Homeopathic law of cure

Curative power of medicine – symptoms similar to disease

Confirmation of law of nature

how homeopathic cure takes place

Page 5: Natural law of cure

 § 26

The weaker dynamic affection is permanently extinguished in the living organism by a stronger one, if the latter(whilst differing in kind) is very similar to the former in its manifestations

Page 6: Natural law of cure

in other words it means Two similar diseases cannot exist in the organism at the same time.

The stronger will annihilate the weaker one / a weaker disease is automatically removed if the patient contracts a similar but stronger disease.

this phenomenon is known as The Homeopathic Law of Nature or The Nature’s Law of Cure.

Page 7: Natural law of cure

The conditions for this law to become applicable are:

1. Both the affections should be dynamic in nature.

2. They both should be similar in their manifestations.

3. But they should differ in kind. 4. The later one should be stronger

than the former one.

Page 8: Natural law of cure

They both have to be dynamic. If the later one is not of dynamic

origin then it cannot remove the former one in any way.

it should be similar in manifestation i.e. it should produce similar symptoms. If it is non- similar in origin then it will not be able to bring out any cure.

Page 9: Natural law of cure

let us discuss the above law by taking some examples in different aspects given by Dr Hahnemann on foot note 14

1. physical aspect 2. moral aspect 3.disease aspect

Page 10: Natural law of cure

physical aspect : 1.in the early dawn the brilliant Jupiter vanishes from the

gaze of the beholder illustration : both the Jupiter and sun are same in their

manifestation and affect the optic nerve of the observer but the power of the sunlight is much more stronger than that of the Jupiter and hence Jupiter becomes invisible during the daytime.

2.The pitiful cries of the wounded soldier cannot be heard in the battlefield due to the loud sound of the drums.

Moral aspect : The sorrow of a man due to the death of the neighbor is

removed if he loses his more closer relative, e.g., father, brother, son etc

Page 11: Natural law of cure

we have seen the physical and moral aspects

lets see how we can apply the same law in curing the disease.

for this we have to see the disease aspect

Page 12: Natural law of cure

measles

Whooping cough

Chronic herpetic eruptions

Millary rash

Page 13: Natural law of cure

How does it happen?

The organism as the living individuality can neither receive two similar dynamic affections at the same time nor it can react to them simultaneously. It has to choose one or the other. So it chooses the one which is stronger of the two in affecting the vital principles

Page 14: Natural law of cure

If it is so, then why can’t we really cure all the diseases?

(a) There are very few diseases which are similar in manifestations. So it is not applicable to all diseases. It is possible only in a few cases of similar diseases.

(b) they are more dangerous to life and more dreaded than the disease to be cured: sometimes the suffering of the disease by which nature performs occasional cure are more than the disease to be cured . a man who suffers from deafness or orchitis will never like to suffer from smallpox in spite of all assurance of cure of his deafness or orchitis . even the smallpox ay kill the patient.

Page 15: Natural law of cure

(c) they require their own independent treatment for eradication : suppose , smallpox has cured orchitis in a patient . but smallpox itself requires independent treatment for subsequent curing . as a result of this one disease may follow the occurrence of other disease.

(d) no control over the disease : all disease does

not require the same strength for their destruction . that is why the potency varies according to the disease but here we have no command over the disease hence we just have to wait and watch.

from the above limitations , we come to know that it is very conditional for cure to occur naturally.

Page 16: Natural law of cure

so ,where we can find such force which is very similar and stronger ??

Dr Hahnemann has found the source which is capable of producing this kind of force, these are known as medicine .

Page 17: Natural law of cure

when a medicine is administered on the basis of symptom similarity it affects the morbidly deranged dynamic vital force and thus produces a similar but stronger disease against the existing one. and thus permanent annihilating the weaker one ,, causing the cure

to understand it,, let us see the mechanism of cure i.e. MODUS OPERANDI

Page 18: Natural law of cure

A medicine is applied homeopathically to sick

person

Affects the morbidly, deranged vital force of the individual through the medium sentient

faculty of nerve s stronger, similar, medicinal, disease

is produced by the primary action of the medicine. This stronger,

similar, medicinal disease

permanently extinguish the

weaker, similar ,natur

al disease

Page 19: Natural law of cure

This vital force is now merely medicinally disease. This medicinal disease is

removed in two ways

Medicinal disease gradually

becomes weaker and weaker due

to :(i) minuteness of

dose(ii) shorter and

fixed duration of action of the

medicine

Now the vital force is free from both

disease force and medicinal

force

Secondary curative action of

the vital force

Page 20: Natural law of cure

Being free from all disease the vital force is enabled again to carry on healthily the vital operation of the organism .thus perfect health is

restored.

