A video was sent to children to celebrate Amrit Mahotsav. Children from all the sections participated in this activity with great enthusiasm.

FRIENDSHIP DAY CELEBRATION Friendship Day is celebrated on first Sunday of August, every year. This year it was celebrated on 1st August. The special Assembly was presented by the students of LKG -K. The class teacher explained the importance of friends in our lives and why we should always respect and love them. The children recited the quotes based on friendship and foot tapping dance were performed. The aim was also to build social skills among children.

PICTURE TALK- NEST, SHIP AND MANGO Picture Talk activity on the topics MANGO, NEST and SHIP for LKG were held on 3rd, 10th and 12th August respectively. The teacher spoke on the topics by showing the pictures and emphasizing on the new words. The aim was to help the children connect with the picture and express their opinion on it.

FLAG COLOURING ACTIVITY In view of Independence Day celebrations, flag coloring activity was conducted on 13th August wherein children were taught to draw our National flag. They first made the outline of the flag, followed by coloring the same, using crayons. The flag coloring activity was aimed at making the national flag familiar to the children through the tricolors, i.e, orange, white and green. The activity also helped to develop the feeling of nationalism in them. Children enjoyed doing this activity.

INDEPENDENCE DAY- SPECIAL ASSEMBLY On the auspicious day of 15th August our school celebrated Independence Day. The celebration started with great enthusiasm. The day began early at Naval KG, Dolphin Hill with decoration of the school. The headmistress Mrs Rakhi Khanna along with the other staff members got together for the flag hoisting. All the student of UKG-J presented a virtual Independence Day assembly. Importance of Independence Day was narrated by the class teacher. Students of UKG-J were dressed in tri colour and performed dance on patriotic songs.

RAKHI MAKING ACTIVITY As a part of Raksha Bandhan celebrations, a beautiful Rakhi with craft paper was made on 18th August. The teacher instructed the children as to how it was to be made. This activity emphasized on the development of fine motor skills and eye hand coordination.

RAKSHABANDHAN ASSEMBLY Special morning assembly on “Raksha Bandhan” was virtually conducted by the students of class UKG-L on 22nd August. The assembly commenced with a welcome speech by little ones followed by the class teacher speaking about the significance of the festival with the help of puppets. Thereafter, the children performed a role play on the story of Raksha Bandhan of Rani Karnawati and Emperor Humayun and the class teacher concluded the story bringing out the importance of thread called “Rakhi”. Lastly, the assembly was concluded with a message given by the children on the importance of using eco-friendly Rakhi’s made by themselves using their artistic skills. All children enjoyed the celebration of Raksha Bandhan with lots of enthusiasm.

PEACOCK HANDPRINT ACTIVITY Peacock handprint activity was conducted for LKG on 23rd August. This activity was not only easy but also improved the creative skills of the children. They first dipped their palm in the colors and then put the impression of the palm on paper. After which they drew the beak, legs and eyes of the peacock and decorated its' feathers to make it look more attractive. LKG children enjoyed doing this activity.

DRAW MISSING FACE PART ACTIVITY Missing face part activity was conducted for LKG on 26th August, wherein the teacher showed the picture of a face in which some parts were missing. The children were given instructions to identify and then draw the missing parts on the face to complete the picture. The aim was to make the children be familiar with the name of the parts of our face. It also helps to enhance fine motor skills.

CROWN MAKING ACTIVITY On the occasion of Janmashtami a crown making activity was undertaken on 27th August. The teacher explained to the children about the activity by showing paper cutouts. She explained as to how it would be stuck together to make a beautiful crown. The activity was thoroughly enjoyed by the children as the response was overwhelming.

MATKA DECORATION ACTIVITY LKG

On the occasion of Janmashtmi, Matka decoration activity was conducted for LKG on 27th

August. In this activity craft paper was cut in the shape of matka and was decorated with

small cutouts of shapes like circle, triangle and square. It helps the children to enhance their

eye-hand coordination and fine motor skills.

