Mektebíñ sergísínde túrlí yîllarda bo okîlda okîgan ballarîñ yapkan 50x70 çm ebatînda 114 adet we 50x40 çm ebatînda 12 resím yer aldî. Yazcite - a studio music project brought into existence by Hanna Turonek and Paweł Betley. The music draws much of its inspiration from the old chants of the Tatars. The melodies are derived mainly from the regions of Kazan and Ufa, however there are self-created melodies inspired by Tatar music as well.

The idea for recording the album came into our minds, as it often happens by chance, while we were checking the sounds of bamboo flutes at Paweł Betley’s ZTUDIO. I had brought these flutes from Japan, so as the route from Tokyo to Warsaw runs through Kazan and Ufa, the Tatar melodies so widely known to the local community came with me in my luggage.

The music on this album is not to be typecast nor classified by me into any genres or styles. There are as many genres of Tatar music as many Tatar communities spread all over the world.

Polish people do associate the Tatars mainly with the violent and wild tribe plundering the country and making its inhabitants prisoners. Nonetheless their significant presence on Polish lands is a 600 year-old tradition. In modern-day Poland they are widely known as the heroes fighting for the country’s independence and also in the military service by the rulers of The Kingdom of Lithuania, and later on by the King Jan III Sobieski in the 16th century.

Today this ethnic group numbering about 5,000 live mostly in Podlasie (Podlachia) region near Białystok and Sokółka. Two small villages, Kruszyniana and Bahoniki, create

climate that has by no means a unique and rarefied atmosphere in the scope of whole country. They constitute the Mecca of the Polish Orient. There on Tatar trails you can come across the oldest mosques from the 18th and 19th centuries, historic cementaries, and original Tatar yurtas.

The music on this album has been arranged in a modern way, yet with the application of traditional instruments used not only in Tatar chants, such as: jew’s harp, surnay, suka and fidel-both folk string instruments, oud, tar, bamboo flutes from the Japanese island of Okinawa, dizi flutes, duduk, hulusi, frame drum, darabuka and every kind of instruments found ad hoc by Paweł Betley for the production needs. So, an empty Coca-cola bottle, a plywood lid, a desk-tidy and a large bunch of keys were converted into proper musical instruments.

The album consists of 13 compositions which have been given special titles enabling listeners to enter the unique world of Asian melodies and bringing you closer to a brief outline of Tatar history on Polish lands. The only genuine and exotically sounding title is “Yazcite” which means “The chant of Spring”. The rest of titles have been made up, and even our own historical ideologies have been invented too (wolojka tatarska).

Paweł Betley

Pawel Betley is talented artist, a multi-instrumentalist, composer and record producer. After graduating the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, in prof. E. Gajewska’a flute class, he won the competition for the position of 1st flautist of The Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra with a place of business at Myśliwiecka Street. Nevertheless, working with the Symphony Orchestra does not satisfy a young, creative, full of great ideas person, so in 1991 he is employed in marketing.

At the beginning Pawel participates in Radio Zet’s projects, then together with Andrzej Wojciechowski, they establish Zet Studio, which realizes over 1000 radio advertisements a year. This is first experience as a composer, the practical training of advertising at the beginning, then turned into art.

In the middle of 90s, together with a group of friends, they create Ztudio and introduce new offer: TV advertisement assuing that its role at the market will be growing. Ztudio is running rapidly. Hunderds of projects, lots of social actions, compilimg music films, spectacles, CDs of well-known artists (a beautiful New Year’s Eve CD of Anna Maria Jopek „Dzisiaj w Betlejem” should be mentioned as well as songs of Patrycja Kosiarewicz).

Pawel works with many advertising agencies such as: Ad Fabryka, Adah Advertising, BBDO, DDB Warsaw, Designe Direct, Esene, Garaż, Grey, G7, Just, JWT Poland, Lowe GGK, McCann Ericsson, Memo, Publicis, PZL, Wunderman, production companies such as Banana Split, Cut Cut, Dynamo Film, Easy Hell Production, Film Republic, Graffiti Film, Opus Film, OTO Studio Filmowe, Pro Production, as well as Alien FX, Badi Badi, Edipresse, ITI Ciemna, Multikino, Lunapark, ODEON, ORKA Film, Sony, Televisor, TVN Style, TVN Turbo.

