• Beneficiary countries:

Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan,

Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

Project in response to Afghan Drug Situation

The Expected Outcome

The expected outcome:

• Strengthened drug control through the provision of

specialised training to the selected personnel of the

competent law enforcement bodies.

• Strengthened capacities of the law enforcement training

institutions through training of trainers, exchange with

experience and technical assistance

Achievements in 2016

• “Risk Analysis and Drug Search Techniques”, held on 7-11 March at

TADOC, with the participation of 2 officers from Kyrgyzstan, 4 officers

from Tajikistan and 2 officers from Turkmenistan;

• “Risk Analysis and Drug Search Techniques”, provided by TADOC

trainers, held on 28 March-1 April in Almaty, with the participation of 22

officers from Kazakhstan;

• “Crime Intelligence Analysis”, provided by TADOC trainers, held on 11-

15 April at TADOC, with the participation of 4 officers from Kazakhstan, 4

officers from Kyrgyzstan and 3 officers from Tajikistan;

• “Drugs Online”, provided by the Italian Embassy, held on 11-15 April in

Tashkent for 10 Uzbek officers;

• “Police Leadership and Operation Management”, provided by TADOC

trainers, held on 18-22 April for 2 officers from Kazakhstan, 3 officers

from Kyrgyzstan, 5 officers from Tajikistan, 4 officers from Turkmenistan

and 2 officers from Uzbekistan;

Achievements in 2016 • “Advanced Narcotics Investigation Course”, provided by the DEA

trainers, held on 18-22 April in Tashkent for 18 officers from Uzbekistan;

• “Interdiction Operations Course”, provided by the DEA trainers, held on

25-29 April in Tashkent for 20 officers from Uzbekistan;

• “Surveillance Techniques”, provided by TADOC trainers, held on 23-27

May at TADOC for 10 Afghan officers;

• “Organized crime Investigations”, provided by TADOC, held on 23-27

May at TADOC for 10 Afghan officers;

• “Train-the-Trainers” ”, provided by TADOC instructors, held on 20-25

February 2017 in Almaty TADOC 9 officers from Kazakhstan, 2 officers

from Tajikistan and 4 officers from Turkmenistan.

• 140 officers have been trained through current project last

year and an additional 300 in 2017 expected.

• NRC 2006-2014 trained 3762 officers in 188 courses
