(Addendum to Navy Arms Percussion Revolver Shooting andl.tai ntenance Instructions )Step #1 - Cylinder is chambered for the ever popular.45l cal. round ba]l.Loading procedures of the LeMat revolvers are 'identical tostandard revolvers as described in the enclosed book'let. However,the loading lever situated on the left hand side of the frame isoperated by moving it in an upward direction thereby causing therammer head to seat the ball into the chamber.

To fire the revolver, the face of the chamber selector shouldbe in the uppermost position.Step #Z - L0ADING THE LOWER BARREL

The lower barrel is .55 caliber and is intended to shoot a.63 cal. patched round ball wjth a charge not to exceed 25 grainsof FFF9. powder.TO LOAD:Ensure that bore is free of any obstruct'ion and oil residue.Ensure that nipple is clear by firing a cap without a main charge.3. Using a powder measure, carefully measure the aformentioned 25grains of FFFg. black powder and pour into barrel with revolverheld'in the upright position.

4. Place a pre-lubrjcated patch and.63 cal. round ball in the .65caliber snpothbore barrel and ram home using the convenientlysituated ramrod located in the main ranuner housing. This is simplyextracted by placing thumb and forefinger on the flat circularproiection and pulljng out.

CAVALRY l.l0DEL - Lower the lever latch located at bottom frontof franc. The barrel will then fully unscrew in a counter - clockwisedi rection.ARI-IY & NAVY I{ODELS - It is suggested that the tension be removed fromthe barre'l pin retaining spring by carefully loosening the retainingspring screw in a counter clockwise direction. This will allow thebarrel retaining pin located at front lower portion of frame to bepulled out towards the muzzle of the revolver thus allowing the barrelassembly to be removed in a counter-clockwise direction.After removing barrel assembly, cylinder can be removed by slidingforward from the cylinder pin. Cleaning procedures are as describedin the booklet.Reverse procedure for re-assembly.