Hanna Turonek

Hanna Turonek is a graduate of the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw, in the flute class of Prof. Elżbieta Gajewska(1989). She developed her skills by taking part in the International Flute Symposium in Freiburg im Breisgau with such famous artists as Jean-Pierre Rampal, Robert Aitken, and Aurele Nicolet(February 1987), and the Interpretation Master Classes in Duszniki-Zdrój taught by Prof. Jerzy Mrozik and Peter Ode(July 1988).

She is a prize-winner of Polish and international music competitions:- November 1987 - V. Bucchi Competition in Rome - special mention- April 1988 - M. Canals Competition in Barcelona - honorary diploma- September 1988 - First Competition in Duino(Italy) - medal/special

prize- March 1989 - First Flute Competition in Kraków - third prizeIn 1987, while still an above-average student of the Academy of Music

Hanna was invited to work with the Sinfonia Varsovia orchestra by its director, Franciszek Wybrańczyk. This collaboration resulted in the artist receiving the title of musician-soloist of the orchestra.

Hanna Turonek performs concerts at home and abroad, playing chamber, solo, and orchestra works. She has given concerts in almost all of Europe, in Asia, North and South America, and Australia, appearing with such great artistic personalities as Lord Yehudi Menuhin, Krzysztof Penderecki, Charles Dutoix, Mstislav Rostropovich, Jerzy Maksymiuk, Jacek Kasprzyk, Jerzy Semkow, Marc Minkowski.

As a soloist she has taken part in many major music festivals: Berliner Bach-Tage(1991), Musiktage Quakenbruck(1993), Festival de Musique in Strasbourg(1998), MDR Musiksommer in Leipzig(1998), Warsaw Autumn(1987, 1988, 1990, 1992), Sinfonia Varsovia For Its City(2004), La Folle Journee de Nantes(2006).

Also as a soloist, she has performed with the Baroque orchestra Concerto Avenna, the Koszalin Philharmonic Orchestra, Słupsk Chamber Orchestra, Białystok Chamber Orchestra, Świętokrzyska Philharmonic, and Sinfonia Varsovia.

Hanna specializes in the piccolo, among other works playing the concertos of A. Vivaldi from Op. 10.(Il gardellino, La Tampesta di Mare, La Notte, and others). She was the first Polish piccolo player to perform U.S. composer Lowell Liebermann's Concerto for Piccolo and Orchestra Op. 50. The premiere, which took place on 13 April 2007 during the Świętokrzyskie Music Days in Kielce, was conducted by Jan Miłosz Zarzycki.

As an orchestra musician she has worked with the National Philharmonic Orchestra, Polish Radio Orchestra in Warsaw, Philharmonie der Nationen, Menuhin Festival Orchestra, Penderecki Festival Orchestra as well as the Polish Chamber Orchestra and Sinfonietta Cracovia.

She has recorded solo flute music for Polish Radio and Television in Warsaw.

Invited many times to take part in recordings Hanna has been a session musician not only for classical music but also lighter music forms. She has featured in the recordings of Michał Bajor, Tytus Wojnowicz, Piotr Jackson Wolski, Janusz Skowron, Natalia Kukulska.

Hanna is a co-founder of the Classic Fun Quintet, a wind instrument quintet composed of Sinfonia Varsovia soloists. The group released a CD in 2003 with arrangements of the most popular works of classical music.

She has played in the Baroque ensemble Ensamble de Narol founded by Tytus Wojnowicz since 2004, and recorded a CD with them.

Together with Barbara Witkowska, she forms the Duo Estrella.

June 2005 saw the release of Hanna Turonek's solo album for Paris Music, featuring works by E. Sielicki, D. Żebrowski, Z. Bagiński and a work dedicated to her personally, M. Hertel's Concertino for Flute and Chamber Orchestra.