UKG

Matka decoration activity was conducted fir UKG on 27th August. The children were asked to

colour the 'matka' using attractive and bright colors. They were also told about festival of

Janmashtami and how Lord Krishna loved to eat butter. The objective of this activity was to

make them aware of our festivals and enhance their imagination and creativity.

JANAMASHTAMI- SPECIAL ASSEMBLY Janmashtami festival is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Krishna, one of the most powerful

and famous reincarnation of Lord Vishnu. Janmastami is celebrated virtually on 27thby UKG

H children under the guidance of their Class teacher Mrs Kirti Sundari with great enthusiasm

and joy. Janmashtami is celebrated as a special assembly where children enacted skit,

followed by Dance, Krishna Aarti and Dahi handi. All children were dressed up traditionally

and presented a beautiful assembly of Krishna Janmashtami.

PUBLIC SPEAKING

LKG Public speaking activity* on the topic *food* was conducted on 4th August. Teacher emphasised on eating healthy food. The topic *My Flag* activity was conducted on 13th August. In this activity teacher emphasised the importance of our National Flag. These activities help students to develop linguistic skills which are very useful in the daily routine.

UKG Public speaking on the topic “My Country” was conducted on 12th August virtually. It enhanced the vocabulary and communication skills of the children. Through this we can inculcate the value and affection towards our country.

CONVERSATIONAL SKILLS

LKG Conversation skills on the topic "My family" was held on 16th August. The teacher explained how we converse with each other as a family. The aim was to nurture their communication skills and develop vocabulary.

UKG Conversation skills play an important role in holistic development of a child. Regular practice of conversation skills enhances oral skills, vocabulary, pronunciation and confidence of the child. To attain the objective conversation skills video on the topic "Care for your surroundings" was sent to children on 26th August.

STORY LKG The story of "The Fox & the Crow" was narrated to the students through video. LKG Teachers also narrated the same story to the children during the Friday Webinar i.e. on 27th August. To make the story narration more interesting teachers used relevant props and puppets. Students enjoyed listening to the story. Through this narration, teachers also tried to foster moral values in the young minds.

UKG Story telling is an important aspect of children's life. It enhances their listening, imaginative and logic skills. It inculcates moral values in children. It plays an important role in improving child's vocabulary and pronunciation. The Disobedient Boy story was demonstrated through a video for UKG on 17th Aug for the holistic development of the children.

CLASS WEBINAR

Academic webinars are conducted by the school twice a week for LKG and UKG. Topics

from the previous week are revised in the webinars. Webinars are conducted in different

time slots with 10 students for each slot so that individual attention is given to the children.

The students participate in the webinar with great enthusiasm.

MUSIC WEBINAR

Music webinar is conducted twice in a week.i.e. On Thursday for LKG students and Friday

for UKG students. This webinar is extremely enjoyable and interactive session where

children were excited to see their music teacher playing music and singing the rhymes along

with actions .All the students participate in the webinar very enthusiastically. Music

teacher gives individual attention .She stimulates, facilitate and encourage the students to

repeat the rhymes .This webinar allows for better interaction with children in ways that

promote learning and development.

TELEPHONIC VIDEO CALLS

Individual WhatsApp video calls are taken for UKG children every week in order to

strengthen the reading skills as well as concept clearing.’ All children are divided in three

slots in three days so that ample time can be given to each individual child. Feedback obtain

from parents indicates this video calling practice is highly beneficial and appreciated.

PLAY AND LEARN ACTIVITY

ACTIVITY 1- READ AND FIND THE ALPHABET Play and Learn activity on "Read and Find the Alphabet" was conducted for LKG on 30th July. In this activity alphabets from A to G were arranged in one side and 1, 2, 3 numbers were arranged on the other side. The child will jump and say the numbers 1, 2 & 3 loudly and pick the slip from the bowl and reads out the Alphabet and its sound. The child finds out the Alphabet and place the cup on the Alphabet which is written on the craft paper. The aim was to make the children be familiar with the numbers and the phonic sound of the alphabets.