Page 21: Natural law of cure

Advantages :- Unlike the natural disease, There are several similar medicines

which can be used as proper homeopathic aid for all innumerable natural disease .

The doses can be controlled ,we can increase or decrease the dose or change the medicine as per we need .

The power of the medicine after completing cure disappears spontaneously without requiring any secondary treatment.

They are not dangerous for our health

Page 22: Natural law of cure

And most important

Medicine cures gently, rapidly, and permanently from the tormenting natural disease to the desired state of permanent health.

Page 23: Natural law of cure

How medicines are stronger than natural disease

Aphorism no headings comments§30-§34 How medicines

are stronger than natural disease

because1)Medicines act unconditionally(2) Regulation of doses(3) medicine prevent diseases(4) medicine can cure, palliate and suppress natural disease

Page 24: Natural law of cure

Why medicines are stronger than natural disease? (§30-§34)

Medicines are stronger than natural disease because of the following reasons:

(1)Medicines act unconditionally(§31) : they do not require any preconditions for their action whereas the diseases are always conditional happenings.

(a)medicines act all the time :they are irrespective of time ,they can act any time, season, hour whereas disease require s particular affinity at particular season. For e.g. cholera, dysentery generally occur in summer season

Page 25: Natural law of cure

(b) under all the circumstances : They do not need any particular circumstances for their action but disease require certain factors

(c) on every living individual : the medicines works on every individual but disease not, it is not possible that every person in a locality or in the family, during an epidemic disease is attacked, but when a medicine when given to each and every person will produce symptoms according to the medicine given.

Page 26: Natural law of cure

(2) Regulation of doses is in our hand : we can increase or decrease the quantity and quality of dose as per we need.

(3) medicine prevents diseases: medicines have capability of preventing the disease.

In f .n . s 33/2 Hahnemann writes that children who took belladonna in small dose did not suffer from scarlet fever which was epidemic in Koningslutter in the year 1801.

It proves that medicine is stronger and superior and than natural disease because if medicine is not stronger it cannot prevent disease.

(4) medicine can cure, palliate and suppress natural disease : it shows that medicine are stronger hence they can cure, suppress or palliate disease because if they were weaker they are not able to do so.

Law of dis-similia

Aphorism no heading Comments

§35- §42 Law of dis-similia

Two dissimilar disease when they meet together either they repel or suspend or forms the complex disease

Page 28: Natural law of cure

What happens when two different disease meet together in human body ??

In §34 Dr Hahnemann has explained that two dissimilar disease can never bring cure .

To understand this he has given three different condition : First condition : When two dissimilar diseases meet together in living

being , if old disease is stronger than attacking new disease then the new get repelled by old stronger disease .

Examples: A patient suffering from a severe chronic disease will not

infected by a moderate autumnal dysentery or other epidemic disease.

Persons suffering from eczema are and not affected by plague .

Page 29: Natural law of cure

Second possibility

If older disease is weaker , attacking new disease is stronger, in this new disease takes upper hand and suspends the older weaker disease it will run its course or been cured and after completing its regular course or cure, again old weaker disease recurred .

Examples : Itch disappeared on the appearance of

scurvy but after the cure of scurvy it again broke out -Schoopf

Page 30: Natural law of cure

Third possibility

The new disease after having long acted on the organism , at length joins the old one that is dissimilar to it and forms complex disease –so that each of them occupies a particular locality in the organism namely the organs peculiarly adapted for it, whilst it leaves the rest to the other disease that is dissimilar to it .