For Naxos, she has recorded A. Panufnik's Hommage à Chopin - Five Pieces for Flute and String Orchestra with the Polish Chamber Orchestra conducted by Mariusz Smolij.

In 2008 together with other flutist prof.Elzbieta Gajewska she formed a CD with 3 flute duets by F.Lessel as a programme from the series “Forgotten Polish Music”.

Since 2005 Hanna Turonek has been teaching orchestra studies at the Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw.

Q&A with Hanna Turonek

Why do you do music?

It is very simply…because I like it! Music allow me to live as I dreamed when I was a child. Thanks music I can travel around the world to play concerts, I get to know many different, unconventional people, I force myself to discover things hide deep in my mind, I have to develop my skills and invent new abilitys every time not to be backwards, because a lot of capable young people came every day towards us. But first of all I do music because I think I wouldn’t like to go to work every day, I hate repetitiveness in my professional life! Of course I am working a lot of. If I have “hot time” full of jobs I am able to play for example over a month without any stop. But after I rest and I do other things. My profession demands and requires still to be in form so I have to care about my musical condition.

What do you want people to know about you as an artist?

In my environment everybody know me as a flutist playing in classical orchestra Sinfonia Varsovia, my pupils know me as a flute teacher as well, but my own wish is to know me now as an artist/creator of my completely new project, different so far then my real job as a musician. On my CD Yazcite I play tatar music on etnical instruments like bamboo flutes, zurna, jaw’s harp, chinese hulusi, dizi and first of all on…bamboo original broom made on Okinawa island. Beside good looking broom really plays!! This project is very important for me because I invented it myself and created together with my best friend Pawel Betley- a composer, arranger and multiinstrumentalist. He helped me as he could. He showed me ways of compose music and best using of instruments in it. He recorded and produced everything. He gave me his time and talent. He was a Very Important Person watching over this project! I will always thank him for it. Beside Pawel and me there were also other musician playing and singing. Beata Klatka, Mateusz Szemraj, Tytus Wojnowicz and Maria Pomianowska- the most folk musician among us. She is a specialist on strings instruments. She reconstructed a polish old instrument using between XVII-XIX century called suka bilgorajska.

What would you tell someone new to classical music about the best way to approach it?

The classical music has one’s own rules. It is very important how we interpret musical works. Perform should be accurate with tradition. It takes a lot of time to explore how people played for example 300 years ago…it is very need to have creative imagination and open mind. Musicians still looking for new solutions how to play. They reconstruct old instruments, they change tempo and character in musical works because it seems to them it is the best way, they find invisible details in music as well. Each artist want to be first in his artistic efforts and not follow or imitate somebody else. But there is one thing common for all musicians: good atmosphere among people and best spirit on the stage during each concert.

Which do you prefer, concerts or working in the studio?

Absolutely concerts! Although still travelling there and back can be sometimes tiring but concerts excited me much more. Nothing replace alive public with heartfelt reaction after playing. Artists need to prove their efforts every time. If we create something mainly we desire to show it to others. Not always we have opportunity or possibility, but if there is any we open our heart and mind for other inventions. It is like drugs, like bad habit…still more and more… On a

stage there is a magic atmosphere where musicians understand each other by sounds…each perform is only one of its kind…even then if not

everything is clear, concert can be interesting. The arts, this same

music, doesn’t ought to be perfect, because then become a computer work and we don’t know where to strive for? Competition requires perfection, stage needs a spirit. Usually the first take in studio is the best. It seems to be a concert. But after all there is always something what we could do better.

How long are you on the road?

My longest concert tour lasted eight months with only two days off at home! I was with my orchestra Sinfonia Varsovia under Yehudi Menuhin. I can not say now how many performances we had but I remember we were playing nearly every day and in different parts of Europe. It was changing only the language, the concert hall and the weather. One day I performed music in Oulu (Finland) and the other I swam in the see on Majorka island. Sinfonia Varsovia was a favourite Menuhin’s orchestra in the 15 last years of his life. We have played with him as a conductor numerous concerts in the world. Thanks to him I visited many countries like Australia, both Americas, Malaysia, Taiwan, Japan and hole Europe, I had the chance to play

and at the same to listen to fantastic soloists, I had the chance to communicate with real art!

