Navigation Concept EMR

The EMR navigation works like a web application.

With the top bar general functions can be chosen

(e.g. sending a message, checking the day list,

switching to the system menu for presetting etc.).

The main menu on the left side provides all

functions related to patient data (reviews, clinical

and admin data entry etc.).

Patient Data (1)

• The top 10 menu buttons are related to clinical

patient data:

– Dashboard (quick overview important patient data)

– Reviews (established data reports)

– Encounter (reason for today visit)

– History (8 parts history of the patient)

– Chief Complaint

• General Exam (VA, Refraction etc.)

• Anterior Exam (Cornea, Lens, Lids etc.)

• Posterior Exam (Retina, Macula etc.)

• Special Exam (Images, HRT, OCT etc.)

• Diagnosis (Permanent and acute diagnosis ICD)

Admin Data (1)

• The bottom 7 buttons are related to

administrative data for the patient encounter:

– Demographics (Patient Name, DOB, Gender etc.)

– Sticky Notes (Individual notes, information for next

visit etc.)

– Prescriptions (Drugs, Glasses, CL etc.)

– Letters + Reports (e.g. Letters to referring

physicians)

• Admin Data (Billing Codes, Superbill Data etc.)

• Information Center (Guidelines, Manuals etc.)

• (Short Cut) (Individual user setting for a preferred

function)

• (Quit Patient) (Complete patient data and save)
