Athletic Eligibility PolicyCIAC Eligibility Requirements:

Earn 4 credits from the previous school year to be eligible for Fall, Winter, and/or Spring sports

Freshmen are automatically eligible per CIAC standards

Year-end failures may be made up through successfully completion of LEA approved summer school courses

Students have 8 consecutive semesters (or 4 consecutive years) of eligibility from the start of 9th grade

Attendance Policy• Credit for 1.0 credit year-long courses

will be withheld when a student exceeds 12 class absences (6 for semester-long courses) in the class for excused/unexcused absences.

• Parents will be notified in writing following the 4th absences for all courses.

• Parents will be notified in writing when credit is withheld due to violation of the attendance policy.

Career Clusters

The FHS School Counseling Department will be taking the time to meet with the Freshman class of 2018 about Career Clusters. This will be a unique, new opportunity that allows students to tailor their 4-year education plan to college and career interests.