Do you have a website with sample songs or a demo CD? Do you promote your music on YouTube?

I am not a good manager for myself especially as it is about putting important things in internet. Of course I can organize my solo concerts but I have not my private webside, I am afraid. How does your family life come into play with your professional life?

It is very private question and difficult to explain… anyway I have 11-years old son Alan who hate when I am going out. He is even angry when I dress up home to try a new concert wearing on. He always say that my best looking is when I wear old home clothes! But he loves music very much and he loves to be on my concerts. It does not happen too often because daily he is going to school and normally he couldn’t go with me where we would wish. There are very difficult moments for me when I have to go for longer then one week. Fortunatelly long trips doesn’t happen so often now.

What kind of music do you listen in your car?

For 7 years I hadn’t TV home and I have not any car radio! When I drive I like silence around me. I am then together with my thoughts and very often I speak with somebody who I imagin beside me... I make plans for the future in the car. This is my private space of course if I drive alone. But generally I listen to different music. Sometimes it is barrock, often chorall music, very often world music inspired by etnical tradition. I avoid pop music with predominance of electronic instruments.

What do you do when you’re not doing music?

Many prosaic actions…I mean I take care of my son… But actually I always do music because when I check his trompet or guitar lessons (he plays both) I practice with him! When I have completely free time I go to my summer house being in the forest and I charge a battery for the nearest future.

What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?

I have some ideas, but I have not a time to carry it out. First I would like to have my own artistic agency doing great musical projects. I am

so long time in this business that I know how to do it. I am open for people and I think I would be good, but I am to lazy to realize it, I am afraid. My second profession would be making and produce music. During work on record Yazcite I watched how quick and easy Pawel Beltey produce a CD. After that I have bought a computer program for compose. It is really not so difficult but requires a lot of practice…after imagination, ideas, abilitys, luck etc….

And third, the last profession or hobby: if I said before I have a summer house in the forest. When I am there I usually make fruit or herb liqueurs. I have my own receips and each year make experiments with ingredients. Everybody who tasted it told me nice.

Do you believe art should serve a political purpose or remain neutral?

It depends on political purpose but in our times art should remain neutral! Generally it is not so easy because people always notice others by nationality prism, political options, religious affiliation, I am afraid. Artists should be over any political connections. The Arts ought to break any racial and ethical prejudice. I believe that is so. Thanks art people can

present other side of any nation and show cultural aspect of it.

What are your plans for the future? Do you have plans for another recording project?

I am not sure if I can give my plans away… It depends who will read this interview.

All my plans on the nearest future concering flutist education. I’d like to record

one CD with flute little works for beginners. In Poland there is not any music examples for children who start play the flute. There is a lot of CDs with “difficult” pieces for adult flutists who play and understand music, with sonatas, concerts with orchestra, flute chamber music, but nobody doesn’t care of very young flutists so far.

Next recording plan: a CD with orchestral excerpts for piccolo flute together with handbook and commentary on this work.

And if I have enough power I’d like to make a CD with native songs of the north-east of Poland. There are eight nationalities living in this region: Polish, Belorussian, Ukrainian, Russian, Lithuanian, Tatar, Jew and Gypsy. For this project I have not yet any ideas……is only in my mind….

Beside my recording plans I hope to play concerts with orchestra Sinfonia Varsovia around the world and be good teacher for my pupils.

Late last year authors Ana Maria Munteanu, Elena Maria Necula, Adina Bocai and Sorina Asan launched their book "Armonia etnică în regiunea de Sud-Est a României - Balanţă interculturală, coabitare şi climat" (The Ethnic Harmony in Southeast Romania - Intercultural Balance, Cohabitation and Climate) published by Ex Ponto in Constanta, Romania. What a generous title! Let's browse the book and see what its contains. Some old interviews... Some so-called statistical data... Romania, EU and the protection of ethnic minorities... A lot of pictures... Quality prints, full-colored book, A4, 210 pages... We smell it. Ooo, smells like EU funds!

