIMINATE GAMESWe have already explored that Harry Potter impacts NBTHS Key Club. But guess what? So will the Hunger Games. The event is basically based off of the actual Hunger Games, and will most probably happen at NBTHS. The game is not like the real one, so your life is not at risk! Pay $10, and you can become a part of the game! Sounds like fun right? It is going to happen in early December (the first week). So