Example : During an epidemic , in which small pox and

measles were prevalent at the same time among three hundred cases there was yet one single case where both disease dissimilar disease in one individual -P.russel

Simultaneous occurrence of small pox and measles are witnessed by -Rainey

Page 31: Natural law of cure

Complex disease

The complex disease is a diseased condition when more than one dissimilar diseases are present at the same time in one person. In other words, complex disease denotes the mixture of more than one dissimilar disease in a person.

Page 32: Natural law of cure

Nature of disease forming complex disease

(a) the disease forming complex disease are mainly chronic in character.

(b) in rare cases , the diseases may be acute in nature as observed by different observers (sec.40)

(c) even a complex disease may formed being treated allopathically for a prolonged time when the original disease is only trifling one

Examples – (A) complex disease formed by chronic

disease syphilitic patient may become psoric ,vice-versa.

Page 33: Natural law of cure

.

(b) complex disease may formed by acute disease.

(i) during an epidemic , in which small-pox and measles were prevalent at the same time , among the three treatment of natural there was one single case in which P.russel met with both these dissimilar diseases occurred simultaneously in one and in same body.

(ii) Rainey witnessed the simultaneous occurrence of small-pox and measles in two girls

Page 34: Natural law of cure

Formation of complex disease Complex disease may arise in the following two

ways :- (a) we have seen in sec.40 that two dissimilar

natural diseases of equal strength act on the organisms for a long time, they at length joins together to form a complex disease , so that each of them occupies the particular locality of the organism according to each ones affinity leaving the rest to the other disease that is dissimilar to it but such occurance is very rare.

When he says that the disease occupies a particular locality, it means that the manifestation of disease is more apparent on specific organs, depending upon the tissue affinity.

Page 35: Natural law of cure

For e.g., a person might suffer from Hepatitis and Gonorrhea simultaneously. Both diseases affect the vitality of the person as a whole, but the effects of Hepatitis will be more visible on the liver and the effects of Gonorrhea will be more visible in the genitourinary tract.

(b) A much more frequent cause for the appearance of complex disease is the treatment of natural chronic diseases by the long – continued employment of unsuitable (dissimilar) drugs in repeated ever-increasing doses as done by the allopathic system of medicine

Page 36: Natural law of cure

Being dissimilar it cannot cure the natural disease, as it us against the natural law of therapeutics . But the prolonged use of violent heroic medicines large and increasing doses (, quinine, sulphur and sulphuric acid, leeches etc.) sometimes weakened the vital force to an unmerciful extent. Sometimes if it do no succumbs the vital force gradually abnormally deranged in such a way that in order to maintain it life against , it must produce a revolution in the organism. Either it deprive some part of its irritability and sensibility or exalt these to an excessive degree and thus causes dilation or contraction ,relaxation or indurations of certain part, and develops faulty organic alteration here there in the interior or the exterior ,in order to preserve the organism from complete destruction of life by the ever renewed ,hostile assaults of such destructive forces (sec 74).

.

Page 37: Natural law of cure

Double complex disease

Double complex natural disease denotes a mixture of two or more natural disease, dissimilar and chronic (usually) in nature

Page 38: Natural law of cure

What happen when two similar diseases met together in human organism

When two similar diseases meet together in one human organism they neither repel each other ,nor suspend , nor complicate each other (sec.44) but the stronger similar disease permanently annihilate the weaker one by occupying the same parts of the organisms as stated in sec.45

Page 39: Natural law of cure

description -:

Due to similarity of action the stronger morbific power invades precisely the same parts of the organisms that were previously affected by weaker morbid irritation . Hence, the weaker disease can no longer act on these parts but extinguished permanently

In other words , when the vital force deranged by primary disease is more strongly attacked by the new , very similar , but stronger dynamic morbific power , it therefore now remains affected by the later one . The original , similar but weaker disease must , as a mere dynamic power without material substratum , cease to exercise any further morbid influence on the vital force , consequently it must cease to exist.

Page 40: Natural law of cure

how it works:-

§ 26 The weaker dynamic affection is

permanently extinguished in the living organism by a stronger one, if the latter(whilst differing in kind) is very similar to the former in its manifestations .

Example:- Small pox cured by ophthalmia.