As long as the subject is "the ethnic harmony in southeast Romania" and author Ana Maria Munteanu is a lecturer at the Ovidius University in Constanta, a university that seems to be specialized in Dobrudja’s history falsification, let's see now what the book should contain and we could not find inside:

THIS BOOK CONTAINS NO WORD ON:- the long period of lack of political rights for Tatars after the annexation of Dobrudja to Romania in 1877.- injustices, pressures, violations committed by Romanian officials against the Tatar majority population.

- permanent humiliation of Tatars by the enrollment in the army where they were forced to eat pork, by systematic building of churches on the main streets while mosques were allowed only on side-streets, etc.- deliberate killing of Tatars by sending them in the front line without the appropriate war equipment (see battle of Tutrakan, WWI)- the alliance between the Romanian authorities and the Bulgarian committee partizans in order to enable them to commit atrocities in Romania, in the Tatar population.- plowing hundreds of Muslim cemeteries, dissolvving hundreds of Tatar villages, colonization of the region with population from Romania and Greece.- systematic changing the old Tatar toponimy.- prohibiting education in Tatar language.- Tatar deportation from Dobrudja- Gypsy deportation- Jew deportation

Romanians think that by accepting them in UE Europeans tacitly approved the theft that governs Romania. Seasoned thieves, Romanians are trying to show us the lack of ethnic conflict in Dobrudja as ethnic harmony.

After they have humiliated the Tartars for nearly 150 years Romanian thieves are now trying to steal even the virtues of the Tatar people, the tolerance and the patience. By showing us the absence of violent responses from the Tartars to the xenophobic actions of the Romanians as ethnic harmony in Dobrudja authors want to hide Romanian’s xenophobia, they want to hide the deprivation of property and rights, the killing, the exile and assimilation of Tatars, authors want to hide under the EU’s carpet the garbage thrown by Romania in the Balkans .

Taking Crimea Photo Exhibition by Alban Kakulya

Geneva 18 January 2011 - Alban Kakulya, a renowned Swiss photographer, travelled to Crimea where he documented the environment and life of its inhabitants, including the resettled Crimean Tatars, The exceptional and moving images are presented in an exhibition titled ‘Taking Crimea’, which runs from February 4 until March 12, 2011 at the Imaginaid Gallery, 28 rue des Grottes, Geneva.

The Crimean peninsula is located in the Southern Ukraine, bordering the Northern shores of the Black Sea. Its mild climate, beautiful countryside and fertile soils made it a much-desired place to settle and may be among the reasons for the numerous wars fought here over the centuries. The last of them, the Second World War, also formally ended here, in the resort town of Yalta where Roosevelt, Churchill and Stalin met to discuss the future of Europe.

“Taking Crimea” is also telling the story of the Crimea Tatars, a Turkic ethic group who lived in Crimea for centuries. After the WWII the Crimean Tatars were deported by the communist regime under the pretext of alleged collaboration with the Nazis during the Nazi occupation of the Crimea. About 200 000 people were brought to Central Asia, mostly Uzbekistan, and almost half of them died during transport or within the first year, mostly from starvation. After the break-up of the Soviet Union, the Crimean Tatars were invited to return to their homeland. There, they still face prejudice and discrimination. To claim their right to the land, they scatter the landscape with little, uninhabitable, houses at the size of toilet cabins to show their presence.

On the southwestern tip of Crimea is the Port of Sevastopol. It hosted the infamous Black Sea Fleet once founded by Potemkin. Today, the Russian military use the port as a naval base. The unique geographic location and navigation conditions of the city's harbours make Sevastopol a strategically important naval point but also an issue of imminent actuality in Ukrainian politics when it comes to allowing Russian military forces being stationed in the country.

The exhibition of Alban Kakulya’s “Taking Crimea” offers a glimpse into the society and environment of Crimea today, a place ridden by war and injustice, and yet beautiful.

Environment Network, a non-profit environmental communication agency based in Geneva. It is linked to the United Nation’s efforts to address environment and security issues. It is also subject of a photo book titled “Taking Land” which will be presented at the vernissage on February 3, 18.30 h, at Imaginaid.