ACTIVITY 2- SORTING OUT WITH PHONIC SOUND Play and learn activity on "sorting out with phonic sound" was conducted for LKG on 6th August. In this activity alphabets from A to J were arranged in one side. Then out of a pile an object was picked and put in front of the alphabet whose phonic sound matched with the first sound of the name of the object. The aim was to make the children be familiar with the phonic sound of the alphabets.

ACTIVITY 3- ALPHABET DRAWING As a part of play and learn activity alphabet drawing activity was conducted for LKG and

UKG on 13th August. Drawing through the alphabet is a fun way for children to work on

formation of capital alphabet letters. Children used their fine motor skills to draw lines and

curves and it also reinforced the sound of the alphabets. It was a step by step drawing that

showed how to start with the correct formation of the alphabet and draw a related figure. The

drawing techniques used were simple and it also focused on letter formation. Children

enjoyed doing this activity.

ACTIVITY 4- TOSS THE RING AND NAME THE SWAR Play and Learn activity on Hindi Swars was conducted for UKG on 13th August. In this

activity children were told to write Swars on the craft paper squares and then arrange them

in sequence. Thereafter children were told to throw a ring on akshar and say words starting

with that akshar. The aim of this activity was to make the children relate words with the

Swars.

ACTIVITY 5- ALPHABETIC EXERCISE Play and Learn activity on “Alphabetic Exercise" was conducted for LKG on 27th August. In

this activity alphabets from A to N were demonstrated in the form of exercise and their

sounds. The main aim was to make the children be familiar with the phonic sound of the

alphabets through play and learn method.

ACTIVITY 6- FUN WALK WITH ‘e’ VOWEL FAMILY

Play and Learn Activity on "Fun walk with 'e' Vowel Family" was conducted for UKG on 27th

August. In this activity there was a route from start point to the finish point in which

throughout the route there were placards of words and the pictures were placed randomly.

The child needs to stand on the starting point with the basket of placards related to those

which were already placed. The route was made with thin strips of craft papers wherein child

starts walking on the strip line with balance and has to identify the placard and picks up the

right placard from the basket and places next to the placard which was already arranged.

This activity will go on till the finish point. The aim was to make the children identify the

words as well as the pictures of the 'e' Vowel Family.

NAME OF VEGETABLE ACTIVITY Name of vegetables activity was conducted on 6th August for UKG. The children were taught to recognize and name the common vegetables. They wrote the names of these vegetables in their notebook. The objective of this activity was to enhance their vocabulary and also inculcate the habit of healthy eating.

ON-CALL PARENTS TEACHER INTERACTION Our school, Naval Kindergarten, Dolphin Hill, believes in maintaining productive partnership with parents and ensures that our kindergarteners can achieve their highest potential. An ON CALL PTI was conducted on 6th August. To listen to parents concerns, take feedbacks and clarify any doubts regarding CCA.

MOM LKGThe message of the month *we are proud Indians* for this month was conducted on 31st August and this was conveyed to the children by doing free hand drawing of National flag and two children saluting the National flag. UKG The Message of the month, “I love my country” was done on 26th August. The children were told about our National Symbols and their importance. They were also told about the significance of our tri-colour and that we should always respect it. Simple steps of drawing the flag and coloring it were also demonstrated. The objective of this activity was to make them aware about our National symbols and instill the feeling of patriotism.

CCA – FUN WITH RHYMES CCA- Fun with rhymes was conducted on 27th August. The children were asked to recite any rhyme of their choice in English. The parents were asked to record a video of children reciting the poem and send it to the respective class teachers. Students of LKG and UKG participated enthusiastically, presenting array of poems with confidence. The objective of this activity was to enhance their language skills and also instil confidence among children.