Why are you a photographer?I do not really know why I am a photographer, maybe because some day I understood that I was not that good at drawing ? Maybe because photography can lead to many different directions. You can be a journalist and a photographer, you can be an artist, or you can work in the fashion industry. Photography gives many opportunities. In short, photography is a good opportunity to discover the world and the people. I like photography as much for what it gives as for what it is.

How did you first get into photography?In an art school, during a preparatory year in which students were invited to discover different artistic ways of expression.Was there a clear moment when you knew that it was time to take pictures professionally or was it a gradual transition?This was a gradual transition.

Do you remember your first photography sale?Not really, I remember my first published photographs. It was an underwater photo series published in a professional magazine.What type of camera do you use most?The type of camera depends on the type of photographs. But I discovered unexpected fields of application and freedom with digital cameras.What is your favorite lens?My favorite lens depends on what I photograph. Anyway, I only have two lenses per camera, a 35mm and a 80mm (or the correspondent for medium format), I can do almost anything I want with these two.How does your family life come into play with your professional life?I very much like to involve my family in my projects and it is quite often that, either my daughter or my girlfriend, are posing for me. I also depict part of my intimate life in some of my projects.Do you believe that film photography will in the end be totally replaced by digital photography?Yes, more or less in the same way as CDs and later MP3 replaced vinyls. There are still some vinyls here and there but most users, even professionals, go digital.Do you prefer using film cameras over digital?Digital photography opened a much wider field of possibilities. For the freedom it gives, I would go for digital.What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?I am already learning to work with horses with my girlfriend who is a psychologist specialized in therapy in relation with horses. I very much like the contact with animals, especially horses.How has technology influenced your work?Technology has always been a mean to facilitate

people’s life. It continues to be true today. Technology is opening vast areas of freedom. I personally feel much more free than ever before. I dare to shoot much more complicated scenes than I would have ever tried before.Do you have a ritual you follow before each new shoot is started?I don’t think so.What photo do you have hanging in your living room?None.Do you have a tip for beginner photographers that will help them improve their photography?Look for pleasure.What is the most important thing a new photographer should be aware of?Being happy doing his job. If he/she feels no special excitement, then it is maybe better to think about something else to do.Have you ever censored your work for fear of offending someone?Yes, it is very easy to carry a bad image of something or somebody. A photographer has an important responsibility in not taking sides, especially when he/she works as a reporter.Do you think it is important to specialize in one area of photography?It again depends on each person. I am personally not for specialization, but people will quickly put you into a category. If you work once for an architecture magazine, only architects will contact you. You really have to make you own advertisement if you wish to work in different fields. Don’t wait for a fashion magazine to call you. Create your own «fake» fashion campaign and show it around. Only then people will realize that you can do something else.What is your secret weapon?Light should be the secret weapon of all photographers.Do you believe art should serve a political purpose or remain neutral?This is a very difficult and interesting question. I do not think art can remain neutral, but I do not think art should serve a political message. Art is imbedded in political and social life. Art that remains neutral has no interest, it is just decorative and to me, decoration is not art. Art has a mission, this misson is to question society, to make people evolve and think further. Art shouldn’t serve a political message neither, art is not here to serve, it is here to question, to provoke a reflection.In an ideal situation I would be in the same publication with the following photographers/journalists:There are too many interesting people for me to choose one or two. Eşmîrzanîñ iğadî yazuwlî tuwul da, awuzdan-awuzga awuşuw netiğesínde kalk arasînda keñíş darkagandîr. Onîñ yîrlarî Kîrîmnîñ şól taraflarînda we Kerç adasînda yaşagan Kîrîm Tatarlar arasînda saklanîp kaldîlar.

Eşmîrza kartnîñ kózí kórmiy edí. Onî elínden ğetep ğúrgenler. Onday aliyğenap insanlardan bírsí Kîrîmnîñ Argîmak-Elí kóyínden Kulmambet Bekmambet bolîp, soñîndan onîñ ózí de bellí folklorğî, masal aytuwğî bolîp yetíştí. Eşmîrza kartnîñ ekseriy şiirlerí onîñ awuzundan yazîlîp alîngandîr.

Ğenkten ewel Eşmîrza kedaynîñ yaratîğîlîgî man A.S. Puşkin atîna Kîrîm Tatar tílí we edebiyatî ilmiy-tedkikat institutî ograştî. 1940 senesí institut folklorğî Bakî Gaziyevníñ "Kalk şayirí Eşmîrza" atlî kitabîn neşir ettí. Bo kitapka Eşmîrza kart hakkînda makaleler men barabar, kedaynîñ şiirlerínden de kírsetíldí.

Hiğrette neşir etílgen "Edebiyat krestomasiyasî" (Taşkent, 1971) kitabîna Eşmîrza kartnîñ "Soldatlîk hakkînda" serlevalî şiirí kírsetíldí.

Eşmîrza kart 1883 senesí vefat etken.

Tatarlîk olay yaşatîlgan... Bonday túşúnğeler men Şeripe turayîm ettí ğatkan ğerínden ama odaga kírdí komşîsî Patme-abay, peştímalîn íşínde oralgan bír tokîma peşkír men, bír kella, ortakarar parşa şeker men, onlarnî beríp óptí loksanî, balanî kórdí, konîşmasîn toktatmadan:

- Aynanayîm kîzîmdan, kímge uşay şo? ğevapnî bírewden beklemeden, atîn ne salağaksîñ, kaday? dedí.

Asîl ózín túşúnğelerín tuydurmadan toktadî. Oriye de túşúngen Kîrîm`da ğîlay kalgan halalarîna, Mensuluw bolsîn atî dep, eger ózlerí başkasîna túşúngen bolsalar aytmamîz heşbírşiy, dep. Sarîp biyaz tokîma kundakka, "Ellam"-nî okîp, nazar tiymesín dep tukurup, mañnayîna belge yasap, saldî balaşîknî abiysíñ ósken beşígíne. Sîypalap-sîypalap surtken soñ onî, tuzlangan tokîma testímalnî ğuwdî ebanay, şaykadî, turmadan duwalar aytîp, "ğay şonî, kurugawuysun" dep te, uzattî Munire`ge. Şalt apakay, hem de şaltlîgî bolmasa, ebanaylîgî da bolmaz edí, taa?

Bír hayliyden soñ bízge aşamaga kurma, sút, ótmek we suw berdíler. Yorgînlîk we góñíl raátsízlíkten sebep aşka ragbet bolmadî. Lákin dewelerímíz vakaadan memnun edíler. Çúnkí, toktamadan şaynanîp ğata edíler.

Keşe Malikeden kaber keldí. At patlatîp kelgen asker kîz Malikesíñ emrín biñbaşî kart kadînga bírliy-bírliy ayttî. Bo ulkanîñ tílínde bek kóp lúgat-î Arabiy we kelimeler bolganîndan bír dereğege kadar sózlerí añlaşîla edí.

Abdulla Dariy'níñ zannîna kóre bízlerní kara Malike óz haremíne alağagî memul eken. Yetíşmesín almaga! Bízler gibí biyaz we húsn-iy ğemal súygúlúsí yok eken. Korkmañîz, sízlerní kafeste kuş gibí tutar we ileríde belkí kurtulmaga Kuday bír şáre berír.

- Bízler bonday bolsak seníñ óz hálíñ ne bolîr? dedím.

- Men kart kíşí, hem mínda zenğiy erler az tuwuldur. Maga kîzmetşílík nasip bolağagîna şúphe yoktîr. Hem sanetermen sízlerge kîzmetşí hem terğúman bolîrman; Çúnkí Malike hazretlerí ğúmleñíz men sózleşme, ğilvelenme íster... Tíl bílmiysíñíz.

Binalar aldînda bír súrúw silaklî şáşlerí kuş kanatlarî man ziynetlengen kadînlar we ekí tarafta silaklî asker kîzlar bar edí. Etrafka kóz taşlaganda kórdík ke azbarîñ herbír kazîgîna dewe, sîyîr, koy, insan başlarî geşíríp salganlar. Ziynet-iy letafet we saltanat eken.
